There are some craft projects just seem to drag on forever *_* This time last year I found 2 balls of the prettiest rainbow yarn on sale at Spotlight for $2 a ball. At the time I didn’t even like rainbow stuff but this reminded me so much of a rainbow Paddle Pop that I had to take it home!
With the first ball I made myself a nice easy garter stich scarf. It was finished in 2 nights ready to wear as soon as we arrived here in Melbourne.
The second ball was put aside for a matching beanie that I was planning to knit on the drive down here. Best laid plans and all but I ended up being too concerned with trying to take photos and I only got this far XD Pretty much all the photos here were taken on my phone so sorry for the quality! After we got down here I was really pre-occupied through the rest of Winter so I gave up and it got moved to my “some day” pile. A couple of weeks ago I found it while cleaning out my stash and decided that since Winter was coming again it was time to finally finish it! I moved it over from my double pointed needles to circular ones and the race was on 😀 Because of the crazy amount of ribbing it took a really long time >_< That said the second I was past the ribbing I finished the whole top section in one night XD Folded and with a pompom added to the top it was finally finished! And it only took a year for me to get around to it XD I made a couple of heart pompoms for the top but in the end I think the big floppy one works better with the design. And now we have my new favorite winter accessory 😀 It’s massive and super soft, perfect for days when you can’t be bothered with hair and even more perfect to cover up a couple of weeks worth of re-growth 😛 I think I have an obsession with hats, I just keep wanting to make more and more! Is there some kind of hat lovers anonymous program I can join for this problem?? |
