Macaron Chocolate Dipped Nail Art Tutorial

Short tutorial on chocolate dipped nail art made for my blog. I have done this design for several occasions and it’s always a bit hit.

To answer the most asked question: yes the brown polish dries quickly but it does depend on the formula. It works the best if you use a quick dry formula. Also the polish used in this clip is a fairly transparent black/brown even though it is named “Black Out”.

Chocolate dipped macaron nail art tutorial.
What you need:
base colour polish (light purple), white polish, dark brown polish, pink polish, clear polish, thin nail art brush, orange stick.
First thing is to clean and prep your nails.
If you use a base coat, apply this now.
Lay down a base coat of colour.
I used two coats for an even finish.
Load up a regular brush with the dark brown.
Make sure you get lots on the brush so it’s a bit drippy.
Use the brush to deposit a drop of polish half way down the nail and with less pressure, slowly drag to the tip.
Repeat with a few mm gap between the drops.
Then add a smaller one between them to join.
Keep adding dribbles until the nail is covered.
You need to use a decent amount of polish or you won’t get the drippy effect.
Now let’s draw on a macaron.
Load up the thin brush with white.
And draw a thin line of dots for the filling.
Load your brush with pink.
Draw a line of pink the same width as the filling above it.
Add a dome for the top.
Repeat under the filling too.
Once the polish is tacky, use an orange stick to make pock marks along the lid areas of the maracon.
Clear coat the whole thing and you’re all done.
I hope you found the tutorial useful.

Houndstooth nail art tutorial.
What you need: base colour polish (white), black acrylic paint, clear polish, thin nail art brush.
First thing is to clean and prep your nails.
I you use a base coat, apply this now.
Lay down a base coat of colour.
I needed a couple of coats to make it opaque.
Load the thin brush with black paint and draw a small square in the centre of the nail.
Add two small triangles from the lower corner of the square.
Add two small lines coming from the diagonal corners.
This is the shape you want to end up with.
Continue by adding squares to above and below the first one.
And repeat the pattern.
Add to the pattern on the sides as well to completely cover the nail.
Wait until it’s dry then add a clear coat. Finished.
Even if it’s a little messy from further away it’s a really effective pattern.
I hope you found the tutorial useful.

Gradient nail art tutorial.
What you need:
light nail polish (Grey glitter), medium nail polish (pink glitter), dark polish (purple glitter), clear polish, orange stick or similar.
First thing is to clean and prep your nails. If you use a base coat, apply it now.
Lay down a base coat of the lightest colour.
I needed two coats to make it relatively opaque.
Wait until that is completely dry.
Using the medium polish coat the top half of the nail.
Use the flat end of the orange stick, squish the edge of the polish down and blend with the base coat.
The easiest way to do this is to tap repeatedly until it looks right.
If you don’t have an orange stick you could also use a cotton bud or your finger.
All blended.
Next use your dark polish to apply a line at the tip.
Again, blend with the orange stick until it looks nice.
Now it’s just a matter of adding more of each colour until the colour change looks natural.
Add some more of the middle colour and blend.
And more of the dark colour, blend etc.
This is what you want to end up with.
Once it’s all dry, add a clear top coat.
Clean up anything around the nail and you’re all finished.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.

Zebra print nail art tutorial.
What you need:
White polish, black acrylic paint, clear polish, think paint brush.
First thing is to clean and prep your nails. If you use a base coat, apply this now.
Lay down a base coat of white.
To get a clean finish I needed two coats of white.
Wait until everything is completely dry.
Pour out some acrylic paint.
Using a thin brush make a wavy “V” shape on one side of the nail.
Repeat on the other side.
Now following the V lines make more squiggles until the nail is full.
You could use black polish for this but acrylic paint is easier to work with.
Once it’s dry give the whole thing a cleat coat and that’s it.

Valentine’s nail art tutorial.
What you need:
Base nail polish (pink), White nail polish, light pink polish, gold glitter polish, dark pink polish, clear polish, thin long nail art bright, heart confetti.
First thing is to clean and prep your nails.
If you use a base coat apply this now.
Lay down a base of a medium pink. I used 2 coats for an even finish.
I will be making 3 different designs today, here’s the first.
This is the kind of long thin nail art brush I will be using.
Load your brush with white polish.
Starting 2mm from the right at the bottom of the nail, make a large curve to the top.
Fill in to the edge of the nail with white.
Clean up any mistakes and make sure the curve is smooth.
This is what you want to end up with.
Load your brush with gold glitter polish.
I wanted t include a J for James so I drew one with the gold.
Now using the dark pink, add a swirl following the left edge of the nail.
using a lot of polish, add a confetti heart.
Design #1 done.
Starting with a big blob, drag it down into a point.
Repeat it and you just made a heart.
Now with dark pink polish add a curved stripe along one side and following the tip.
Using the gold, add an outline to the heart.
The one more stripe edging the dark pink.
Add a piece of the heart confetti to finish.
I pushed it down hard to give the polish around a 3D effect.
On the last nail use the light pink polish to create a curved line in the bottom corner.
Add a white stripe above it.
Then a dark pink stripe at the top.
Add some stripes of gold glitter too.
Add a heart to the corner and you’re finished.
Repeat on all your other nails and give them a top coat!
All finished and pretty.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching.
