The No-So-Pink Cliffs and Mount Macedon – Snapshots

Come with us on our trip to the No-So-Pink Cliffs and Mount Macedon! Mount Macedon is also known as the coldest place on earth… by me.

We decided on a whim one morning to take a drive to Bendigo so I could visit the yarn mills there. It was around a 2 hour drive but we ended up stopping at lots of places to take photos.

Our first stop was a random farmer’s market which was 1 part farmers (see below chickens) and 10 parts imported random crap toys, car parts and people giving crystal readings.

We were more looking for cheese than car parts so back in our car we hopped. There was a serious lack of cheese on this day trip.

Celina had heard about a place called the Pink Cliffs so we stopped off and wandered over. I say wandered but it was actually more like a 30min hike through rocks and bush >_> We city folk didn’t do so well.

Then there were the cliffs. They were very not pink. Like seriously, this is not pink. I even added a pink filter to the left half of this photo and they still look orange. Orange cliffs doesn’t sound as inviting though right?

Celina did her best impression of that scene from Titanic but no one else was brave enough to go to the edge because you know… cliffs >_>

Our next stop was actually in Bendigo. We were driving through when out of nowhere James spotted this amazing glass house in the middle of a park.

It was full of birds and beautiful flowers and people sheltering from the weird rainstorm that came out of nowhere.

The last stop for the day (thank god because by this point 2/4 of us had fallen asleep in the car) was Mount Macedon. We got lost probably 3 times trying to find the correct road and failed fairly miserably trying to get directions but we got there in the end!

Apparently we had just missed it snowing by like 5 minutes *_*

We are smiling in this photo but neither of us were dressed for snow so our eyes are really saying “OMFG GET TAKE THE PHOTO AND GET BACK TO THE HEATER IN THE CAR!”.

We were lucky to arrive just in time for sunset but I couldn’t even press the shutter button on my camera because I was so chilly!

Look James was there too!

There was a tea house there too but we were too cold and tired to try it. Plus it was like a 2 hr drive back into town and tiny bladder XD

I can’t believe how many places we actually went on this trip, considering it was just one day!

So pretty but it did inspire me to knit us some flip top mittens for next time XD

We want to go exploring more areas, do you guys have suggestions around Victoria we should check out? No pink landmarks please, they only disappoint ;_;

It Makes Me Happy – Snapshots

Happy! It’s the end of another week and I feel like a did a lot so yay!

I learned how to make my own rice paper rolls and pho at home. YUM. Ignore the colour, I mis-calibrated it on my camera so everything that day was weirdly orange.

James made me scrambled eggs and cottage cheese on toast, one of my favourites that we never have time for in the morning!

I shopping-spree’d

I ate a lot of white chocolate. It seems when I write down what makes me happy they are all food XD That’s probably not healthy?

I said goodbye to some of the first shoes I ever deco’d and finally admitted that while they were super pretty, they were also CRAZY UNCOMFORTABLE.

I don’t have time for uncomfortable shoes!

These are my new chocolate obsessions btw, I usually hate Lindt chocolate but these white chocolate/strawberry ones don’t leave that waxy after taste. SO GOOD!

I got stationary and got organised with notebooks!

I painted my nails the pinkest of the pinks.

I started using some of the cosmetics I was given for my birthday. LOVE this blush and nail file from Jill Stuart.

I even branched out to try a bright pink eyeliner!

I rearranged my terrarium a bit so the stones were in the right places.

And found some tiny accessories to use in there, I think we need to do tiny macro shoots with these!

When trying to model the pink eyeliner for you guys, I realised winking is something I can’t possibly look cute doing. Seriously this was like the 50th try and it was the only one that didn’t look like I had some kind of eye disease.

I guess James will never know the allure of my powerfully sexy winking XD

But hey, I’m pretty good at applying eyeliner!

You win some you lose some ;P

How’s your week been??

Poor James! Snapshots

This Snapshots has an abnormally large number of photos of me in it… Maybe this is James’ snapshots? I spend my week staring at the tops of buildings and he is forced to stare at my face haha!

There’s nothing better than lunch at EARL canteen with some Chatime on a sunny day =)

Sleepy puppy!

This does seem accurate!

Look what Cazz found at the market for me!

Cazz and I are so classy together!

I stole her glasses 😀

And at the end of the week, there’s another better than snuggling up with a few pillows and just relaxing!
I hope you’re having a good week!

Cherry Blossoms! Melbourne Snapshots

Every time I try to take a cute photo, this is happening zoomed out slightly:

The weather has been constantly up and down this week which isn’t really a change for Melbourne I guess. Everyone here jokes about having 4 seasons in 1 day but it’s really more like 4 seasons in the space of an hour *_*

A little further out from the city the cherry blossoms were magical.

I wish I could surround my apartment with them all year round but they would probably seem a little less magical if they lasted longer than a week or so!

The worst part of inconsistent weather is trying to dress for it!

I usually end up taking like 5 layers and never end up quite the correct temperature >_<

I keep taking photos of this rainbow building for some reason!

I’ve been trying to take it a little easier and relax more at home. I guess my definition of relaxation is really just lighting some candles in the background while I work hahaha!

Now that it’s a little warmer I want to bust out our blender and try my hand at making some fancy summer drinks. I’m going to stock up on fruit and try different combinations until I find the perfect one. Do you guys have a favourite fruit? Mine’s pomegranate but they are so expensive ;_:

This is my new tea strainer, it looks like a little acorn inside the pot plant!

And I’ll leave you with Celina being a total fashion model on the edge of a pier because someone has to do it!

James The Eating Champion – Snapshots

This is the face of a man who is about to ingest 1kg of burrito >_>

It seems like the Mexican food craze has been dying down a bit here lately and has been replaced by Vietnamese. James far prefers Mexican so when he read about Mad Mex doing a 1kg mega burrito challenge it was about 10 minutes before I was being dragged there.

The challenge in all it’s glory:

And the challenge takers… don’t include me in this because I got a regular one… which I actually finished for a change so maybe you should count me in? XD

If you managed to finish, you got your very own Luchador wrestling mask. Apparently to the victors, go the spoils!

They insisted on wearing them all the way home too so I looked like I was being abducted by crazy wrestlers.

This sure is the man that I love >_>

Melbourne has way too much food that I want to eat and things open and close so quickly that I can’t keep up. This was the first Cajun place that I had ever seen and I only got to eat their delicious fries twice before they too turned into a Vietnamese place… at least the pho there now is delicious!

We celebrated Kris graduating and moving out by introducing him to our all time favourite Korean place: Big Mama!

Why do I take so many photos of food, all it does is make me hungry again!!!

Maybe a new place will open up tomorrow to try 😀

Stand ‘N Stuff Tortillas WHY? Snapshots

I want to grow big trees like this in our apartment but even our window boxes are dead again.

I think that’s because the people above us keep dropping their filthy cigarette butts into our garden though 🙁

Sad plants are sad.

There was a pop up store in town by Old El Paso to promote their new range of tortillas and it was super cheap so we decided to try it out!

It was completely empty every time we went past *_* But the decorations were fun!

The concept however, was really silly. The tortillas are boat shaped which means you can’t actually eat them standing up because the second you take a bite it looses structural integrity and goes EVERYWHERE.

But you know, cute display!

This is also silly, it’s an art installation that gets bigger/smaller depending on how many people are in the shopping centre. All I can see is how dirty it is >_> It’s like a gigantic air filter cover full of dust from the ducts and no matter what time it is it never seems to get any bigger or smaller *_*

On the plus side, strawberry cheesecake drinks are AWESOME.

And I love all food which comes on stands bigger than me.

And Lottie is cute.

And apparently Little Golden Books are kitsch enough that hipster places use them as menu covers.

It’s warmer now so the streets are super busy. I’m not a big fan of crowds.

I find myself staring at the ceiling a lot waiting for people to move.

I think I’ll just stay home and be a hermit…
