Konad Nail Art Photos

So much Konad nail art!

The OC Nail Art Konad competition is ooover! I had so much fun doing it though, I ended up making like 13 or so entries. These are my latest ones…

Tiger stripes and Kanji. I can’t get enough of the sparkly orange base! It’s got tiny specs of gold in there which catch the sun really well.

Strawberries and cream. Mmmm makes me so hungry. I had permanent french tips during this phase so I wanted to use them. I had also just gotten all those delicious fimo fruit stripes. I can’t remember if I already posted these but oh well here they are again! I did James’ Mum’s nails for Mother’s Day. It’s her first set of acrylics ever and she loved them! Unfortunately I still can’t find a fantastic glue. She does a lot of cleaning and she managed to snap most of them off within a week *_*This was be just being lazy. I spent so long trying to get french tips painted on nicely that I wanted to keep them as long as possible. I kept top coating over and over!

Hearts! I love hearts! We did a presentation at Neis all about websites and how they can be good for your business. I decided to get some subtle advertising in by painting Blue Crane Design on my nails XD Here is the ring I ordered from Pretty Paris too!

And the last one… purple chains!

When I saw this tiny little delicate chain unlike a normal girl who thinks “Wouldn’t that make a prety necklace?” I thought “I wonder how many top coats I would have to use to stick that to my nails?”. And that’s all she wrote for now. I’m much too busy watching these silly people going over budget on their ridiculous house on “Grand Designs” to blog πŸ˜› I want my own house, I hope Australia’s property market goes bust soon! Then again, from my time working at a bank I have learned that they aren’t exactly happy to give a mortgage to two 22yr olds even if they are incredibly responsible and could pay it easily. Sucks because our rent is as much as a mortgage would be anyway *_*

Hope you all enjoyed the nail art!

Nail Art! Gigantic amount of photos!

Get ready for it guys… there is going to be an overload of nail art in this!

As some of you might know I’m trying to win a competition for the most creative design using a Konad Stamping B kit. It’s over at OC Nailart, they are awesome if you ever need any Konad supplies check them out!

…well here are some of my entries, what do you guys think? I know, I know, I’ve gone pretty crazy! I want to win this so badly though!

Cutesy umbrellas, go away rain!

Used: Blue base coat, silver umbrella konad, white umbrella konad (to give depth), blue glitter polish as rain, blue nail pen for the lines.

Woo Konad! Give me prizes!

Used: Purple polish, white swoop tips, white flower stamp, pink ceramic flower.

Omg I love these, I’ve upped the contrast in the photo above so you can see the design. They are stamped with really light pink so it’s a barely there pattern. Stamp was repeated several times to create a pattern.

Sunflowers at Sunset. Orange polish with gold flecks, black konad, yellow glitter.

Love my B Kit!!

This is so much shinier in real life! Started with the turquoise base, white paisley konad and matching butterflies to make a pattern. Blue swirls to fill the gaps and green glitter.

/>Farily self explanitory… I like stars.

Green fairy garden. White base, green glitter over the top, green konad, pink tip and more glitter and jewels.

A pink garden. Pink base, gradiated silver glitter tips, white konad butterfly then a bunch of stickers.

This one is awesome, the base is actually tissue paper πŸ˜€ Then a red and white stamp over the top!

This was inspired by fireworks. Black base, light orange and white konad with transparent stars. LOTS of clear top coat!

Look they even match my eyelashes!

So there you have it! What do you think, is my nail art in with a chance?

Green Eye Make Up Today!

I love green eye make up, so pretty.

Some of you have been asking about my eye make up so here are a couple of quick shots to show you what I’ve been doing lately!

Good old green eyes. Green graduated to white with black eye liner and mascara. I LOVE liquid eyeliner.

Now this one should look better than this but it was taken with the old camera who’s flash is weird. It’s black faded to pink faded to white, there is black eyeliner (which came out white because of the flash) and diamantes.

I tell you what I would have worn those lashes everyday if I didn’t end up allergic to the glue πŸ™ The last time I wore them they gave me such horrible chemical burns that my eyes were puffy for weeks πŸ™ It looked like I was wearing red eye liner.

PATCH TEST PEOPLE! Also if you guys know of a good hypo-allergenic eyelash glue send me a link please!

On a completely different note a while ago I was asked to write for SEEK’s new volunteer finder website. I volunteered in a bunch of theaters when I was younger and it was fantastic. Anyway the website is up now so if you’re interested go have a look here: http://www.volunteer.com.au My story is under the Arts/Entertainment category.

And in equally important news I’ve been Konad-ing my butt off this weekend and having a blast! Thanks so Brooke for pointing me towards the Konad competition, I’ve done so many entries that I really hope I win. Wish me luck! I’ll post all the photos later this week πŸ˜€

What are your favorite green eye make up looks?

James and Violet's Holiday Adventure!

Our working holiday on the Sunshine Coast.

Welcome to my holiday extravaganza! Well as some of you know I was away for a week, this is pretty much what I did… Beware… there are a lot of photos and this is the cut down version!!

We have quite a few clients up on the Sunshine Coast so James surprised me with a working holiday! Much hilarity ensued. Also, don’t expect Hime/Lolita here it doesn’t really work so well on the beach!

So here we are at the half way truck stop thing, we were eating lunch when James pulled out his camera to take a photo of his burger and the one of me above. Then the two guys approached us and started chatting to James about what a great hobby it was. They were also photographers and complimented me on my hair saying that they loved the 60’s and we chatted for a while. It ended turning into a mini-photo shoot! Everyone in the truck stop was staring, it was hilarious!

Above is the first photo they took. They gave James lots of tips on photography!

This is the guys taking more photos haha, so hilarious! They were so nice!

This is the view from our hotel room! How pretty is it? James got HEAPS of really pretty scenic photos but I’m only going to post a few. If you want to see the rest I’m sure they’ll probably turn up on his blog here…

James got up very early every morning to run along the beach. What a nut job! It was much nicer rugged up in bed. I decided to spy on him through the balcony though!

We got our Kevin Rudd bonuses which was awesome timing! Look at all this shopping! How cute is that singlet?

New nail polish! I went a bit crazy with the colours this time XD I LOVE all of them, you can’t really see but the silver on the right is full of glitter, so much so that it’s almost like painting with sand. They are all really nice, and quite cheap.

I had the WORST experience with a nail salon up there though. I’m not going to write the story right now because I’m still mad but if you’re interested ask and I’ll tell. Let’s just say now I know why I do acrylics myself.

This is what they all look like, cute huh? Ignore the ugly natural nails.

My lovely man relaxing on the balcony.

New Deco supplies~~ I got all those fake flowers for $8! I’ve got some awesome things planned for them so just you wait for the upcoming tutorials.

I love sail boats, there is something just beautifully postcard about them.

We ventured down to the rock pools in front of the hotel a couple of times and it was beautiful. More on that later.

The beach at night etc A crazy old beach fossiker. He was down at the beach every morning at like 5am looking for lost change and other beach junk.

I FINALLY MANAGED TO CURL MY HAIR! Oh my god it took forever but LOOK I did it! I also bought some long curly hair extensions… woo! I haven’t taken photos of that yet but they rock for Hime Style.

Most of the stuff here was from our day Op shopping, the Sunshine Coast has the best Op shops in the universe! Seriously, not including the stripy swimsuit and James’ 2 shirts at the back everything cost around $30 total… EVERYTHING.

Wearing my new Op shop finds. Shirt- $4, Skirt- $4, Hair Scarf- $0.20, Being Thrifty- Priceless. Ok that was tacky but how awesome is that?! The shirt and skirt were both completely new with tags too πŸ˜€

Priceline (one of the best make up/beauty shops ever) was having a deal where if you spent $50 on certain brands you got a make up bag full of things worth $80. It was a freaking awesome deal! So this is a combination of what you bought and what was in the bag (which is super cute). The things in the bag were real full sized things too not just shitty samples!

We had breakfast at the cutest little cafe and there were bush turkey walking everywhere! It was so weird seeing turkey walking around in suburbia and fighting for scraps, wtf?

Our delicious breakfast. Seriously the yummiest breakfast I’ve ever had.

Here are some shots from down at the beach. I’m generally not the biggest fan of the beach because of all the icky sand and sea creatures which can sting you but we had so much fun! Here I am controlling the waves! BOW TO ME OCEAN!

Ah! It didn’t work! Run away!

Look at him oozing Calvin Klein model XD

And after a hard day’s work we can down to the pool to relax XD

And my wonderful man makes me a cup of tea.

Best semi-vacation ever.

Hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed being in them XD

Mwahaha Konad nail art and big news

Hurray more konad nail art, that’s what you’ve been waiting for!

Hello everyone! I have some big news this post… I’m Nuffnang’s featured blogger of the month πŸ˜€

Come and check it out here: http://www.nuffnang.com.au/featured-blogger/bg-2009-apr

I’m very excited about the whole thing, I really love Nuffnang and I’m having a blast meeting other bloggers with them!

Now for the real purpose of this post… I GOT MY KONAD! Really this post is in homage to Brooke and her blog “Getcha Nails Did”. She is the one who convinced me to actually get it and I’m so happy! If you don’t know what a Konad is click here: http://www.konadusa.com/

Konad nail art pics ahoy!

This was my first try so it kind of sucks… but I practiced a whole lot!

Now here is my second try, much better don’t you think? I LOVE this lace tip. This plate didn’t actually come with the set I got but the lady was nice enough to just swap it for me! How cool was that?

They are a little smudgy but I’m still proud I did this well on my second go XD

Ignore how gross my toes are and just look at the cute stamps πŸ˜€

I’m having such an awesome day today! I’m so sorry I didn’t get to reply to everyone’s comments yesterday I was sooo sick. James isn’t feeling very well this morning and I’m praying he doesn’t have what I did *_*

Konad!

I finally got my Konad!

I’ve been playing all weekend… expect photos soon.

Thanks for the recommendation Brooke, it’s AWESOME!
