I love The Face Shop, it’s one of my favorite brands for skin care products. I’ve only ever ventured into their make up a couple of times but I was never particularly wowed. This time I bought a dark purple eyeshadow stick and a creamy white pencil.
The white pencil:
The colour is really shimmery and the texture is creamy, it applies so much easier than most of my other pencils which is awesome because I like using it on my waterline. This I would absolutely buy again and it’s become one of the most important pieces in my make up set.
The dark purple eye shadow stick:
I have the light purple/pink one of these already which I quite liked but I found that one was hard to get pigment out of. This one didn’t have that problem at all, it gives a nice dark shimmery purple. I like the consistency but it does have a tendency to crease. I like to use it with a brush as an eyeliner because the staying power is quite good like that. I probably wouldn’t buy this again because of the creasing.
Would I buy The Face Shop Pencils again: Yes on the pencil because it’s awesome but no on the shadow stick because it’s a bit too creasy for me. I will definitely have another look at the collection in general.

Now for the site updates 😀 I’ve been working pretty hard at making things better over the last few months and on the weekend I finally got to integrate most of it. I still have a couple of things to try out this week (including switching to a new system which will in theory will cut the load time in half) but the bulk of it is done so time for a run down of it all!
The aesthetic changes:
The left sidebar is now all slidy! This is something I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. Having less there will cut load time and it follows you around so you can keep all of the important stuff with you. They have also been made different sizes too which will be more useful later once I finish adding in all of my new widgets.
Navigation bar is now properly functional again and all of the pages actually go places.
All of the pages have had make overs. Most notably if you hover over the About link you will get a lot of FAQ options. A lot of the questions I get are answered in there so please do take a look!
New header, well not really new but nicer and brighter! It really opens the whole site up a lot more. I’m trying to put some of the ideas I’m using for my Home Sweet Home projects into practice online too so the whole design is much cleaner.
The backend changes:
These are still on going but rather than explain them all it just means a quicker site and less waiting around for loading.
You’ll probably start noticing some other little changes around the place gradually as I get to post them. My newer videos will have altered titles and endings, my Facebook page has a new header and there are a heap of other little things which are gradually being uploaded.
In another little piece of news the Bergamot shop should be open in the next 7 days so definitely look forward to that!!
Hope you all enjoy the new changes and had a good weekend!
I finally found a friend who would let me play around with her short hair! Everyone say thank you to Stef for letting me experiment on her 😀
Today Stef challenged me to try out a big hime pouf in her short hair. She has super shiny healthy hair so getting the volume needed was definitely a challenge!
We’ve got plenty of styles to try so if you have any requests let me know in the comments!

Short Hair Hime Pouf Hair Instructions
Hello!
Meet Stef, she has short hair and it totally awesome.
This time Stef challenged me to see if I could get a proper volumous pouf in her short hair.
Grab a 1 inch section at the front and put it to the side.
The basic technique is the same as the long haired version though I didn’t have a rat the right colour so I had to tease her hair.
Take a section behind it and tease/spray the bajeebus out of it.
We started with curled hair so that helped with volume too.
Lightly tease the first section you set aside and lay it over the pouf.
Just tease the back part of it, we want the front to be nice and smooth.
Spray it in place of course.
What would this be without hairspray?
The sides needed more volume so I teased small sections there too, brushed them back and pinned in place.
Honestly I find this a little easier with short hair because you don’t have to worry about the ends as much.
And as with the top I brushed some more hair over for a smooth finish.
And that’s it really, same technique as with long hair and just as cute with short!
Thanks very much to Stef for being my awesome model/victim for the day.
