A new segment I’m trying out where in I show my morning make up routine for various days and chat about what I’m doing that day. Not really a tutorial, more of a random girly chat while we get ready together in the bathroom 😉
Today’s style features classic red lips with nice dark winged eyeliner. I used to wear this style a lot when we went to Rockabilly gigs, it was a really fun time. I love classic red lips and I’d like to start wearing them more! .

Vintage Style Red Lips and Black Liner – Morning Make Up Instructions
Good morning!
And welcome to another edition of Morning Make Up where I do my make up and we chat.
Today’s look is a little bit vintage.
Starting with foundation first as usual.
Next a generous coating of mascara.
When James and I used to go to a lot of Rockabilly gigs I did my make up like this a lot.
It was pretty much my go to look.
Coat the whole lid all the way up to the brow with white shimmer shadow.
It’s quite simple to do as long as you have the hang of liquid liner and lip liner.
A lot of people are scared of red lipstick but once you know how to handle it, it’s not that scary.
Take a shimmery dark brown shadow and draw on a wing. Continue the line around the eye so it forms a pointed “C” shape over the top of the eye.
Just draw the line, don’t fill it in.
This line creates depth and the higher you put it, the deeper your eyes will look.
Just make sure both sides match.
Take a fluffing brush and lightly blend it all.
Don’t blend too much because you don’t want to completely blur the line.
I miss going to see Rockabilly bands, we used to dance all the time!
Draw a thick line of liquid liner and wing it out.
I find liquid liner easiest to use when it’s got a felt tip.
Rather than drawing it on you can just dot it in place until it forms a line.
The line should start thin in the inner corner and get thicker at the outside.
The felt tip is useful for making a perfect wing too because you can just press it in place to make the flick.
Then just fill in any gaps.
Easy done and much easier than trying to control a proper brush.
Make sure to lean on something solid like a table so your hand isn’t wobbly!
If you need to, you can also pull the eyelid skin tight while you do this to keep it steady.
Taadaa, easy!
Add some feathery false lashes.
My favorite part of going to rockabilly gigs was watching the older couples dance, so cute!
Line your lips with a bright red lip liner.
I always start in the middle top and bottom and work my way out to the edge.
Rather than big lines, use small feathery strokes and go slowly.
We used to go dancing almost every weekend. Rockabilly gigs are great for dancing because everyone is so friendly!
A lot of the people who attended in our area had been listening to the music since they were kids too.
Fill in the lips with liner.
This is much easier than doing the edges.
I think most of the bands we used to see are broken up now, so sad.
The best top I have for lips is to smile while you apply liner.
You can see the finished shape as you go and it’s easier to draw with the lips pulled tight like this.
Apply a thin coat of red lipstick.
The lip liner base will make the lipstick last much longer.
Add a tiny bit of blush.
This is definitely a look you need to wear out dancing!
I love shiny lips so I added a little lip gloss too.
Matte red lips are very beautiful with this style though.
All done.
A look like this isn’t completely without the matching hair.
Link to the hair tutorial in the description!
Definitely goes with it a little better than my bathrobe does.
I hope this was a useful video. Please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching!
Bye!

Super Pink Eyes – Morning Make Up Instructions
Hello!
Welcome to another edition of Morning Make Up where I do my make up and we chat.
Today’s look is a nice bright pink.
Foundation first as usual!
I’m really excited today because my Bergamot shirts arrived!
Cute right?
I started with a pearly light pink in the inner corners.
There’s a link in the description to where you can get your own shirt.
They come in quite a few different varieties so make sure you take a look!
Then a pearly medium pink over the rest of the lid.
It’s been really exciting getting Bergamot themed goodies together!
The shirts are just the beginning, I can’t wait to do the rest of the Bergamot things I’ve got planned!
And a touch of hot pink on the outer corner.
And drawing the comics has been really great too.
I added a touch of white shimmer under the brow to act as a highlighter.
I’m still waiting for news on the plushies but as soon as I have it, so will you guys.
Then blended it all together with a fluffy brush.
I recently actually introduced two of Bergamot’s friends.
Using a smudging brush I brought some of the dark pink down to the lower lash line.
There’s Nana Bunchkins…
I painted a think winged line in black liquid liner.
I have been using liquid liner a lot more recently.
Nana is Bergamot’s slightly senile grandma.
She’s pretty blind so she’s always mistaking other people for Bergamot but she means well!
Mascara next!
I also introduced Bergamot’s love interest.
Then some thick 3/4 lashes.
His name is Sir Reginald T Bunnykins and he’s very much the proper Victorian Gentleman.
A touch of pink blush but not too much so it doesn’t over take the shadow.
Definitely no going out without a chaperone for them!
Lastly bright pink lipstick and a nude shimmer gloss.
I’m not sure where their adventures will lead yet but I think it will be pretty funny!
All done and very pink!
Perfect to go with the shirt.
Hope this was a useful video. Please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching!
Bye!
Thanks very much for being lovely enough to film with me Michelle!

Morning Make Up- Meeting Michelle Phan Instructions
Michelle and Violet- Hi!
Violet- Good morning!
Today’s morning make up has a little bit of a twist to it.
I got to meet Michelle Phan at a Lancome Blogger event.
Better do my make up first though!
-Intro-
Foundation always first of course
I tried out this mascara guard from Daiso because it seemed like fun!
I had mixed results with it, it worked on the top lashes well but not so much on the bottoms.
Sure it may look ridiculous but… well not that’s pretty much it.
Verdict? Meh, not bad.
I went with one of my classic looks today.
A wash of light purple over the lid first.
I was invited to the Lancome Blogger event as Michelle was here to talk about their new range.
Light pink glitter in the inner corners of the eyes.
I was quite excited as it’s not often other bloggers or Youtubers come to Australia!
Dark purple in a pointed “C” shape on the outer corners of the eyes.
We weren’t sure what was going to happen but it turned out to be an informal Q and A session.
White highlighter under the brow to give it a lift.
And a dot of white in the center of the lid to open the eyes up too.
Then blending it all together with a fluffy brush.
Michelle was really sweet and answered all of our questions.
A thick layer of eyeliner next, winging out the edges quite a bit.
As well as giving us information about how she started out on Youtube.
I also like to bring the liner down a little bit on the lower lash line too.
It was a really interesting afternoon!
Getting there!
White shimmer liner goes all over the lower waterline.
Be careful not to poke yourself!
Both Michelle and the PR ladies complimented my outfit which was very sweet of them!
I blended the liner out with a little cream shadow too.
James shot my video and of course he just enjoyed the macarons.
Blush time! I like to use a little light pink on the apples.
I was more interested in taking notes than macarons!
Now my favourite part… the lipstick!
I love these deep pink tones.
And applying an orange toned glitter gloss over it really makes the whole thing look awesome.
I hope other Youtubers will come and visit us here in Australia soon too!
Of course I filmed all of this and was about to leave before remembering that I had forgot something very important…
Eyelashes!
Clearly my brain wasn’t working properly this day.
But it’s an easy fix!
My favourite lashes are those that alternate between long points and shorter criss crosses.
Actually done this time!
Enough of this though, let’s see the event!
Michelle- You’re so cute, I just want to put you in my pocket!
So I want to thank Lancome, Myer and of course Michelle Phan for putting on such a lovely event.
It was really great to meet everyone, catch up with old friends and make some new friends too.
I hope we can all meet up again soon.
Hopefully Michelle enjoyed her time here in Australia and she can come back again soon for a catch up!
I really appreciated all of the effort everyone put into the event!
So hopefully everyone had as fun of a time as I did.
Thanks so much for everyone who took photos and videos with me too!
If you enjoyed the video make sure you check out the rest of my videos for more cute crafty things as well as some hair and make up.
Hope you guys had fun too and thanks so much for watching.

Morning Make Up – Fuchsia Fun Instructions
Welcome to another edition of Morning Make up in which I do my make out and we chat!
Today is a nice bright fuchsia which is still wearable!
Morning! I’m so excited because we just got approval from our landlord to get a dog!
unfortunately I still have to cover up this cut.
To cover pimples, cuts or anything else i use a dot of moisturiser to soften it up first.
Then some primer to hold the foundation on.
Then BB cream all over.
I’ve been waiting almost 10 years to get a dog, I’m beyond excited at the moment.
I pat some on my dark circles and the cut and leave it to dry for a few seconds.
Once it’s mostly dry, I pat again to blend it in.
This gives a really even finish and good coverage.
Mascara next!
I’m not sure which breed we will end up with as we’re going to rescue our dog from a shelter.
Champagne shimmer on the inner 2/3rds of the lid.
Something small and fluffy though!
White shimmer in the center of the lid concentrating around the lash line.
You guys are going to get so sick of all of the videos and photos I’m going to post.
There will be nothing but puppy spam for weeks!
Now the fuchsia!
I placed it in a rough pointed “C” shape on the outer corners.
We’ve been preparing the house since I got word from the realestate agent so now I just need to save up a little more money to have everything covered.
I want to be safe just in case we have unexpected vet bills or things like that.
And of course we have to get it some cute toys!
Time to blend it all together with a fluffy brush.
James is really excited too.
He always had dogs growing up but I haven’t had one since I was 7.
Next was eyeliner.
I used a fairly thin line with a wing so it didn’t cover the white.
My old dog was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Bernard.
He was really cute.
Lash time! these are just some natural length criss cross lashes.
He was very cute but not very smart.
Bergamot joined in my “waiting for lashes to dry” dance today.
And now some finishing powder to hold everything in place.
I can’t wait to visit some of the shelters.
I used a dark pink shimmer lipstick.
I have to think of some names too!
What are your suggestions for a small fluffy dog?
And a very shiny orange toned lipgloss.
Lastly a litte more white shimmer as a highlighter because I forgot before!
All done and covered!
I hope this was a useful video, please check the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.
Oh my god, puppy!
Bye!
I hate cleaning make up brushes. Well I hate cleaning most things, but I’m especially lazy when it comes to make up brushes. It’s such an important thing but it takes so long to properly clean them >_<
So this is the method I use when I’m doing a proper clean.
I use baking soda for cleaning brushes that have been used with just powder and a little mild shampoo for those used with foundations or anything liquidy. I’ve been wanting to try the vinegar method for that too so it’s on the shopping list.
While we’re here I thought I’d show you the main brushes I use in case anyone’s interested.Top: FoundationMiddle: Blush
Bottom: Powder
Top: Smudging
Middle: Eyeshadow
Bottom: Fluffing/blending
Top: Angled eyeliner
Bottom: Concealer
So why do I use baking soda and is it suitable for you too?
Baking soda is awesome for cleaning a whole lot of things. I always have a supply of it because I also use it in place of shampoo. I know it doesn’t bother my skin or face in the same way that some other products do because I already use it on my hair. If you have any allergies or sensitivities be very careful and consult a doctor before committing to putting something on your face. Patch testing is good too.
It’s also extremely cheap at around $1.50 a box. It may or may not be suitable for you to use on your brushes. Soaking is always risky with brushes because if they are not well made it can loosen the glue used to hold the bristles in and therefore cause shedding. If your brushes shed already I wouldn’t recommend soaking them. I prefer soaking to other methods because I feel like it cleans better but honestly that’s probably just a mental thing haha!
So first thing is to fill a small container with warm water and adding a couple of teaspoons of the baking soda. Mix it around but don’t worry if it doesn’t completely dissolve.
One by one add a brush to the water and swoosh it around in the liquid. Make sure to get all of the bristles wet, you’ll probably start seeing powders and pigments coming out.
The water looks pretty gross after a few brushes!
Tip the container out and refill it with fresh warm water. Add some more baking soda and leave the brushes to soak for 20 minutes or so. This is when I usually clean my foundation brushes.
Again this may or may not be suitable for your brushes.
Once they have soaked I give each brush a quick run under clean water and make sure there’s no more dirt there with my fingers.
Smooth the bristles into shape again and squeeze out any water.
Leave them to dry completely and you’ve got nice clean brushes ready to be used! I always leave this for a night when I know I won’t need them the next day so they can dry naturally. Some people will dry with a hair dryer to use right away but I don’t like that because it can loosen the glue as well as causing the bristles to dry out of shape.
