Short video tutorial on making zebra print nail art which was made for my blog. This version uses acrylic paint rather than polish so it’s much easier to work with.

Zebra print nail art tutorial.
What you need:
White polish, black acrylic paint, clear polish, think paint brush.
First thing is to clean and prep your nails. If you use a base coat, apply this now.
Lay down a base coat of white.
To get a clean finish I needed two coats of white.
Wait until everything is completely dry.
Pour out some acrylic paint.
Using a thin brush make a wavy “V” shape on one side of the nail.
Repeat on the other side.
Now following the V lines make more squiggles until the nail is full.
You could use black polish for this but acrylic paint is easier to work with.
Once it’s dry give the whole thing a cleat coat and that’s it.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.
Bye!

What better way to start a snapshots post than with some strawberry and pink whipped cream scones?
I’ve been seeing lots of pretty flowers around lately.
These ones are my favorites at the moment, not sure what they’re called but the colour is lovely.
I’ve notices a lot of really pretty buildings lately too. This one is part of a university and apparently it’s actually only a couple of years old, they just built it so it fit in with the surrounding ones!
Another view of it:
Lions in China Town…
Some apartments with awesome windows. I imagine that if you owned one it would be a requirement of the building to have an entire floor devoted to a library with big leather arm chairs!
I love the art deco buildings around town too, I can completely imagine Hercule Poirot living in them!
I forgot I had this picture of some pretty Christmas decorations.
I can’t remember why we took this photo but it’s one of the few when we’re actually both in frame!
Easy way had a promotion for a while where if you bought two drinks you got one of those little cake shaped towels. I ended up with so many of them XD
Pretty lights on a street called Hardware Lane which is full of delicious smelling restaurants.
Yet another creepy Santa. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get through all my creepy santa photos XD You have to walk through this one to get to the Christmas stuff in Myer and it kind of looks like he’s raising his skirt or something for you to walk through XD
Really pretty outside of a restaurant:
Desert from Le Petite Gataeu.
More pretty architecture! I can’t believe I have so many of these saved up *_*
These two buildings are next to the one above, it’s really interesting to see 3 completely different styles in the same street!
Even more lovely architecture…
Lastly to lighten the tone a little, I present my pink moustache:
Before I got a chance to decorate my cap James enjoyed it too much… Please enjoy the many faces of James!
My personal favorite is the last one… Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch James XD Love my early 90’s boyfriend! |
What have you all been up to?

Until a week or so ago I had ever even thought of heart shaped pompoms but I saw this at a craft shop and it started my brain working overtime!
Thing is that they wanted $25 for it *_* and after reading the instructions it basically looked like it just made regular pompoms that you then trimmed into a heart shape. Well I can do that at home for free!
My result…
There are various ways to make pompoms, when I was a kid we cut 2 cardboard circles and threaded the yarn through. Now that I’m older the novelty of cutting out cardboard circles has worn off so I take the lazy way:
What you need:
- Yarn
- Scissors/small sharp nail scissors
- Something hard which is roughly the diameter you want the finished pompom to be, I used an eyeshadow palette you could just use your fingers.
Start wrapping the yarn around the eyeshadow.
Keep wrapping until you have a decent amount like this:
Slide the yarn off…
Hold it like this…
Use another piece of yarn to tie around the middle tightly or if you want to take the easier way: a thin rubber band. If you want to hang it off something you can leave the piece of yarn long.
Cut all of the loops…
And it will look like this:
Repeat on the other side and you have a basic pompom!
Now it’s time to trim it into a heart! Use you scissors to cut the bottom into a basic point.
Like this…
Then cut a wedge out of the top to make a heart.
Now you’ve got the basic shape it’s time to trim with some small sharp scissors until it’s perfect.
Her you can see I’ve een working on the right side while the left is still long and messy:
And done!
You might want put down a sheet of paper or something to catch all the fluff that you’re cutting off XD
Very cute craft project and once you get in the swing of things they don’t take very long to make 😀
Now to think of where to hang them all! |
