A new segment I’m trying out where in I show my morning make up routine for various days and chat about what I’m doing that day. Not really a tutorial, more of a random girly chat while we get ready together in the bathroom 😉
This is my day’s worth of beauty for a trip to Adelaide including 2 plane trips.

Welcome to a special morning make up edition.
This issue/episode/whatever I’ll take you through how I get ready, did two hair styles and took it all out for the Adelaide Beauty Conference.
We start at around 6am at my apartment. I had put my hair up into pin curls the night before and tied it all in a scarf.
Shower and getting dressed then moisturiser and primer.
This early in the morning I’m not laying much attention to the order I’m going things in.
I wear minimal make up for the plain trips so I can sleep in later.
Foundation, highlighter and blush.
I prefer to spent more time on hair in the mornings because I can do manke up on the plain but it’s harder to do hair there.
Undoing pin curls.
This time I only did a couple on each side because I knew I would have time to mess with them later.
Basically I just unpin them, brush through each to remove any kinks and retwist them with my fingers.
Nice and easy.
I’m pretty much on auto pilot this early in the morning.
I don’t function or smile much without my morning cup of tea and breakfast.
Brush the top layer of hair to get rid of any separation between the curls.
Straighten the fringe and maybe the top parts if there are pin marks.
Add a pretty headband, spray it and finished.
Simple and classic.
For extra bonus points tease the underneath of your fringe so it doesn’t split during the day.
Super magic time travel!
Ok so now we’re on the plain and I was feeling a tiny bit more awake.
This is my set up.
Firstly eyeliner, brown, top and 1/2 of the bottom.
I like flying, it’s nice to have with a couple of hours to myself with no interruptions.
Sparkly highlighter under the brow.
The flight to Adelaide was really quick though.
Light purple shadow all over the lid.
It felt like we were hardly in the air for 20 minuts between take off and descent.

This is a series of videos in collaboration with Celeste from Becoming Beautiful where we try different styles on her in 2-3 minutes. This particular one was the last we did that day and we were just randomly experimenting with different things. It’s a bit crazy but still fun! Lots of plaits, ribbons, extensions and randomness ^_^

How To Do A Big Random Ribbony Updo Hair Style
Welcome to another episode of Styling Celeste where I try out random hairstyles on my unwitting victim. lovely friend Celeste.
Today’s style is a random big ribbon and plaited updo.
We were winging it for this style and making it up as we went along.
Start by sectioning the front from each ear to the top.
Clip some ribbons and hair extensions at one ear.
Braid from one side of the head over to the other.
This takes a while.
Pull the rest of your hair into a high ponytail.
Add some more ribbons and extensions.
Tease the hell out of the ponytail and pin most of it up.
Leave a couple of strands hanging down.
Plait a couple of strands which are left down and pin them around randomly.
Loop any extra ribbon through the hair randomly.
Taadaa random ribbony updo.
Now see how we get rid of all that teasing.
Celeste’s hair has only ever been teased twice so it’s so super easy to undo,
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.

Bobbly Updo Hairstyle Instructions
Hello and welcome to another hair tutorial!
This look is a different take on a standard updo.
I do this style mostly when I haven’t washed my hair in a while and want to hide oily roots.
So the first step is to use a dry shampoo.
Pull the hair up into a high ponytail.
I like this style because once it’s in place and pinned it takes a lot to ruin, great for windy days.
On the final pull through the elastic, don’t pull the ends completely through.
It should look something like this with ends at the front.
Push the ends to the side for now.
Take a section of the loop and pull it to the side.
Pinch it in half so it forms two loops and then pin back to your head.
Keep going taking section by section, pinch them in half and pin down.
Pin some to the front and some to the back so they eventually hide the hairband.
It should start to look like a bunch of random bobby loops, hence the name of the tutorial.
Keep going until you run out of hair.
Now let’s deal with the front bits.
Grab your straightener and use it to curl them slightly.
If you don’t like the way they sit you can pin them up higher.
This probably works better if you have shorter hair than me.
If you’re like me, you’ll probably get distracted talking to your friend while you do it.
Pin, curl and straighten until you’re happy.
Finally add a pretty hair clip to finish it off.
I’m using a headband but worn horizontally so it looks into the updo.
Hairspray and you’re good.
Done and ready for a yummy dinner with friends.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.

Welcome to a fun new series of videos that I’m doing.
It’s called Morning Make Up with Violet and that pretty much describes it.
This is my first finished look.
Rather than doing complete from scratch tutorials every time I’m going to do short videos which have basic instructions as I do my make up to go out.
First step is foundation and mascara.
I love experimenting with make up so this will be a fun way for me to try new things and loks I normally wouldn’t.
Next thing to do is add small corner false lashes.
I’ll probably talk about my life along the way here too so hopefully you find it interesting.
Today I’m using minimal foundation for a fresh look.
I hate waiting for lashes to dry so I tend to sing terribly and dance around while I wait.
Now it’s time for thin eyeliner with a bit of a wing at the end.
My foundation is pretty shiny, I forget how terrible shimmery BB cream looks on camera.
Today I was getting dressed up for a double date with Celina and Toby.
Celina does beautiful make up tutorials and Toby makes awesome music, check out their links in the description.
I applied a light cream as a highlighter under the brows and down to the crease.
Yellow tones are really starting to grow on me more.
Bright metallic gold all over the lids.
We ended up going to dinner at Hanaichi for Japanese curry and chicken nanban.
I added a subtle light pink in a pointed C shape and blended into the gold.
James love Japanese style pork curry so funny because before he met me he would have never thought of trying it.
Start adding hot pink over the lighter pink at the lash line.
Until the camera falls down.
Oops you guys ok in there?
Nothing broken? good.
After that excitement keep adding the hot pink to blend in to the liner and give it some depth.
James had never tried bubble tea until we started dating either, he pretended to like it for months because I did.
Take the pink right along the lash line.
Eventually he fessed up to not liking it but after drinking it for so long it actually grew on him and now he loves it.
Use a nude liner along half the bottom of the eye and extend the wing out.
I thought it needed more gold so I added more to the bottom inner corners of my eyes.
Lastly I packed on some bronze shadow over the bottom liner for sparkle.
I’ve been considering turning the comments section on YT on lately, I don’t at the moment because I have enough trouble replying quickly on my blog.
What do you think? Do you prefer to comment here on YT? Would you mind if I didn’t reply as quickly?
As always let me know if you have any suggestions!
Lastly I added some nude lipstick and a bit of gloss over the top.
Editing this is making me hungry for curry again!
All done and ready for a night out of the town. So there you have it. I hope you had as much fun watching as I did going out to dinner!
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.

This is a series of videos in collaboration with Celeste from Becoming Beautiful where we try different styles on her. This particular one is a quick way to make a plaited headband. Because she has dark hair we used a pink extension so you can see the details.

How To Do A Plaited Headband Hair Tutorial
Welcome to another episode of Styling Celeste where I try out random hairstyles on my unwitting victim. lovely friend Celeste.
Today’s style is a plaited headband.
Grab a section from the top and sides and clip it back.
Pick up a 1 inch section at the side just behind the ear.
Plait it!
Celeste has black hair so to make it more interesting we added a pink clip in hair extension.
Cute.
Let down the rest of the hair in front of the plait to hide the start.
Flip it over the top to the other side and pin.
Arrange your hair and continue on your day looking adorable.
Taadaa.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.

Well I managed to coerce Celeste into being my guinea pig and giving it a try out, here are our results!
So in short the answer is YES! It is indeed opaque enough to be used on dark/black hair. The main difference is that I had to pay more attention to where I was putting it so it didn’t get everywhere, mistakes show up more easily. The colour was just as vibrant on dark hair, though we didn’t leave it to dry long enough before I used the straightener on her fringe so some of it wiped off. So the lesson is don’t be impatient like me!
Hope that answers all of your questions 😀 It was a fun experiment!
