Green Tea Crepe Recipe at Home

So my crepe obsession continues and I’ve even started to get James making them at home 😀

And this is how he does it! This mixture makes about 12, depending on the size of your pan.

  • 1 cup (150g) plain flour
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 240ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tbsp matcha powder (don’t add if you just want normal crepes)
  • pinch of salt
Mix all the dry ingredients together, then add the milk in a food processor if you have one, blend really well if you dont. Blending will add air bubbles so you want get as smooth a crepe. Let the mixture rest at room temp for 30 minutes.

Once you have the mixture ready it’s time for the fun part ^_^

We use a pan like this because it’s huge.

Coat it with butter.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-179_17036Mix up the batter so it’s nice and runny.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-181_17038

Pour some in to the pan and drizzle it around.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-183_17040VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-184_17041

Now move the pan around and cover the entire bottom of the pan in batter. If your batter is cold from being in the fridge it will be thicker and therefore take longer.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-185_17042

This is what you want!

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-186_17043

Now turn the heat on medium.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-188_17045

And pop the pan on top. After a while you should see areas turn dark green.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-191_17048

Eventually the entire thing will turn dark green and start to have tiny bubbles.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-193_17050

While this is happening you should make whatever fillings you want on another stove burner. I like strawberry sauce. This can be made by combining some corn starch/corn flour (it’s the same thing) with some sugar, then whisking in strawberry juice. James just buys tinned strawberries and uses the juice from the can. Pop that onto the stove and bring to a boil while stirring with a whisk. This can be done with any kind of juice and amounts will depend on how much juice you have and how thick/sweet you like your sauce! I think this was about 1 can of juice with 1/4th cup corn starch and 1/4th cup sugar.

Once the whole crepe is dark, use a spatula and flip the sucker.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-195_17052VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-197_17054

Cook the second side for a much shorter time as it should be thin enough that it just needs a tiny bit of heat. If you don’t add matcha powder it’s much easier to tell when to flip becuase the brown shows up much more.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-199_17056

Pop it on a plate!

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-200_17057

Add your fillings 😀 I like green tea crepes with some thick cream drizzled.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-203_17060

Then the strawberry sauce on top.

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-205_17062

Fold into quarters and you’ve got a delicious breakfast or dessert! YUM!

VioletLeBeaux-Green-Tea-Crepe-Recipe-208_17065

It takes around the same amount of time to make pancakes so I like to have these on the weekend, possibly in bed haha! The batter will keep for 2-3 days, or you can make all the crepes at once and freeze them for up to 3 months! If you do, just defrost for an hour at room temp.

3D Japanese Nail Art Pastel Leopard Print and Bows
Clara H Nail Art
Leopard Print Bling!
Today I got my nails filled and redone by Clara H.
First the old jewels and 3D parts were removed.
Poor Bergamot!
The polish was removed too.
Cuticles treated too and the old nails buffed down.
Next the bare nail was filled in with acrylic and shaped into place.
They were buffed to a nice smooth finish.
Of course this all came with a side of girly chat!
Top coating for protection next.
Then it was all about the design.
I picked pastel base.
The pastel colours were painted on as a base.
Cute colours!
Clara painted the leopard print with pastel acrylic paint.
To make the leopard print style she used light brown random splotches.
The darker brown to outline them.
Of course, that was just the start. Acrylic bows first.
To make the bows she used two large balls of acrylic.
Made dents in the middle and added a small bow for the middle tie.
After the bows were complete it was bling time!
The large pieces of bling were held on with clear acrylic.
After the big pieces, small damantes and pearls were added around them.
Lastly a top coat to protect it all.
I love that they are blingy but not too over the top.
Of course with nails this cute we wanted to share them!
So beautiful. Thank you Clara!
I hope you enjoyed watching these beautiful nails come together.
Clara is super talented so if you’re in Melbourne make sure to check her out at Tsumiki Design.
Soon clara is going to make nail tutorial videos on her channel so make sure you check it out and subscribe with the links in the description.
Thanks so much for watching!

Beautiful Pin Cushion Part 1 – Home Sweet Home

Sometimes it’s the small details that make all the difference in decorating and having clutter look less like clutter.

VioletLeBeaux-pin-cushion-50664_16095

Today for Home Sweet Home I’m tackling a mini project which is the start of the wider craft area re-vamp.

Home-Make-Over-Journal-5This was originally supposed to be my first project XDSo let’s start small!

Project 1.

Organise the pin cushion!

  • Pick matching colours
  • Remake pin cushion as it’s old
Theory: cluttered crap looks good if it’s made from similar colours!
Old version of the pin cushion was made a couple of years ago and it’s taken a hell of a beating. The new version will be a little pink hedgehog but that’s part two of the project!
Part 1 of the project is something you can do with your eyes closed… well probably not because, you know, pins are pointy… but you know what I mean!
My pin collection is a mish mash of several types. I don’t think I’ve ever bought pins, I tend to just inherit them when people are getting rid of their sewing collections. So it looks like this:

VioletLeBeaux-pin-cushion-40948_15403

Which is useful but also not very pretty because they don’t match. Also half of them are bent or broken and stuck somewhere inside the cushion >_<

VioletLeBeaux-pin-cushion-40951_15406

So step 1, pull all the pins out and throw out the broken ones. Sort everything into colours.

VioletLeBeaux-pin-cushion-40958_15413

Decide on a colour scheme, I picked shades of pink/white/red/purple and only put those colours back. So as not to be wasteful I donated the other pins to a friend’s sewing collection 😀

VioletLeBeaux-pin-cushion-50662_16093

Done!

VioletLeBeaux-pin-cushion-40964_15419

It’s amazing the difference just having similar colours makes. The cushion doesn’t quite match the pins but that’s on the project list too. I really think that little details like this make all the difference to the big picture!

VioletLeBeaux-pin-cushion-50665_16096

Next step, hedgehog 😀
