Serious white balance difference between the above and below photos, in real life it’s similar to the below.

Bourjois Heathy Mix Foundation

Price: $32 but can be found on sale at Priceline often for half price or buy one get one free.

Obtained: Bought

Thoughts:

I’m always on the hunt for foundations which are light enough for my skin and that also cover my freckles. This ticks both boxes and therefore makes me a happy girl. It’s apparently full of fruit and good things for your skin but I could take or leave all of that because all I really want to know is does it work and does it look good? The answer is a resounding yes.

It’s a fairly watery consistency which I like because it goes on smoothly. Application is best with a brush (for fuller coverage) or a sponge for lighter. I like that it covers my freckles almost entirely but looks natural and very un-deathmask-y. There are a wide variety of colours and it lasts all day for me whether I use a finishing powder or not.

The bottle isn’t particularly big but I can definitely forgive that on the fact that I don’t use much per day and it’s on sale so often at Priceline that it’s a good deal.

Would I buy Bourjois Heathy Mix Foundation again: Yes, it works well for me and matches my skin tone at a price I like.

Sax Wonderlash Dramatic Volume Mascara… Currently Reviewing

Sax-Mascara-Review-VioletLeBeauxDSC_7583_9907Sax-Mascara-Review-VioletLeBeauxP1000530_1070 copy

Sax Wonderlash Dramatic Volume Mascara

Price: $17.50

Obtained: PR provided.

Thoughts:

I haven’t really heard of SAX before I tried this mascara so I was interested to try both this and the other SAX products I received (lipstick and a smokey eye palette). I wore it over the course of a week but it didn’t really seem to agree with my lashes. The formula was very thick and the brush also super thick with bristles so I found it was actually hard to apply at times. It could be that I have particularly flexible eyelashes or something like that but getting it on was a challenge some days. When applied it lasted well and gave me nice thick lashes.

The biggest problem I had was the packaging, it has a plastic ring at the top (similar to most wand lipglosses) which wipes off most of the product when you remove the wand, very good idea but when you re-insert the want it also wipes it off going in. I found that I had to clean the top of it every time I used the product otherwise I ended up with dry caked mascara all over the opening. I wouldn’t mind that so much but considering it happened every time, the amount of product left behind just seemed a bit wasteful.

Overall I wasn’t particularly wowed by this one but I’ve seen quite a few positive reviews so I think it’s just a matter of personal preference.

Would I buy Sax Wonderlash Dramatic Volume Mascara again: I personally wouldn’t buy it but considering other people’s reactions I would suggest testing it out in store for yourself before making a decision.

Lancome Infinite Power Vibrating Mascara… Currently Reviewing

Lancome Infinite Power Vibrating Mascara

Price: $39.96

Obtained: Given in gift bag

Thoughts:

Vibrating mascara has always been a love/hate concept for me. I like the idea but I also don’t like the idea of vibrating things near my eyes because they’re very sensitive and ticklish. To get this one to vibrate you have to hold down the button on the lid which can be a bit annoying to do for long periods of time.  The formula is thick and very black. It thickens my lashes a whole lot but  also found that the thin brush made it harder to distribute easily. I wasn’t a fan of how it looked on the top lashes but the tiny prongs of the brush made it very easy to apply on the bottom lashes. This is one of my favorites to use on bottom lashes because of the brush. Overall I don’t think the vibrating really made a difference to application so I preferred to use it without.

Would I buy Lancome Infinite Power Vibrating Mascara again: Probably not. While I like it for bottom lashes the price is a bit high for something that I would only use on the bottom. The vibrating wasn’t so much use for me. That said it might be exactly what someone else is looking for on top too so definitely worth a test.

MOR Holiday Collection… Currently Reviewing

MOR-Holiday-Collection-Review-VioletLeBeauxDSC_7813_10708

I’ve done quite a few MOR reviews previously and as they are for the most part the same products with different scents I’m not going to go through each one this time but rather full your browser full of drool worthy photos and just add in some new notes to the bottom.

MOR Holiday Collection

Obtained: Sent by PR

Thoughts:

  • Insanely pretty yes? Beautiful packaging as always, I think the lovely bag and tea box has outdone anything I’ve seen so far from MOR.
  • The hand creams are all the same formulas of those I’ve reviewed before and the scents are again lovely.
  • The vanilla lipgloss (with the gold lid and dark bottom) smell divine and is a fairly runny consistency. I found the lid was a little too loose to keep in my handbag but have it sitting next to my desk to use every day. It doesn’t last as long as a lot of my other glosses but the smell is so nice I love it anyway.
  • The lip macaron was of a harder consistency and is living in my handbag at the moment. I’m not as fond of this smell as I am the other one but it’s still very nice. The design is lovely too because it’s quite thin so perfect to slip into a purse.
