Time for some more random completed projects. One of the things that’s been missing from here for a while is pictures of me actually wearing the crafts that I’ve made. A couple of people have pointed out that they miss it so there are some photos in this post of me wearing some of the things I’ve made recently!
My biggest recent project (that I’ve actually finished) was knitting this skirt. It was really just a way to use up my yarn stash and also try out making a skirt for the first time.
It took around a week of knitting during eps of Buffy at night.
Taadaaa…
Much shorter and not my normal style but I think I like it anyway. I didn’t really have anything to go with so I paired it with a plain singlet.
I’m not usually comfortable without something covering my arms though so I re-coordinated it in a more “me” way with a cardigan…
Much more comfortable and still pretty cute! Looking at these photos reminds me I need to add more pink to my hair though!
Another random knitting project I completed was a very basic 1 hour pompom sleepy kitty scarf. I was a bit disappointed with the yarn because the amount of string between pompoms caused gaps. Maybe better in garter stitch but I can’t decide if I have enough patience to try it again XD
A lot of people requested photos of the overalls tutorial I made so taadaa…
They are insanely comfy for wearing around the house… not that I wear stockings and heels with them usually haha!
And now my most comfy outfit! This is what I wear when I come home from a big event and I’m too tired to take out the hair and make up straight away. Throw on a big comfy jumper and big fluffy slippers and BAM relaxation. The jumper is from my tutorial on old sweater customisation here.
Ok now to update those posts with the photos XD

Before I get into the special outfit post of the day I just wanted to put in a little announcement. I’ve been nominated for the Sydney Writer’s Centre “Best Australian Blogs Competition”! Very exciting 😀 I’m not sure the category I’m up for but as well as the regular awards I’ve been nominated for the People’s Choice Award!
If you would like to vote in the awards (not just for me, there are lots of other amazing bloggers nominated too) just click the banner below to be taken to the form. If you want to vote for me I’m on the 3rd page of blogs under V for Violet ^_^
So yeah I just wanted to say thank you to all of you reading this because when I started this blog years ago I had no idea the awesome places it would take me or the wonderful people I would meet, so THANK YOU for reading!!!
Now on to today’s outfit post! This is a special version of this too because the outfit was a huge surprise ^_^ You remember last year when I held the One Day in Paradise competition for their 1 year anniversary? I found a beautiful Jesus Diamate dress and debated with you guys in the comments and on Twitter whether I should buy it. Well last week a package turned up in my letterbox. Turns out Marie (who is the incredibly sweet owner of One Day in Paradise) sent it to me as a present *_*I just about had a heart attack when I opened the box!! |
So ruffly and pretty!
I wore this outfit to meet Thomas and Sakie who are lovely bloggers from Japan. So happy because I finally got an excuse to try Max Brenner too XD Photos of that to come in the next edition of snapshots.
This is the kind of dress you just want to spin in XD
Totally love it, can’t wait to try out different ways to coordinate it!

Outfit time! This post is a bit of a mixed bag out outfits because some are nice and dressed up while some are super casual!
This is what I wore to an Illamasqua event more on that in tomorrow’s post. I love these stockings!Dress- Made by me Cardigan- Ice Bow- Made by Uncaring Kitty Stockings- Some tiny sock shop at the bottom of Melbourne Central Shoes- Bodyline |
So irritating, all of the photos in this post that actually show the outfit well are bad photos of me and all of the photos of me that don’t suck are no good for the outfit >_< Clearly I’m just having one of those months!
Dress- Paige Flynn Jeans- Cotton On Jacket- Dotti (many many years ago) Shoes- Payless or Spendless, can’t remember Bag- Angelic Pretty Bow- Present from Louise
This was my outfit for a yummy double date dinner with Celina from Fables in Fashion and her boyfriend. We had an awesome time!
Earlier that day I had lunch with the MBBE girls and I was much more casual.
Dress- Valley Girl (modified by me) Jeans- Cotton On Bag- Angelic Pretty Shoes- Target with shoe clips made by me
The weather has been nice and chilly lately so I’ve been rugging up a bit more to go out. It’s been overcast for weeks but it never seems to rain… of course when Celeste came back to Melbourne for a visit it was the first day it actually did rain!! Typical >_< And being clever I of course didn’t take outfit photos that day until after we walked home in the rain which is why I’m looking particularly soggy and bedraggled here XD
Socks- Black over the knee stocking socks from tiny shop at the bottom of Melbourne Central Dress- Paige Flynn Bag- AP Shoes- Bodyline
This is one of the comfiest pieces of clothing I own, it’s like wearing big wooly pajamas 😀
This outfit was for another MBBE lunch earlier this week. I only got photos on my phone but oh well!
Jacket- Forever New (modified by me) Bow- Junk store Scarf- Forever New Socks- Sock shop in Melbourne Central Shoes- Bodyline
I’ve been searching for a nice trench coat for so long so I was ecstatic when I found this one! Especially because it was 30% off XD I’ve started modifying it a bit and I’ve got bigger plans as well so I’ll post once it’s finished!
Under the jacket: Cardigan- Ice Cream Dress: Paige Flynn Floral Dress: Forever New (there was a big sale hahaha!)
Lastly this how I’ve been wearing my make up recently. I’ve had a bit of an obsession with Illamasqua’s Dab cream pigment so I’ve been trying to find los of different ways to use it.
This is currently be favorite ^_^
This week I’m hoping to do some more video tutorials so let me know if there’s any think specific you would like to see here!
Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

I’ve been dressing a lot more casually the last few weeks. Mostly because I’ve been busy with work so I haven’t had a lot of time to get ready in the mornings.
A lot of these outfits use similar items in different ways so here’s how I co-ordinated one $7 shirt/dress thing in a couple of different ways!
My deco-cap has been a good friend on days I don’t have time to do my hair.Dress: Valley Girl Cap: Tourist store, customised by me Shirt: SES Jeans: Ally Shoes: Bodyline |
For meeting up with the lovely Jessicat I wanted something a little more formal so I went with leopard print accents in my hair and shoes 😀 I love these shoes but they are so intensely painful!
Dress: Valley Girl Shirt: SES Stockings: Myer Scarf: Discount tourist store Shoes: Payless which I customised by adding removable leopard print cuffs Underskirt: Valley Girl
And for super casual lazy days where I’m only leaving the house to check the mail and get tea…
Cardigan: Ice Shoes: Target, drawn on by me Sunglasses: Thrift store Bag: Angelic Pretty Scarf: random tourist store
It’s been getting nice and cold and rainy here recently so I’ve been taking the opportunity to rug up!
Beanie: Made by me 😀 Scarf: Valley Girl Dress: Baby the Stars Shine Bright Stockings: Coles
Of course there are still times when it’s more fun to dress up ^_^ This was the outfit I wore to a Lunar New Year event.
Dress: Made by me Shoes: Target, modified by me Beret: David Jones (with a military pin in it) Cardigan: Ice
So there you go! I’m trying to work on my casual dressing skills a bit because there are just some days when after dragging myself out of bed I can’t be bothered XD What are your favorite casual items of clothing?

Just popping in quickly to wish you all an awesome weekend!
A gigantic boring project for work has finally finished so I’m off to celebrate this weekend by catching up with old friends and relaxing! I’ve been working so much on this project (wont bore with the details because it’s boring just thinking about it haha) but it’s a massive load off to reach this milestone 😀 being done with it also means that I’ll have more time to write better posts so yay that! But first for the rest of this weekend I plan to relax and do absolutely nothing!
Its going to be awesome! What have you all got planned?

Before I get into the post today there’s just a small announcement I need to make! Recently there has been a rash of blogging related fraud. Including several scam artists posing as certain bloggers I know to demand free products from companies. One of the companies scammed recently was The Sticker Monster who have been a sponsor of mine for quite sometime and who’s owner I consider a friend. Please see this video for more information. Apparently this scam artist said that they found The Sticker Monster through my blog which really upset me.
So everyone please be on notice and watch for this person! >:(
To avoid any possible problems please know that the ONLY email address I ever use now is VIOLET @ VIOLETLEBEAUX . COM I no longer use my old gmail account (though I still have control of it) or any other accounts. If you receive any emails from someone claiming to be me from any other address please let me know asap.
It makes me really disgusted that anyone would do anything as low as trading on someone else’s hard work building a blog just to get free things. Not ok.
Please stay safe everyone and be aware of who you’re talking to online, it never hurts to contact someone via Twitter or a blog comment to confirm things. This sort of thing is becoming more and more common so be careful!
Time for some more random outfits ^_^
