Architecture time! Melbourne Snapshots!

Why do I let James be in the background of my photos? Or any of them for that matter…
It’s been ages since I’ve featured architecture time and I really miss it! So today please enjoy some photos of beautiful architecture around Melbourne.

I really want to make hundreds of these mini hot air balloons and hang them all around the house! Rose Cameo Nail Art Photo Tutorial

Let’s do some nail art! Today I wanted to do some nail art which was inspired by the fabric background that I’m using to shoot these on. Quilting fabric often has really great patterns and designs which work beautifully for nail art so next time you’re in the fabric shop make sure you stop and take a look!

You will need:

  • Pink polish
  • White acrylic paint or polish
  • Slightly darker pink acrylic paint or polish
  • Hot pink acrylic paint or polish
  • A thin brush
  • Clear top coat

Start by painting a base coat of light pink.

This design is placed randomly all over the nail so I’ll just show you the basic shapes for the first one. Paint a large circle in white.
Add little semi-circles all around it in white as well so it looks like lace.
You can begin repeating this shape all over the nails at random now.
Add tiny dots of light pink into each of the semi-circles and then one large pink splotch in the middle
Add a couple of slightly darker pink dots or “C” shapes to the middle of the splotch. This will give the rose in the middle some definition.
And now add some hot pink little leaves around the outside. I went with 6 randomly spaced.
Lastly, once everything is completely dry, top coat it with clear polish to smooth and seal it al in.
All done!
Repeating the design randomly and going off the edges of the nails make it look a lot more like an actual fabric pattern.
Cute! Let me know if you give it a try!

Random Craft Projects!

I think it’s time for another random project dump! These are things that I’ve done but not had time to film tutorials or did when the lighting was too bad for photos! I do a lot of things which aren’t always included on the blog so it’s nice to be able to show you guys some of them!

For my new video set up, I repainted this lamp.

It used to look like this:

I added a fur collar to my old jacket and then I ended up removing it and storing the jacket as I got a new one which doesn’t shrink every time I wash it XD
I really loved this dress but it was way too long so I took up the bottom.
To make it a bit more wearable with a cardigan I removed all of the beading too.
Easy!
I bought this top on sale for like $3 but it didn’t come with straps and was huge around the sides.
I took in the back and the front.
And added in some lace straps.
I painted our Ikea bench thing white.
And the sleeves of my favorite jumper had to come off because they had an un-patchable hole in the knitting ;_;
At least it still looks cute though!
I covered James’ photography stool in a really quick and slightly dodgy way because the underneath was all cracked.
When we moved everything around James gave me his old photography shelves. I covered them with some owl wrapping paper but the eyes creeped me out too much so I recovered them in white decoupage XD
Much cuter!
And that’s it for now! I’m sure there will be lots more random projects happening soon though as I have a little more spare time!
