Afternoon!
Random outfit time ^_^
This one was for dinner with Kim, nice and casual but it was SO cold that night!Hat- Portmans discount bin that I sewed pearls to Scarf- Forever New Discount bin Shirt- SES Dress- Thrift Store Shoes- Present from Cat |
Melbourne is going through like a second Winter right now *_* It started to get warmer but then all of a sudden we were right back to Winter!
I was trying out a SAX smokey eye palette that night and James was figuring out all the settings on his new camera ^_^
I can’t remember what this outfit was for >_< Maybe shopping? Random walking/getting out of the house?
Dress- Target Cardigan- Ice discount bin
I’ve been wearing my hair in these two mini pouf things a bit lately because it’s so easy for lazy days! Too bad I didn’t notice my lens needed cleaning and resulted in blurry photos >_<
This outfit was for a press screening of Crazy Stupid Love, Steve Carell was there to introduce it which was pretty cool. I’ll post the photos next Snapshots!
Jacket- Ice many years ago Dress- One Day in Paradise Necklace- Little Waltz
I finally finished that damn scarf too!
So yay now I can finish writing the beginners knitting tutorial and get it online 😀 This took so long to make I just want to wear it all the time haha!
James’ Mum came down to visit and we went shopping. I’ve been eyeing off this dress for like 3 months trying to decide if it was ugly or so ugly it’s cute… it was on the discount rack for $10 this time so she bought it for me. I have decided it’s definitely cute ^_^
Much shorter than I usually wear but I think it’s going to be a really versatile piece as a dress or shirt. It came with a scarf that I used as a belt to give it more shape. SO comfy! They were having a big sale so I totally want to go back.
Dress: 7 Angels Shoes: 7 Angels
Yay for sale shopping, have you guys found any bargains lately?

Funnily enough this is the only actual outfit in this outfit post XD I don’t know how this happened but apparently I only took make up photos over the last few weeks, not outfit ones >_<
Dress: Discount store at Harbour Town Jumper: 7 Angels Shoes: 7 Angels Beanie: Made by meThat outfit was for a casual MBBE meet up, I was testing out an Estee Lauder palette so it was all browns and natural colour. The result is still quite nice though.I have been trying out coating my lower lashes with mascara and using lower liner too for the first time. For this look I just did the lashes on the outer half of my eyes. I quite like it but it’s not something I would do every day. |
This was a more colourful experiment that I tried out for the second time to meet up with my friend Alice for tea.
She said it reminded her of a fairy and I’m inclined to agree ^_^
I’m still refining this a bit and seeing whether it looks best with lower mascara or not but I think it’s a really nice look.
Tutorial on this has been requested so once I get it right I’ll make one ^_^
LAstly the whole lower mascara/eyeliner has lead me to some fun experiments
This looks is a lot more grungy and much darker than I’m used to wearing but James really liked it XD
He had a bunch of new lighting that he needed to test so I was the stand in model again >_<
These last two photos are crappy phone pictures taken from my mobile blog to show some more of the bottom lash experiments I’ve been doing. This one uses little corner bottom falsies that I think I really like.
And this one is just to show that I do actually have lower lashes, I didn’t even know they existed because they’re blonde!
So what do you all think, are you a fan of lower lashes or do you prefer to do your top ones only? Do you guys have tips for applying bottom mascara without stabbing yourself in the eye/making a big mess?

Remember a while ago the lovely Marie from One Day in Paradise sent me some dresses? I showed you the ways I co-ordinated the first one over here. I promised to show the other dress and the shoes she also gave me and here it is!
You’ve seen the first couple of co-ordinates before in other posts but my favorite one is at the bottom.
I first wore it at a Keihls event.
Dress details: Infanta Deer Jsk with pompom trim (just sold out before I put up the post so no link *_*)Worn with… Shirt: SES Stockings: Myer Shoes: Bodyline
I wore it again up in Brisbane, it’s made of a fairly heavy fabric so it doesn’t crease easily. Perfect to throw in a suitcase.
Again perfect suitcase material so I wore it the second day at the Langham 😀 The pearl/bow chain at the front unclips so I wore it as a bracelet too.
This next one is my favorite co-ordinate though, because the fabric is so nice and thick it’s perfect for winter here.
Stockings: Myer Shoes: 7 Angels (I think, it was one of those discount clothing stores along Swanston St) Gloves: Junk Store Neck thingy: Present from my Mother Shirt: SES
All of that fluffiness makes it so nice and warm!
The skirt is huge with ample room for a petticoat if you choose to wear one.
The front bow also detaches and so could be moved around or worn in your hair etc. The pearls used are glass too so they have a nice weight unlike the cheaper plastic pearls a lot of companies use.
My absolute favorite part of the dress is a fluffy adorable faun applique! SO CUTE!
The back of the dress has crossing lace up to make it completely adjustable. Unrelated but my hair is getting so looong!
Better view of the lacing:
And a better view of the lace and detailing:
Love this dress very much, it’s been a really good staple of my Winter wardrobe 😀 Thank you One Day in Paradise, I’m such a lucky girl!
Along with the dress Marie dropped off a pair of shoes for me, because we walk everywhere now I’m always looking for good walking shoes. I love my Bodyline shoes to death but I can’t wear them every single day XD
Please excuse the fur on my stockings, I had just taken off the boots from the shots above and the are shedding like crazy because I haven’t brushed them through yet >_< Of course the camera flash picks up a lot more detail than my eyes do!
So the shoes have cute little heart buckles on the sides, lace details ad bows on the front and backs. They are made of very thick material (thicker than my Bodyline ones) and don’t seem to scuff easily.
The heel is not very high at all and considering the front has a small platform too it makes them very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The soles are quite grippy too do they don’t do badly in the rain.
Very cute for many different outfits and styles!
Thank you again so much Marie! I always have so much fun doing these posts and dressing up 😀

My last pair of white stockings died this month so most of my outfits have been much darker to accomodate. Must remember to go looking for a place to buy more white and cream ones so I can go back to normal!
Dress: Made by me Cardigan: Present from my Mum (I think it’s from Myer?) Shoes: Present from the awesome Cat at The Khromazone Bow- Junk store
Nice and casual for lunch out. I love these shoes so much, they are one of the most comfortable pairs I own, so nice for walking in!
This next one was my “taking James’ computer to the repair shop” outfit XD I’m sure the repair people totally cared what I was wearing haha!
Bow: Present from Louise Jacket: Ice (many years ago) Dress: Paige Flynn Shoes: Spendless
I so love that jacket but argh it’s got so many stupid hook closures it’s such a pain to wear! Every time I get one done up I manage to undo several below it so I get frustrated and avoid it even though it’s one of my favorites >_<
This one was for dinner with Celina from Fables in Fashion and her partner.
Shirt: SES Cream Dress: Paige Flynn Tartan Dress: Can’t remember, some skanky store with obnoxious clubbing music that was way too loud. Feather headband: Diva
This pink and gold make up is part of my effort to branch out a bit and not be so scared of golds/browns/metallics XD I quite liked the result.
The hair here was a bit of an experiment too, not exactly how I planned it but I would probably give it another try.

After seeing my reaction to the Jesus Diamante dress she sent to me Marie (who is just about the nicest person ever), the owner of One Day in Paradise was lovely enough to send me 2 more dresses. Seriously, I was drooling when she dropped them off! I figured to show them off appropriately I would make a post with each dress co-ordinated in 3 different ways.
The first outfit I wore it in was to meet Julian Kynaston who is the founder of Illamasqua! Oh my gosh exciting 😀 I was so nervous but he gave an absolutely fantastically frank interview to us. Check out You’ve Got Nail and The Lip Print for footage of the day and I’ll be posting more of the photos next Snapshot post.
This outfit was the most fancy of the 3 I did with this dress.
This was the best shot I got of my outfit that day but clearly he and his suit was outshining me with it’s awesomeness!
I paired it with simple white stockings and shoes because I was running very late that day. My hair has curled and piled on top of my head/down the side for an effective style that took all of 5min not including the curling! Here is a better picture of the hair… |
Yay for hair that is pretty fool proof to do 😀
The second time I wore the dress I was in Brisbane staying with my Dad while James and I were working there last week. This time I paired it with black accessories for a less sweet look.
My Dad’s house is full of fancy old knick knacks so I couldn’t resist taking extra photos while we were there.
Both of the bows on this dress are detachable so I wore one on the bottom and one at the small of the back under the lacing area.
This cardigan is one of my favorite things in my wardrobe, the best part: it only cost $3 😀 😀 😀
I was pretty happy that on this trip I managed to make curling my hair the day beforehand last all the way until the day after we came back! Yay for forward planning 😀
One last photo then I’ll stop for this time XD
The third time I wore this dress I wanted something a little more classic and how it was originally intended to be worn. No fancy make up, just low shoes, cute socks and a simple looped plait hair style. Definitely NOT Lolita but I suppose more towards that area that I usually dress XD
Obviously the dress was meant for Lolita so there was ample room for one of my old less floofy petticoats to show just how much room there is in the skirt. I prefer the shape a lot more without a petticoat but that’s just my taste. This time I pinned the larger of the bows on the top front.
This is a bit of a better view of the back so you can sort of see the lace up area.
Nice, casual and very comfy 😀
Taadaa, 3 outfits with different feels with 1 dress ^_^

Outfit time ^_^
Shoes- City Beach maybe? Can’t remember but it was some beach-ish store like that Dress- Made by me. Beret- Portmans, modified by me Scarf- Forever New Cardigan- Gift from my MotherI love this dress, every time I post a photo of it someone asks about it XD So to avoid confusion and repeating myself here is the dress’ vital statistics:
- I made it as a back up for my 2009 Nuffnang Awards night dress
- It took around 3 hours to sew
- I made up the pattern and it is the one I base 90% of the dresses I sew for myself on
- The fabric was from Spotlight, possibly from the quilting section, I can’t remember
- I got such a tight/tailored/good fit by adjusting it on myself
- No I can’t make another one because I can’t find the fabric again
- Yes the pattern on the dress is the same as my blog’s background, I scanned and photoshopped it until it looked good, took a few hours.
I think that’s everything XD |
I don’t have much purple in my wardrobe but I really wanted to try and coordinate this top because it’s got such pretty buttons!
Cardigan- Ice Shirt- Forever New Skirt- Present from Celeste Gloves- Forever New Shoes- Bodyline
Shorter than I usually wear but still kind of cute ^_^
As the weather gets much chillier I’ve been busting out all my warm clothes again and loving it!
Don’t worry I didn’t dye my hair, though the panicked PM’s on Twitter were very funny!
Wig- Fashion Addict Shirt- Paige Flynn Skirt- Vintage present from Super Kawaii Mama Hat- Made by me Stockings- Myer, dyed accidentally pink by my washing machine. Jacket- Forever New, modified by me
I really need to finish modifying this jacket, I love it but the fit isn’t quite right yet and I want to add to it and make it a bit more personalised.
Again this has been full of casual clothes but as Winter sets in more I think I’ll have more motivation to get dressed up more!
