Nuffnang’s Chocolate Tea at The Langham Hotel
A few weeks ago I was invited by Nuffnang to attend a chocolate High Tea for fashion and food bloggers at the Aria Bar and Lounge at the Langham Hotel. I’m not really a fashion or a food blogger but they couldn’t hold a High Tea without me so off James and I trundled across the river to be social!
The place was just spectacular! I felt slightly out of place in somewhere so fancy
I couldn’t believe how many other bloggers turned up! Everyone was so lovely and it was great to put faces to a lot of blogs that I read. I hope we can stay in touch
I didn’t think that it could get much better than that but then my partner in crime Grace from Living Footprints arrived in her regular hilarious manner and we had an absolute ball having non-high-tea-appropriate conversations!
And OMG THE FOOD!
I’m no food blogger so let me do my best here… there were delicious finger sandwiches, scones, endless tea/coffee/hot chocolate and you are going to drool over the best part…
UNLIMITED CHOCOLATY DELIGHTS!
The decor was impeccable and everything was themed in Alice style.
We got to meet the head pastry chef Markus Bohm and let me tell you, he is awesome at his job!
He even made us personal chocolate and passion fruit souffles!
I did my nails especially for the occasion with little macaron stickers that Leanne at The Fashionate Traveler sent me! I also did an effect to make them look as if they were dipped in chocolate…
James greatly enjoyed himself with his tiny sandwiches…
This is how he entertained himself:
It was almost too cute to eat but they were all too delicious not to!
I had such a lovely time meeting new bloggers who (as soon as we get the net switched on at home) I will definitely be catching up with again soon!
Grace and I are always a model of composure in these situations…
Yes always…
Seriously though check out that strawberry thing in front, it’s actually called “Strawberry chocolate Vacherin with Elderberry cream” and it is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.
It’s kind of cruel making me relive all these tastes over and over again to write this… I want to go back again Nuffnang!!
Grace, Sarah from 100Dates and I showing that we all process great restraint.
So much fun! Let’s do something like this again soon, these are meet ups I can get on board with!! I <3 you Nuffnang!
Have you girls ever done high tea? I can’t wait until we actually have real furniture in our house again so I can invite everyone to tea at my place!

james like sweet things right? lols…the food looks scrumptious! make james make more^^
He loooooves sweet things! I’m going to have to try to make my own chocolates!
I wish I went! Damnit.
>_< You and I should go again!
Hi Violet,
Great post. It was lovely to meet you in person! I didn’t get a chance to look at your nails on the day – they look SOOO cute!!
xox Sarah
It was lovely to meet you too Sarah even if it was only briefly! I do wish we’d gotten more of a chance to chat, definitely next time ^_^ Thank you!
We organised a high tea as part of a hens’ weekend and it was SO much fun… flowery dress code and all!
Flowery dress code is definitely mandatory with yummy tea
I love tea parties and this one looks amazing! I have had them before but these photos are making me want another one, I will have to have some this summer. I really enjoy thinking of a theme, decorating the table, dressing up and of course making and eating all the lovely cakes! If you ever visit the UK got to Patisserie Valerie in Soho, London. I think you would love it-it’s French, tiny, old fashioned and has amazing cakes covered in chocolate and cream and fruit. They even do gigantic chocolate cakes in the shape of roses.
Oh it was truly divine! I’m going to hold one at my house too as soon as I can get some more furniture
I would love to visit the UK again and have a proper high tea! *drooling* and the thought of chocolate cake in the shape of a rose!
Hey, I actually live about 2 blocks away from there
Hope you love the Southgate/Yarra river scenery. Always pass by there every day but never get bored of the scenery
Oh no way! We now live like 2 blocks across the river in the city! Its such a lovely area, the scenery at the river is beautiful!
Looks like you had a wonderful time Violet. The food looks beautiful and delicious! I love your Chocolate dipped nails! hehe James is so funny making that food face.
Oh it was just awesome! Heehee James is definitely the comedian of the bunch
Oh the food looks magnificent! As do your nails – glad you found a use for the lil macarons. And again, I adore the set you made me – will be doing a post soon
I also want to present you the Sweet Blog Award http://bit.ly/9QS9tH (but I know you don’t have much net access right now to pass it along).
Aww! Thank you so much! I looove the macarons seriously he nails were a huuuge hit too!

Could you post an article about how to have a ‘high tea’ at home or how to host one? I’m moving soon and would love to have a high tea as a housewarming party with my friends.
Absolutely
I will add it to my “to-do” list ^_^
Thanks so much!!!
Everything looks so yummy! Well I don’t have high tea but I do drink a lot of tea, I’m English I can’t help it hehe.
xx
Haha, my Dad is English too so tea is in my blood too
Ahh! It’s all too cute and yummy!
I just adore your nails, you’re so clever!
Diana xx
Aww thanks Diana! I was really happy with those nails
Haha, partner in crime! Pity we didn’t scandalously accidentally PACK some choccies home!
Oh you tempt me so!
Here in England, high tea is something completely different, it’s usually a substanstial meal eaten by farmers after they stop working for the day. I think the closest thing we have is “afternoon tea”, which is mainly things like cream cakes & cucuumber sandwiches, and of course, tea.
Anyway, it looks amazing & all the sweets look so delicious. Your nails are so cute too!
Ah yes I think what is held in most of the hotels here is an elaborated version of the English “Afternoon Tea” rather than the farmer version though a lot of people here use “tea time” as a phrase for dinner ^_^ Got to love cakes and sweets!
Oh man it looks so good. I was meant to go, but forgot about it till about 2pm, then was like “OH crap”. I really need a diary.
Every year for easter break, my mom and I go out to have what you call high tea. Here, we call it afternoon tea, but it has the same idea- cakes, treats, cucumber sandwiches, and assortments of teas. The event looked so beautiful and you looked just fabulous!
Aww thank you so much! I love the idea of going to high tea/afternoon tea often, that’s so lovely tat you can go with your Mum!

Oh chocolate……….I’m swooning just looking at all those yummy delights.
Ooooooh it was absolutely drool worthy!
We did high tea at the Langham. My boyfriend went in Loli. It was great. Been to a couple of high teas in Melbourne. High tea is just so fun.
Oh that sounds cute! The Langham’s high tea is just awesome, though I’m a sucker for any high tea!
