This is such a fun look and really doesn’t take too long to do! I had way too much fun making this video including doing the Charleston for far longer than I actually included in the video XD
Hope you enjoyed it!

Today I was a bit inspired by the remake of The Great Gatsby so I wanted to do a look suited to that. Neither my look or the looks in the movie are particularly accurate for the time period but they sure are fun!

The Great Gatsby Inspired Hair/Make Up Instructions:
Hello, today we’re going to have some fun with a look inspired by the new Great Gatsby movie!
Hey besties! Hmm, that 20’s theme party is in 20 minutes! How can I get ready in time?
I’ve got it!
A cute hat and fake finger waves!
I’m a freaking genius!
Ok, let’s get started!
Separate your fringe and curl it under using whatever method you’re comfortable with.
Part your hair in the middle and then separate a piece of hair on the side.
Brush it around so it forms a wave that finishes just above your ear, then pin it in place!
Using the same section of hair, form a second wave that finished behind your ear like this. Then pin it in place!
Repeat on the other side.
Form a wave that finishes just above your ear, then pin it in place.
My hair was already curled for this but you can do this look with straight or curly hair.
This version is a way to quickly cheat at making finger waves if you have a hat handy.
A hat can cover anything!
Once you reach the back, fold all the remaining hair up and pin it to the top of your head.
This style does work better with shorter hair.
Make sure that all your pins are above the level of your hat line.
Now smooth it all down with some hairspray. You cant have a 20’s look with fly-aways!
This looks alright but just wait until you add a hat!
BAM! Super cute! And that’s how you do super quick/easy/lazy almost finger waves.
Now you just need to top off the look with some make up.
Obviously if this was a real 1920’s look you would start from scratch but this was for a last minute costume party.
The key to 20’s eye shadow is to create a darker line around your crease.
Then a darker line around your lash line as well.
Line your waterline in black and bring some of the shadow down to soften it up a little.
You don’t want a sharp wing, you’re aiming for a rounder shape.
Use lots of mascara on your top and bottom lashes.
These looks are quite bottom lash heavy and that’s how you get that doe-eyed look that was so popular back then.
Add a darker shade of lipstick and that’s it!
Now you’re ready to look out a window pining for your lost love.
Now charleston your way all over that dance floor!
I hope you guys enjoyed the tutorial. Check the link in the description for more photos and other tutorials!

How To Use Pastels For Temporary Hair Colour
Hope you’re having a good day it’s time for another hair tutorial.
Have you ever wondered how you could get temporary, bright, cute hair colours without having to worry about the commitment?
Oh my god I sound like an informercial.
Well there are several ways to do it but my favorite answer is using soft art pastels.
Please don’t use oil pastels for this. Oil pastels and soft pastels are not the same thing.
Soft pastels have a chalky feeling where as oil pastels are obviously really oily.
So you’re not going to get the same effect.
The pastels I’m using are from Daiso and they were $2.80.
The hardest thing about this tutorial is picking the colour.
For the actual technique, all you need to do is separate the hair you want to colour.
Put a piece of cardboard or paper under it to protect the hair underneath.
And draw the pastel on.
You can make it as bright as you want just by drawing more on. Super easy!
Before you ask, yes it does work on dark hair.
If you have dark hair you may need to apply a bit more to get the colour as bright.
Keep in mind also that artists pastels come in different grades so make sure to look for a soft pastel that is really pigmented.
Don’t forget to do the underneath and the ends as well.
So far I haven’t experienced any damage using this technique on myself or others.
If you are concerned or you’ve had hair damage in the past, I would always suggest that you go to a hairstylist and get them to look over your hair first just in case.
Once you are finished with the colour, add some hair spray to seal it in.
Then just brush it through with the rest of the hair and you’re good to go.
Afterwards you can just shampoo your hair and get rid of the colour completely.
It’s a great way to have crazy colours on the weekend if you’re working in an office or still going to school with strict dress codes.
Now that I’ve tried it with some different pinks, I think I want to try it with blues and purples.
I think that would be super cute.
I hope this was a useful video, good luck if you give it a try.
Make sure you check out the blog post linked in the description, there’s a photo tutorial there you can download as well.
And thanks so much for watching, bye!

Neutral Eye Make Up Instructions!
It’s time for another edition of Morning Make Up where I do my make up and we chat!
And today we’re doing something a little bit different, well different for me anyway: Neutrals!
These are the products and brushes that I’m using today.
Starting of course, with your regular foundation routine.
Today I wore a bronze neutral look so let’s get started!
Clip your hair back. There’s a tutorial on my blog on how to make this particular little velcro clippy.
Apply a nice thick coat of mascara.
Those of you who are observant will probably notice that things are a little bit different in this video.
But let’s get to the make up first.
I’m using a white shimmer pencil just as a highlighter under the brows then smudging it out with a finger.
Then I’m just going to seal it in with a little bit of white shadow.
So what do you guys think of the new set up?
Now that I’ve given the whole house a make over, it seemed a shame not to use it!
I’m giving the whole lid a wash with some light gold shadow here to act as a base for all of the other shadows.
So I’m ditching the backdrop for now and we’re going to try some more tutorials here.
This set up is definitely a little bit different from my old one but hopefully it’s an improvement!
Next I’m using some darker bronze just to give some depth to the outer corner.
I’m applying it in a pointed “C” shape.
Turn on captions or visit my blog for a full transcript.
Today’s Morning Make Up is simple and good for every day looks. It’s basically my go to style which involves minimal effort. I love looking good but I’m so lazy in the mornings XD
It’s still Winter in my mind so here’s another very basic nail video featuring some snowflakes!

Today’s style features my simple every day style. It’s no fuss and goes well when I want that extra 10 minutes sleep in 😀 .

Morning Make Up Instructions
Welcome to another edition of Morning Make Up where I do my make up and we chat.
Today’s look is simple for everyday.
I’m up early today because both James’ and my parents are visiting.
Foundation first as usual though.
A little highlighter under the brow and a wash of champagne shimmer over the whole lid.
I’m totally not a morning person!
Then a dot of white in the middle of the eye.
It takes me a good couple of hours to get my brain away even with tea.
A tiny bit of pale pink on the outer corner next to give some definition.
I tend to go to bed very late though so it kind of makes up for sleeping in… so I keep telling myself anyway!
I’m pretty sure that if I keep telling myself that enough it’s true right?
Blending it all together!
Today we’re taking James and my parents around Melbourne.
Mascara next!
James’ Dad is a huge Collingwood supporter so they are going to go catch a game too.
I don’t have a football team which is very un-Melbourne of me.
Some thin liquid liner with a wing.
While they’re out I think the rest of us will find somewhere nice to eat!
Today I was awake enough to put on some lashes but if I’m too sleepy I won’t bother.
I’m really bad at being a tour guide though, I never know where to take visitors.
We usually just take people to the same places over and over again.
It’s kind of boring, you know… so here’s our McDonalds…
A little blush to make me look more awake!
I think we’ll probably just end up at the claw machines.
Add some lippy and I’m all done!
We’ve lived here for 2 years and I still don’t know where anything is it’s kind of sad.
And we’re all done.
It’s pretty but it’s still quite subtle.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching!
Bye!
In the spirit of trying some new things I decided to give the peach colours from my 88 palette a spin 😀 Morning Make Up with peach!
I started off making a video on my tips for keeping your fringe nice in Melbourne’s insane weather and instead I got a bit carried away and did a video with 4 fringe styles XD
