Firstly! As a lot of you probably know Queensland was recently flooded quite badly. That’s where I used to live before I moved down here to Melbourne. Nuffnang put together a charity auction to raise money for the victims and my donation was 4 sets of my nails. Currently the bidding is up to $20 for the package so please do go have a look because it’s a good cause and a huge bargain right now!!

When I was a kid I pretty much lived in baseball caps and after looking through waaay too many gyaru photo dumps on Tumblr they started to grow on me again. Very practical for both Summer and covering dark roots 😉 After spying this one at a tourist store for $6 I set about making it much more “me”. Now it’s become know as my “I’m-busy-working-and-if-you-interrupt-me-right-now-and-I-lose-my-train-of-thought-I-will-beat-you-to-death-with-this-hat”… hatwork hat because I wear it when I’m writing important emails XD

Decorated Cap Tutorial

I wanted to make it match the shoes I decorated way back here so I pulled out all my supplies again ^_^

What you need:

  • A cap to use as a base
  • Copic markers (or permanent pens like a sharpie)
  • Diamantes etc for decorating
  • Epoxy glue.

I wanted to go for a pink leopard print again so I started by marking in light purple all of the spots:

Next I used a darker purple to roughly mark the areas around the spots.

I covered the entire back 2/3rds of the cap leaving the front plain.

Next I filled in the background with light pink.

At this point it should look something like this:

Next I gave everything a second coat with the markers to darken it up and make it look much more like the pinks already on the brim ^_^

Last it was time for a little deco to jazz up the front!

I stuck the pearls, jewels and plastic heart on using epoxy and added a couple more on the crown above the “princess” embroidery.

And that was it!

Not exactly my every day look but I still think it’s adorable and I would totally wear it on casual days!

The best part is that it’s completely custom so you can really do whatever design you like and have something completely unique ^_^ What do you guys think?
