Morning Make Up- Simple Blue Eyes

A new segment I’m trying out where in I show my morning make up routine for various days and chat about what I’m doing that day. Not really a tutorial, more of a random girly chat while we get ready together in the bathroom 😉

Today’s style features blue which is a colour I’ve recently started wearing a lot more. I am in love with blue eyeliner at the moment.

Today’s morning make up showcases my new obsession with blue eyeliner.
And also my lameness in debating if I need the new iphone 4s.
After my usual foundation routine I started by applying a thick winged line of liquid blue eyeliner.
James and I have a tradition of one upping each other in our phones.
My blue liner obsession started with this Mirenesse one, it’a such an interesting colour.
It started out when I got the iphone 3g and he swore he hated it.
To give definition I added a thin black line using liquid liner, very close to the lash line.
Then he stole it and I didn’t see it for 6 months while he played Bejewelled.
Eyeshadow time.
I applied a light blue all over the lid. I kept it very pale so it wasn’t too intense.
So after 6 months James got his own phone but he got the much better 3gs.
Blend up with some cream shimmer.
Finally this year I beat him again.
I added dark blue shadow matching the liner into the corner and crease to give a little depth.
My contract was up first so I got the iphone 4.
Use a fluffy brush to blend it in together well.
Of course now the 4s is out, his contract is up so I’m considering letting him upgrade.
I used a thick coat of mascara and regular false lashes.
Then stealing it to play bejewelled on as a payback.
Clearly we are both very mature.
With this look I only use a little bit of blush to avoid that 80’s feel.
Hmm so who will win the battle of the phones?
As always lipgloss is the last step.
It’s almost as bad as our scrabble games.
So there you have it, pale blue eyes which are quite wearable and a vicious cycle of phone out doing.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.
Bye!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair… Currently Reviewing

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

Price: $150

Obtained: Gift Bag

Thoughts:

I was really excited to try this out because everything I’ve read about it has been so hyped up. I received two bottles in various gift bags so I had a nice supply of it to do a long term test.

I used it for around 3 months before I started testing other things and while every night my skin felt really nice I didn’t notice any long term difference in the textre. That could be because I’m 24 and aging isn’t a huge problem for me or it could be that it just doesn’t go well with my skin, I really don’t know either way.

It smells kind of like a lot of those natural moisturizers which while not being my favorite smell it is quite refreshing when you put it on. I only needed a couple of drops for my whole face so while it’s definitely in the luxury price range you can be pretty frugal with it. In the end I gave the rest to my Mother because I felt bad wasting such an expensive product when I wasn’t seeing results because I was out of the target market for it. She really liked it so I think it’s probably best for those with aging concerns, in a couple of years I’ll be back trying it again hahaha!

Would I buy Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair again: Not now but I might buy it as a gift and I will try it again in a few years when I’m more concerned about aging.

New Camera Decoden Panasonic Lumix GF3

So if you follow me on Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr/whatever you probably saw I got my Christmas present early this year. What was it? A new camera! 😀 A Micro 4/3rd Panasonic GF3 which I’ve been pining over since it was first announced around 8 months ago. I’ll be doing a full review on it later (in which I test whether it can do all of the things they show in the cute Japanese/Taiwanese ads by re-enacting them!) and I’ve got two snapshots posts scheduled for the weekend of the first night I took it for a spin but in the mean time this is how I deco’d it  with a mixture of Swarovski and pearls ^_^

VioletLeBeaux-Decoden-Camera-Panasonic-Lumix-GF3-8321_10973This time, because it was a nice pink already, I wanted to go for something less over the top and more cohesive so I made the flowers a feature and just paved in the rest. I put my initial on the lens and custom painted all of the pearls. I’m planning to make a couple of other lens caps so I have interchangeable ones. I also have to do the other lens it came with and the lenshood flower thingy.VioletLeBeaux-Decoden-Camera-Panasonic-Lumix-GF3-8319_10971

For the moment I’ve left the back plain because I’m out of gems but that may change in the future. I also want to make a custom embroidered strap for myself like the one I made for James last year too. I should have more time for that when I get back 😀

So this design I debated over for quite a while because I waited so long for the camera that I wanted it to be really me 😀

This time I also recovered the entire deco surface with thin double sided tape before I used epoxy glue on top of it because I have a feeling I’m going to want to change the design fairly often. I probably didn’t need to do this because it’s a metal housing but better safe than sorry!

All of the things I considered before settling on the flowers:

So there you go, I like it quite a bit and I think I’ll enjoy being able to change it all on a whim. Now I just need to decide if I’m going to sell my old deco’d TZ10 before or after we go to the zoo for Christmas. I am debating because it has a fantastic zoom on it so it’s great to take photos of far away animals XD
