Daisy Nail Art Instructions!
Today I thought I’d do some fun Spring themed nail art.
I’ll be doing some daisies.
Paint a base coat alternating fingers in light green and yellow.
You may need a few coats but it should look something like this.
I’ll be drawing the daisies with a pen from The Face shop.
You can also use a regular thin brush.
Start by drawing a line then make several intersecting lines.
If you keep the lines thin, they will form cute little flowers.
Draw the little flowers all over the nails.
Keep it random.
Remember that the lines don’t need to be completely straight or even and you can do different sized flowers by starting with different sized lines.
Here’s a nice close up so you can see some of the details better.
So start with one line.
Then add a cross.
Then diagonals.
Then fill in all the little gaps between.
I like to make the petals a little bit wobbly too because it gives a cute effect.
Add a little bright yellow dot to the middle of each flower.
Now you just need to top coat it once it’s all dry and you’re good to go.
Pretty and very Spring-ish

As I work through my Home Sweet Home projects one thing has always been a bit of a mystery: how to brighten up the tv area? The tv is black, the speakers are black, the stand is black, it’s all black. It’s like a black hole in the living room. I didn’t want to touch the tv or the stand so I decided to give the speakers a mini make over.
Tadaaa, slightly less black:
You need:
Speakers with a removable cover (these are James’s Logitech G51 speakers)
Pretty paper or fabric
Scissors, screw driver etc
Double sided tape
First clean the speakers and remove any dust. Take off the plastic covers, our speakers just unscrewed at the sides.
Use the cover as a guide to cut a strip of paper long enough to go all the way around.
My speakers curved at the back so to get the paper to fit snugly I made several small cuts in the middle.
Like this:
Use double sided tape to stick it to the speakers. The cuts will allow it to fit to the curve easily.
Now pop the plastic back on and screw in place.
Easy!
Repeat to all of your other speakers. James has a surround system which was originally from his music room so I had to do 5 of them.
I added some stuffed toys too and it brightened up the area nicely. I’ll show you the whole thing when I do the big house reveal. We’re getting SO close to being finished!!
I can’t decide if I want to keep the speaker covers on or replace them with some white tulle to make it even lighter. More thought needed!
I’m so excited to be finished the apartment, having made all of these changes has made such a difference in my life!

Inspired by that, here is my ultimate lazy day make up!
And in another lazy-ish style, here’s how I use a crimper to get some volume at the top of my head. It’s easy and it lasts really well. Good alternative to teasing for simple styles!
And as if that wasn’t enough, here’s the laziest vlog ever 😀 We went to Werribee Open Range Zoo so here are some super cute animals! You know how much I love Meerkats!

The window stickers we got from Daiso were almost the first thing we got to decorate our apartment. They really made the apartment brighter and they made it a little less awkward that our windows look directly into the neighbours lounge room.
Unfortunately after 2 years in the sun they were a little worse for wear 🙁 Most of them were fine but a couple were melty and faded.Off to Daiso we went for some replacements! This time rather than the stars I went for something a little more grown up.
Cherry blossoms for a more Spring/Summer feel. I would actually like to change them for every season now! But they only make stars and cherry blossoms =(
They’re a lot harder to see on the windows but they’re so pretty!
I positioned them to flow through the three windows like a breeze is blowing:
They certainly brighten up the place.
The theme I decided to go with for the apartment is floral so this really fits in well. I’m considering adding some matching ones to the kitchen too, what do you think?
So when I brought Lottie home one of the things I was looking forward to was doing some doggie diy projects. I wasn’t counting on all of our friends and family falling in love with her and spoiling her rotten XD
It was almost a month after we got her until she was bored over her other toys and I wanted to make her something else.
She enjoys yarn so I made her a bow shaped tug-o-war thing out of the yarn she likes.
She is completely obsessed with this particular yarn for some reason, she prefers squishy yarns, I assume because it’s soft.
Let’s get started!
Tie a loop.
Pull the yarn through the loop forming another loop.
Pull it tight. Pull the yarn through again and pull, through and pull etc.
It forms a crochet style chain.
Keep going until you have a very long string.
Cut the end off and pull it through the loop.
Pull it tight so it knots off and won’t come undone.
Arrange the rope in loops which lay flat like this:
Tie the middle very tightly. The point of this toy is so the dog spends ages pulling it apart so the tighter you tie it the longer it will take the dog to do it.
Make a second shorter rope, I plaited this one just to make it a little more interesting.
Tie it rightly around the middle a couple of times so it makes it even more bow like and that’s done!
Of course it only works if your dog isn’t extremely lazy XD
Lottie wasn’t interested during nap time haha!
After she actually woke up properly she tore the hell out of it. It took her a week to undo all fo the loops then I tied it back up again and she started from scratch. Never ending fun for her. Even more fun if you hide a treat in the middle. Now I’ve started making things like this I’m thinking of more I can do!
Crimpers maybe belong back in the 90’s but they can be used slightly more selectively to create lots of volume around the top of the head. .

Use A Crimper For Extra Volume Instructions!
Good morning.
Today’s video is on how to use a crimper to get some extra volume!
I got this crimper quite a while ago but never used it until recently.
Clip away the very top section of your hair.
Apply heat protector to the roots.
Take a very thin section from one side and crimp for around 10 seconds right at the roots.
Flip it out of the way and repeat the process with a section underneath it.
You can see the zigzag pattern that the crimper leaves.
And one more under that.
When you bring them all back they will be super puffy.
The more sections you crimp, the more volume you’ll get.
Repeat on the other side.
The zigzags give volume and because they are at the roots they are hidden by the hair on top of them.
You can vary the technique a bit depending on the finished hairstyle you want.
Just remember to leave enough un-crimped hair at the top to cover all of the crimped pieces.
Don’t forget the back too!
The are where you want to crimp will change depending on where your part is or which sections will be visible on the final look.
Shake out the hair and separate all of the crinkles with your fingers.
Hairspray if needed.
Super volume!
The volume also lasts for quite a long time because the crimps will last as long as your hair normally takes heat styling.
