Simple Everyday Style – Morning Make Up

A new segment I’m trying out where in I show my morning make up routine for various days and chat about what I’m doing that day. Not really a tutorial, more of a random girly chat while we get ready together in the bathroom 😉

Today’s style features my simple every day style. It’s no fuss and goes well when I want that extra 10 minutes sleep in 😀 .

Morning Make Up Instructions

Welcome to another edition of Morning Make Up where I do my make up and we chat.
Today’s look is simple for everyday.
I’m up early today because both James’ and my parents are visiting.
Foundation first as usual though.
A little highlighter under the brow and a wash of champagne shimmer over the whole lid.
I’m totally not a morning person!
Then a dot of white in the middle of the eye.
It takes me a good couple of hours to get my brain away even with tea.
A tiny bit of pale pink on the outer corner next to give some definition.
I tend to go to bed very late though so it kind of makes up for sleeping in… so I keep telling myself anyway!
I’m pretty sure that if I keep telling myself that enough it’s true right?
Blending it all together!
Today we’re taking James and my parents around Melbourne.
Mascara next!
James’ Dad is a huge Collingwood supporter so they are going to go catch a game too.
I don’t have a football team which is very un-Melbourne of me.
Some thin liquid liner with a wing.
While they’re out I think the rest of us will find somewhere nice to eat!
Today I was awake enough to put on some lashes but if I’m too sleepy I won’t bother.
I’m really bad at being a tour guide though, I never know where to take visitors.
We usually just take people to the same places over and over again.
It’s kind of boring, you know… so here’s our McDonalds…
A little blush to make me look more awake!
I think we’ll probably just end up at the claw machines.
Add some lippy and I’m all done!
We’ve lived here for 2 years and I still don’t know where anything is it’s kind of sad.
And we’re all done.
It’s pretty but it’s still quite subtle.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching!

Side Ponytail With A Twist Hairstyle Instructions
Good morning!
Today’s hairstyle tutorial is a side ponytail with a twist… literally.
Brush you hair over to one side.
Grab a small piece from the other side and twist it upwards.
Keep twisting backwards and as you go, grab small pieces of hair from the bottom and include them in the twist.
From the back it should look like this.
Continue twisting all the way to the other side until you reach your ear then pin it in place.
You want the twist around half way up your head.
If the twist doesn’t hold, you can add a couple of extra pins along the way.
Tie all of the hair into a ponytail.
Tie it around 5cm lower than you want the finished product then push it upwards.
This will make it puffy above the band and it will look more interesting.
Add a cute flower an you’re done.
It’s a little bit more interesting than a regular side ponytail but still nice and classic.
Hope this was a useful video.

Thank you for a wonderful year!

Just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful year and show you how I made our Christmas cards this year! I guess it’s really more of a thank you than a tutorial because it goes so fast but you can pretty much get the idea!

To make your own here are the steps!

You need:

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Photo
  • Glue
  • Pen
  • Ruler

To make the cards:

Fold a piece of paper in half and cut it so that there is even space around the photo. You can trace around the photo so you know where it goes.

Draw an X between the corners.

Cut out the middle section leaving enough of it to be able to fold back and create a frame.

Fold the flaps back to create a frame and glue down.

Get another piece of paper and fold it in half.

Cut it down to the same size.

Sandwich the photo in and glue it all together.

Write a nice message inside and decorate it.

Done!

4 Fun Fringe Hairstyle Instructions.

Hello!
Today’s video is all about different ways to style your fringe.
At the moment, I have a straight block fringe with layers framing my face to just below my chin.
For fringe styling I used my brush, teasing comb, hair spray and a straightener.
I also spray with heat protector before I style to prevent as much damage as possible
The first style I’m trying is a puffy curled almost retro roll.
So I split the hair into 3 sections.
Grab the middle section and hold it straight outwards.
Run the straightener down it and at the end curl it sharply underneath.
It make take a few goes to make it even.
Let it cool in the shape and then run a comb through it.
You can see how severe the curl is at the end.
Fan the middle section out until it reached both the other sides.
Angle the straightener at 45 degrees and then curl the side sections in the same way.
Make sure that you curl them inwards towards your face, they should match up with the angle of the middle part.
And that’s one look done!
The more severely you curl the middle under, the more it will stick out and look like it’s a 1950’s school girl style.
The next look is my every day look.
It uses the same technique on the middle section to begin with and then I straighten the sides instead of curling them.
To keep it in place all day in Melbourne’s wind I use hairspray.
Then I lightly tease the underside of the middle, I do the teasing in a couple of sections to make sure I get it all and there’s no weird gaps.
It looks pretty silly at this point.
Then I smooth the top back down with the comb and hairspray it again.
When I’m combing, I’m just lightly pulling it down, not going through the whole way so the teasing isn’t ruined.
Not even Melbourne’s wind can move this now!
Taadaa!
If the wind does destroy my fringe, I just do a side part like this.
The curl under the bottom makes a really cute side swept look.
And it’s much more wind friendly.
Lastly, for something completely different, here are some Farrah flicks!
Do a side part and then angle the straightener at 45 degrees.
This time curl away from your face.
It’s much easier to do the side with the most hair in small sections like this.
And you want a gentle flick away from the face.
The more you rotate the straightener, the bigger the flicks will be.
It looks a bit weird with the ponytail but imagine it with a full head of curls and flicks, it would be epic 1970’s style!
So there you have it, a couple of different ways to style your fringe!
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog post linked in the description for more information and tutorials!
Thanks so much for watching!
Bye!
