It apparently comes in a couple of shades but I couldn’t tell which one my samples were so I’ll just give my general review >_<

Each sample has enough for 2-3 applications, not having the whole bottle I couldn’t give you an idea of value for money but going by the numbers it seems about average for what we pay in Aus.

The coverage was medium, nothing wow but still good enough to replace a tinted moisturiser.

I had a really hard time being excited about this one and that probably had to do with the smell, it is very strongly scented 🙁 It’s one of those smells that you either love or hate and it smacks you in the face pretty hard so this cream is something you should really test out in store before buying!

It didn’t pick up very well in the photos but this shade (whatever it was) was really orangeish on me. After I put it on I felt like the victim of a bad fake tan >_< Definitely for those with yellow undertones rather than pink.

VERDICT: Not for me. At all. May be good for those who have yellow tones and don’t mind the strong scent. Definitely one to try in store or get samples of before you buy ^_^ TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.

One Day in Paradise Lolita Store Competition Winner!

This morning I drew the winner of the One Day in Paradisecompetition and the lucky comment number waaaaaas:

Number 1! Hahaha in this case it really did turn out to be first in best dressed XD

Jessica from http://blogtitlehere.wordpress.com/ You have won yourself a $100 gift voucher!

Congratulations!!

Thank you so much to everyone who commented and entered the competition! I really appreciate all the support that you guys give and I’m so happy to be able to give something back 😀 I will be replying to everyone’s lovely comments this week and fingers crossed this will be just the start of the competitions open to international readers ^_^

Thank you for reading! <3

*Edit* As was luckily pointed out by Aimiya in the comments, there has been some confusion in the ordering of the comments. When I counted the entries and picked the winner, I went to the bottom of the post and counted the comments from there down, then paged backwards until reaching the end. I made the mistake of assuming they were in chronological order in the same way as my old theme. I was completely wrong and so while Jessica’s comment appeared as #1, it was not actually the first comment posted chronologically. That comment belonged to Mai from portraitofmai.blogspot.com. No one’s fault but mine, I should have been more vigilant in checking the dates of the comments and I completely apologise for that. To resolve the situation fairly I have decided to give both girls the voucher prize, one donated from One Day in Paradise and one out of my own pocket. That seems like the only right thing to do. Again sorry everyone for the confusion and thank you to all of you that entered and commented! */Edit*

Beautiful Handkerchief Embroidery

I have been a little obsessed with embroidery lately, it’s quite addictive actually and I find it really relaxing in bed while watching movies at the end of the day.

So I thought I’d show you what I’ve been up to ^_^

This was the piece that started it all again, I bought this handkerchief out of desperation on a day when I had run out of tissues XD So I thought it could use some jazzing up!

Embroidery

I pretty much used this to test out all of the stitches I already knew and get myself back into the swing of things.

Embroidery

I really enjoyed doing the roses, I want to try doing more like this until I get the stitch perfect!

Embroidery

Next I tried a more complicated shape but with a simpler stitch.

I really love how this one turned out!

Embroidery

It’s quite hard to tell but there are actually 2 shades of pink thread used to give it more depth. Next time I’ll use colours with a more pronounced difference so they stand out more.

Embroidery

Next it was cupcake time!

Embroidery

I also made another one in between here which had a large rose on it… but I think it must have fallen out of my bag somewhere because after turning the house upside down I can’t find it anywhere 🙁

Embroidery

This is the last out of the bunch I’ve done so far, after all of these handkerchiefs I think I’m ready to move on to something bigger and more spectacular.

Embroidery

James’ Christmas present this year was actually completely embroidered too but I’m still not finished it yet so that can be for another post haha!

Embroidery

Have you guys ever tried embroidery before? What do you think my next project should be? I’m thinking maybe a cardigan or something like that ^_^
