Short Hair Retro Curly Updo Instruction.
Hello!
Meet Stef, she has short hair and it totally awesome.
Today we’re trying out a curly style with a retro flare to it.
Start by loosely curling the hair all over.
This is really a look in itself.
You can add a cute alice band and you’re good to go!
Grab a small section of hair at the top of the head.
Twist it once and the base and flick the ends forward.
Pin it in place and it becomes a small pouf.
The curls are really important to this because they give it so much more volume.
Repeat with another section right behind the first.
And then one more behind that.
From the side you can see that it makes a soft messy updo style.
Make sure to leave some longer drapey bits down to soften the look.
To complete the look tie a chiffon scarf around the base.
The key to keeping it on is to not tie it too tightly.
Pin it if you need to and that’s done!
Taadaa!
Special thanks to Stef for being my awesome model/victim for the day.

How To Get The Perfect Bun With A DIY Hair Donut Instructions.
A while ago I made a DIY hair donut, here are two of my favorite ways to use it for the perfect shaped buns!
Both versions start with a high ponytail.
Number 1!
Wrap the donut or sausage around the ponytail base tightly.
Fluff the ponytail out so it completely covers the donut in all directions like this and brush it smooth.
Place a stretchy elastic band over the whole thing.
Hairspray it smooth.
Take the ends and wrap them around the band.
You can plait the ends or even push them up and back into the middle of the donut again if you like.
Done!
Very simple and easy to do.
Version 2.
Pull the ponytail forward and place the donut under it.
Start rolling upwards.
Spread the hair out along the sausage as you go.
When you get to the top, curl the whole thing around the base of the ponytail.
Fluff it around the back to cover the join.
Hairspray and add an accessory.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.

New Decoden iPhone 4 Case

My iphone case was getting a bit beaten up and dirty so it was time to change it up for something new and fun!

The end result!

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-92_17231

This was something I’d thought about for a while because my current style is trying to talk the line between super cute and a little bit older and classier. I want a phone which can be super cute every day but one that I won’t need to worry about pulling out in a meeting XDSo what is the solution!?INTERCHANGEABLE SLIDING CASES!I bought this cute phone case on ebay for $5, the same one in stores here is $30 >_< Ebay for the win!

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-49_17106

Anyway the cool thing about this case is that it comes apart and the back plate slides out so you can remove the back plate without having to take the whole case off. They sell a lot of different designs which are classy and quite understated but this means there’s the possibility of carrying different plates and switching out on the occasion 😀 You  could even have different ones depending on outfits! WIN.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-48_17105

So I didn’t want to wait another few weeks to get different plates posted and they didn’t have any blingy ones so I decided to make my own from scratch.

You need:

  • An old sketch book with a plastic cover
  • Scalpel and scissors
  • Coloured pencil
  • Bling
  • Epoxy glue
  • Paint matching your plate

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-47_17104

You need something hard to use for the face plate. Plastic is good so I recycled an old sketchbook cover, it’s the perfect width to fit into the grooves of the case.

I traced around the edge of the original plate to get the shape.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-50_17107

This is where the coloured pencil is useful because it shows up on the black sketchbook.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-51_17108

After cutting it out and placing it into the case it looked like this:

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-53_17110

Yay! Now you need to cut out a hole for the camera 😀 Again trace with the pencil.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-54_17111

Mine next to the original!

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-55_17112

Done! Now it’s time for the deco to begin 😀 Deco looks best if you have the same colour base, because it’s so dark I used a white acrylic base coat first.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-56_17113

Then painted it pink with nail polish.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-58_17115

So before I could go any further I had to remove the old deco on my phone. Some of you guys asked when I originally did it whether the contact would really protect the phone… the answer is yes so let’s see how much!

I VERY carefully slid a scalpel around the edges between the contact and the phone. I angled it a little upwards at all times so as to avoid scratching the phone. Seriously, if you’re going to this please be extremely careful.

Because the contact was covered with epoxy glue to hold on the gems it was very hard and easily popped up straight away once I wiggled it a bit.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-59_17116

I managed to remove the entire piece without damaging it 😀

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-61_17118

Aaaand crappy photo but my phone doesn’t have a scratch on it. In fact it’s in far better condition than the front is XD

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-60_17117

In fact, I made yet another face plate using the deco I removed by resticking it to a white piece of paper and then another plate I cut out. WIN!

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-62_17119

Aaanyway, back to deco-ing the new one.

First up I lined up the large pieces and glued them down with epoxy. These are bits of necklaces that BGDino sent me!

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-64_17121

I wanted to make sure that I didn’t deco too far around the edges so I kept it in the outside case from this point on. Next I added pearls and other large pieces around the edges of the necklace.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-65_17122

And filled the rest in with some small diamantes.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-67_17124

Super simple design.

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-92_17231VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-93_17232

And the best part is I can make as many of these as I like and change it up often!

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-94_17233

I’ll never get bored 😀

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-95_17234

I’m going to try making some painted ones next too 😀

VioletLeBeaux-decoden-bling-iphone-96_17235

You could even change them depending on how big the handbag you’re using is haha! Little for dinners and then big for and everyday bag XD

VioletLeBeauxP1060301_17240

Hope you guys enjoyed! What do you think my next design should be? I could do a Bergamot one!!

Morning Make Up- Bright and Clean

A new segment I’m trying out where in I show my morning make up routine for various days and chat about what I’m doing that day. Not really a tutorial, more of a random girly chat while we get ready together in the bathroom 😉

Today’s style is a nice bright look which starts with a wash of beige and a touch of pink. Hope you enjoy 😀

Time for another random morning make up video in which I do my make up and we chat.
Today we’re doing a bright white look.
Foundation first as usual.
A generous coat of mascara next.
Today I’m testing my new lighting set up.
White shimmer pencil on the inner corner and waterline.
It’s much brighter than the old one but I haven’t quite gotten the camera settings right yet.
A beige shadow with gold flecks all over the lid as a base.
I’ve been collecting things for the perfect set up over the last year but it’s slow going.
Light pink shadow on the outer half on the lid.
It would be very cool to have a whole room dedicated to filming and blogging.
Shimmer white highlighter under the brows.
I’ll add that to my house hunting list.
To give it some depth I added some plum to the outer corners in a pointed C shape.
At the moment I have a little dressing table and I do my blogging from a table at the couch.
And blend it all together.
It’s pretty comfy but it would be great to have room for a big desk.
Eyeliner time.
This time I used a liner with a purple shine to it, very pretty.
Or a big table for sewing.
Me sewing table is next to the tv and it doubles as a photography space.
Some nice big false lashes top off the look.
I’m very lucky to have decent floor space to lay out sewing projects for cutting.
Light pink blush suits this look perfectly as does a nice pink lipgloss.
I’ll add my requests to my completely unrealistic “when I’m a millionaire” list.
Of course another coat of mascara couldn’t hurt.
Give it time and hard work and I’ll get there!
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.

How To Make A Felt Pinwheel Craft Tutorial

Another basic craft for today ^_^ Pinwheels!

I’m sure you all made these in school out of paper but this is the more permanent version which can be an adorable hair accessory or brooch depending on the size you make them.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-91_1381 copy

You need:

  • Felt
  • Needle and thread
  • Scissors
  • Something pretty to put in the middle such as a button etc.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-83_1381 copy

You need to cut out 2 felt squares, I cut mine by folding a piece of felt like this and cutting around it.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-84_1381 copy

After cutting fold two of the points together and then again. Press the folds down so they leave a slight indent and unfold. This is the easiest way to mark out where you need to cut.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-85_1381 copy

Snip down the folds but not all the way to the center. You should have something like this:

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-87_1381 copy

Repeat with the other sheet of felt.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-86_1381 copy

Now you have the pieces you just need to fold it together! Place the pieces of felt on top of each other and fold one of the points to the center like this.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-88_1381 copy

Fold every second point into the middle. You can move the different coloured felts so more of one or the other is displayed.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-89_1381 copy

Stitch them in the middle.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-90_1381 copy

And then cover the stitching with something pretty like this button I made in another post. You could use a ribbon bow or a flower too.

VioletLeBeaux-Pin-wheel-tutorial-94_1382 copy

Stitch the whole thing to a bobby pin or a hair clip and that’s all there is to it. Yay for repurposed children’s crafts 😀

3D Japanese Nail Art Pastel Leopard Print and Bows
Clara H Nail Art
Leopard Print Bling!
Today I got my nails filled and redone by Clara H.
First the old jewels and 3D parts were removed.
Poor Bergamot!
The polish was removed too.
Cuticles treated too and the old nails buffed down.
Next the bare nail was filled in with acrylic and shaped into place.
They were buffed to a nice smooth finish.
Of course this all came with a side of girly chat!
Top coating for protection next.
Then it was all about the design.
I picked pastel base.
The pastel colours were painted on as a base.
Cute colours!
Clara painted the leopard print with pastel acrylic paint.
To make the leopard print style she used light brown random splotches.
The darker brown to outline them.
Of course, that was just the start. Acrylic bows first.
To make the bows she used two large balls of acrylic.
Made dents in the middle and added a small bow for the middle tie.
After the bows were complete it was bling time!
The large pieces of bling were held on with clear acrylic.
After the big pieces, small damantes and pearls were added around them.
Lastly a top coat to protect it all.
I love that they are blingy but not too over the top.
Of course with nails this cute we wanted to share them!
So beautiful. Thank you Clara!
I hope you enjoyed watching these beautiful nails come together.
Clara is super talented so if you’re in Melbourne make sure to check her out at Tsumiki Design.
Soon clara is going to make nail tutorial videos on her channel so make sure you check it out and subscribe with the links in the description.
