This Valentines day Nuffnang is giving it’s bloggers a chance to win a $250 gift voucher, so we thought what better way to spend Valentines Day but together attempting to win enough chocolate to keep us happily blogging away for a whole year. And so…
Once upon a time there were two lonely bloggers… they both loved pink and they both loved sparkles, they both loved anything fancy but they lived 1000 miles away from each other π
The distance seemed insurmountable. They would never meet on a train, they would never meet at a supermarket… would their sparkly paths ever cross?
And then along came a little blue man… a Nuffnang man! He left them a little trail of digital bread crumbs to lead them to each other…
The bloggers were ecstatic! They finally had someone else to share their pink sparkliness with!
They shared similar academic pursuits…
And a love of exercise…
And it was nice to have kindness and support in such a mediocre gray scale world….
Or not….
They explored the possibilities of alternative nutrition…
Though each was sweeter than the other… at times.
They dazzled the locals with style and grace…
And spread love and happiness where ever they went!
But they kept large sticks in their large handbags in case of disaster…
They went to bed early every night and made sure to get their beauty sleep…
But that didn’t always seem to go to plan…
So they practiced their elocution until they fell asleep!
All of this joy is thanks to one little blue man, thank you Nuffnang we LOVE you!
And while their world is now more beautiful, there is always room for another seat at the tea party!
We have more special Valentine love to spread to the insanely cute Cheesie of www.Cheeserland.com because if we can have this much fun when she’s not even in the room, imagine what we can do when she actually visits!
Next on our lovely list is local Melbourne princess Aurora Hime and her Tumblr that never fails to inspire!
Last but definitely not least is the devilishly dark and deliciously decked Miss Amelia Arsenic of Destroyx for more reasons than we could possibly list.
So if you want to improve your reality, don’t take the red pill, take the little blue man!
We HEART you Nuffnang!
Thanks Nuffnang!

A while ago I was sent a really interesting new product to test out for you guys: Rapid Lash eyelash serum.
I held off posting about it for so long because I wanted to be extra thorough while I was getting information about it because it’s a bit of a touchy subject for a lot of girls: EYELASHES
AΒ lot of my friends and girls I know are really self conscious about the size/shape/curve/density/whatever of their eyelashes and I have to admit I’ve gotten quite caught up in the whole thing in the past too. My eyelashes are naturally quite light so when I don’t wear mascara or false lashes it can be a little tough to see them and they don’t stand out against my eyes π There all kinds of solutions to this like fake lashes (my fav), lash extensions and dyeing kits and now there is something called “Rapid Lash Eyelash Renewal Serum” which claims to “transform each strand at the lash line from thin, brittle or short lashes into thicker, fuller and healthier-looking lashes by delivering essential proteins, vitamins and other moisturizing and rejuvenating ingredients that replenish the lashes, while adding shine and elasticity.”
That’s a bit of a mouthful and quite a big thing to claim! So I’ve done a road test for you all ^_^
This is the packaging it comes in:
Their literature has a lot of before/after photos. Apparently the serum can be used for eyebrows as well, I don’t think I need my brows any darker though so I just used it on the lashes.
It comes in a little shiny tube with a brush in it kind of like a liquid eyeliner. At AU$65 it’s a bit on the expensive side but it’s an alternative to actual eyelash extensions especially if it’s something you’re really self conscious about.
The liquid is clear and kind of gloopy… When you put it on it’s quite cold because of the metal container which feels quite nice. It takes a few minutes to dry but it wasn’t irritating at all to have on. It didn’t feel like I was wearing anything once it was dry and it didn’t bother me through the night. I did notice that my eyes had extra sleep in the morning but nothing uncomfortable.
What you are supposed to do is apply it to your lash line as if you were putting on eyeliner every night before bed. According to their website you should see a change after around 3-4 weeks. I used it for around 4 weeks before I took all these pictures and I did notice a change. Both James and my Mum noticed that my lashes looked a bit longer and fuller.
The website has lots of features and benefits of the lash serum including things like it’s paraben free, cruelty free and lots of other scientific things about how it works… but I think most of you will only care about how well it works! So here is a before and after shot of me after 4 weeks of using it every night:
(apologies for the blurriness I didn’t even check the photos before I started editing them for the post. Also haha you can totally see James’ reflection in my eye!)
This is my scientific way of looking at it. In my before shot the longest lash I could kind was approximately 76 pixels long after the longest one I could find was approximately 88px. I don’t think there was as big of a change as the before/after photos on their site but everyone gets different results. The numbers don’t lie so as far as I’m concerned it works!
I don’t think this is going to be a product for everyone but I do think that it’s a really cool idea and for girls like me with naturally light lashes especially if you don’t like extensions! If you’re interested in buying some you can get it from Priceline or online here.
Thumbs up!
Have any of you tried Rapid Lash or the similar systems before?
I’m having so much fun here in Melbourne with Candice! I can’t wait for the big tea party tomorrow!
Would you guys like me to post photos here of the trip at the end of every day or one big one when I get back?

One of the other projects I’ve done lately is my glasses! That’s right all the hours I spent in front of the screen writing tutorials means I need glasses >_<
But how damn cute did they turn out?
Lastly if you were following me on Twitter you would have heard that I lost my absolute favorite scarf ever on the weekend π I keep it tied to my hand bag and it fell off somewhere in a shopping centre, I didn’t even realize until we got home π
But the good part of that is that I got to go scarf shopping again π
What I bought:
Cute red scarf to match my bag- $3 from Footprints Op shop
Hand Painted silk scarf from the Salvos- $2
Yay for new things! I also got a very interesting wallet at the same shop but that’s reserved for another post ^_^ I love op shops!
Hope you enjoyed my deco spam, I promise I’ll reply to all of your lovely comments as soon as I get a second to relax and ‘ll update again once we’re in Melbourne <3

This is a super easy tutorial on how I modified some old sneakers for ultimate shoe cutifying. I find that I need shoes that I can just slip on to run to the petrol station for an ice cream or the corner store for supplies, for times when you just want to get going as fast as possible having complicated shoes really isn’t practical, no time for laces… but I still want to look cute!
Enter old beaten up leopard print sneakers.
Materials for shoe cutifying:
-Old crappy sneakers -Ribbon -Elastic -Sewing thread
First off clean your sneakers if they are dirty, no one wants to handle muddy shoes.
Then remove the laces.
Now you need some elastic which is roughly the same width as your laces were. Colours are optional, I decided to go with plain because I’m probably going to be trekking through mud in these and I didn’t want to waste anything too nice!
Pull the elastic through a bottom hole and tie a knot at the bottom which is big enough to prevent it from slipping through.
Bring the elastic over the top and down through the other bottom hole.
Continue to the next hole, it should look like this once you get to the top…
When you get to the last hole cut off the excess elastic and then tie another knot. Before you cut the elastic off you should try the shoe on to make sure it’s not going to be too loose or too tight. You should be able to slide your foot in with no problems.
Repeat with the other shoe!
Now get some thick ribbon and thread your needle. Fold it in half with the join at the back and pleat the middle into a bow…
Sew it in place:
Now use some thin ribbon to cover the stitching and sew that in place.
Attach them to the elastic with a few tight stitches and you’re done! When you’re attaching the bows it’s a good idea to do it while you’re wearing the shoes so you know they will end up in the right position when the elastic is stretched out. Be very careful not to hurt yourself with the needle though!
And there you go!
Quick comfy shoes that are good in a hurry.
Very little effort involved, I think this took me around 20 minutes while I was watching a movie. It’s amazing what adding a bow can do π
Only 2 days left until we go to Melbourne so I’m in crazy packing/planning mode π Hope you enjoyed the super quick shoe cutifying tutorial, I’m off to take some photos of the deco I did over the weekend for you guys! |

Oh wow it’s Friday already?! This week has just flown by! This is a drawing I did a little while back, nothing special just some practicing ^_^
I’m a little swamped with work today but this weekend I’m going to be shooting the photos for a whole bunch of new posts. And even more exciting news is that next Thursday James and I will be flying to Melbourne for a week! I’ll try to update while I’m away but I might just schedule a couple of posts just in case!
We’ve been thinking of moving to Melbourne for a while so we’re taking the chance to catch up with lots of old friends and check out the city a bit. If you’re in Melbourne and want to catch up drop me a line! Or if you have any suggestions to were we should go and check out or any “can’t miss” shops let me know!
I’m really looking forward to a week of hanging out with lovely people in Melbourne and taking a little bit of a break!
