Lac Taut Collagen Orange Drink
Price: $84.95 for 8 bottles
Obtained: Gift Bag
Thoughts:
I find ideas like this so weird. I’ve been drinking a collagen drink from my local Asian grocers for a year or so but only because it tastes like roses. I wonder who came up with the idea to make something like this a drink rather than a cream? I can’t say I’ve ever thought “This skin care is so good, I’ll just take a quick swig and see if it’s absorbed better” *_*
Smells a lot like those gigantic orange vitamin c tablets I used to take as a kid, it tastes like them too but mixed with actual orange juice and kind of milky if that even makes sense. It didn’t taste too bad even for me who doesn’t actually like orange juice, it’s a pretty intense taste though and I had to shot glass it to make it through.
Obviously because I only had one and they recommend 3-4 per week I didn’t really see any results. I think this isn’t for me personally because of the high price and my general dubiousness about things like this. It might be up your alley if you’ve done some research on collagen and that’s something you’re actually interested in, no clue if they actually make long term differences to anything though!
Would I buy Lac Taut Collagen Orange Drink again: No.

As promised yesterday another review from Vanity Box! This time it’s including my now all time favorite bb cream.
This is the group of products that Kean sent me. They’ve just added the brand Peripera to the site and I’d heard a little about it before but not enough to have an opinion.
The packaging is beautiful, the lighting here turned it all gold but it’s actually all pink and silver so it looks awesome on my vanity table 😀 The addition of lollipops and mentos was also extra win haha! The nail polish was the first thing that I tried. It’s a coral tinted orange and the formula is very buttery. It was opaque in one coat but two coats gave the best finish. I loved the formula but wasn’t a fan of the colour. It just didn’t look good with my pink skin but I think it would look good on someone with yellow undertones.VERDICT: So I wouldn’t buy this colour again because it doesn’t go with my skin but I would definitely look into the others available.I can’t seem to find this on the site for a listing or price unfortunately.
Now the bb cream, I was SO happy with the finish on this one.
Peripera BB Cream– AU$18.50
Since The Face Shop discontinued my favorite bb cream I’ve been hunting for a new one but so far everything has either been too dark or yellow. The colour of this one is PERFECT. I am using the lighter shade “Light Beige”. The main features of this cream are SPF 50+, aloe extract and some vitamins to make skin extra smooth.
The finish is quite matte and the formula was very buildable depending on how I applied it. With a sponge it was light coverage, brush it was full and fingers were medium. I love the versatility of it and the face that it gave varying freckle coverage depending on how I applied. The site claims it lasts up to 24 hours and while I wouldn’t wear my make up that long I can vouch that it lasts all day and didn’t make my skin feel at all dry after. I haven’t noticed any improvement in my skins texture etc when not wearing it but it makes it look very fresh and pretty on.
The price makes me SO happy too, The Face Shop’s creams are around the $40 mark so this even with shipping is so much cheaper and in a much larger tube. I estimate that a tube of this would probably last me around a year. The tube is very pretty too, a very cute design and I prefer tubes like this because they store easily and are hygienic. I think this is the first time I haven’t had one negative thing to say about a bb/foundation XD
This is officially my HOLY GRAIL of bb creams.
Verdict: YES, DO WANT. Great texture, lasts well, good coverage.
My bare skin:
Same skin with Peripera bb cream:
Lastly one of the “Wonder of Lips” lipsticks.
Wonder of Lips in Shade 19 (not sure which this is on the site)– $15
Again the packaging on this one is beautiful, it’s a metallic pink tube with pink lace stamped on it. The formula is smooth and glides on easily. The pigmentation is a little odd because while it looks VERY bright in the tube one swipe leaves barely any colour behind. You can build it (seems to be a theme among all of the Peripera products) to be a very bright colour but that took a few times going over. I think this would be useful for people going from office jobs to out at night, during the day using one application and then at night darkening it up a bit.
VERDICT: Overall I really liked the colour and forumla and I would definitely look at more in the range.
This photo is 3 swipes:
The overall favorite of the bunch was definitely the bb cream which works perfectly for my skin and if you have similar skin to mine definitely check out Vanity Box for the new Peripera range. |

Ulta VaVa Vanilla Hand Cream
Price: Couldn’t find via googling
Obtained: Friend sent
Thoughts:
As far as hand creams go this is pretty standard fair. It’s good for an every day cream to keep next to the computer or use before bed. Its a nice thick cream and rubs in easily. The smell is nice, it kind of smells like vanilla biscuits or maybe some kind of shortbread or something. The bottle is massive, it feels nice and smells like biscuits… what’s not to like? There’s nothing overly special about it though.
Would I buy Ulta VaVa Vanilla Hand Cream again: Yes.

Royal & Langnickel Silk Green Line Brushes
Price: $119.99 from their website.
Obtained: Gift bag
Thoughts:
I love that Royal & Langnickel makes both artists brushes and make up brushes, there are parallels there that make me very happy.
This set came at the perfect time for me because I had very few brushes and wanted to learn how to use different types to achieve different looks. I have used this set every single day since I got it at ABBW 2011 and couldn’t be happier with the quality.
It comes with 12 brushes with bamboo handles. There is pretty much everything you could need to do most looks in there which makes it the ideal set for both traveling and at home for me. The bristles are incredibly soft and pick up a crazy amont of pigment. Honestly using these compared to my old ratty brushes gave me such a shock at the difference. I felt like I was using completely different colours with some of my eye shadows because amount of pigment was just so different.
The range is very thorough and the tiny little angled liner brush especially is the best I’ve ever used. In fact my two favorite brushes from the line are the little angled liner rsh and the fluffy blending brush. Both of them are completely essential to my make up routine now and I will continue using them and the rest every day.
Would I buy Royal & Langnickel Silk Green Line Brushes again: Yes and I will be looking out for their other brushes for now on.

Ulta Chocolate Hand Cream
Price: Can’t find it via googling
Obtained: Gift from a friend
Thoughts:
Smells like chocolate… surprise! It’s kind of like chocolate biscuits or something. As with the other Ulta hand cream I tried it rubs in easily and feels very silky whilst doing so. It’s brown straight from the tube but rubs in clear. No complaints here at all but nothing that makes me want to run out and repurchase it either. The smell does hang around so test in store to see if you like actually it. I personally love the smell of chocolate cookies so I would buy this again!
Would I buy Ulta Chocolate Hand Cream again: Yes.

Estée Lauder Liquid Liner Silver Zinc
Price: $42
Obtained: Gift Bag
Thoughts:
When I found this in my gift bag I thought “Meh another weird goldish colours I’ll probably never use”. It sat in my make up drawer for a couple of months before I did a look which had enough green in it to make me want to try this out. I regret waiting that long because now I see it’s a really versatile colour.
It’s a dark gold with slight green tones and dries in a metallic finish. The best part is the felt tip applicator, it makes drawing really complicated designs or multiple flicks really easy and reminds me of the art end mini Copic markers. It lasts all day and it comes off with make up remover in little pieces like eraser shavings rather than smudging.
For a colour that looks quite odd in the bottle it looks surprisingly natural on. I think this could look great for a little sparkle in neutral look as well as being a nice offset for green shadow or eyes. The quality is beaututiful and what I would expect from Estée Lauder.
Would I buy Estée Lauder Liquid Liner Silver Zinc again: Yes if I had the money.
