Spring Sidebun Braid – Hairstyle Instructions
Today I’ll be showing you how I do a fun braided style perfect for Spring.
Basic braiding knowledge is required for this one.
Start by brushing your hair over to one side.
Pull the top half into a section on the side and side it off for the moment.
Begin braiding towards the back from just above one ear.
Continue braiding taking small sections of hair from above and below the braid as you go.
Use only the loose hair and be careful not to get tangled in the top half.
Once you get to the back, it can get a bit tangly if you have very long hair.
If you need to, take a break every few goes and brush out the ends.
I’ll link to some basic braiding videos in the description in case you need to learn.
Continue braiding right around to the other ear and make sure to stay very low on the head.
When you reach the ear, plait the rest of the way down to the end.
Tie the remaining hair up in a ponytail just above your ear.
Scrunch the ponytail up to get a bun and pin it in place.
You might find this easier if you curl the hair first.
Hairspray is also helpful
Lastly, wrap the plait around the bun and pin it in place.
Hairspray in place if needed.
All finished!
I really like this style for Spring and Summer.
I hope this was a useful video, please checkout the blog post linked in the description for more information and photo tutorials.

Volumous Updo – Short Hair Style Instructions
Hello!
Meet Stef, she has short hair and it totally awesome.
Today we’re trying out an updo with a bit of volume.
Start by picking up a section of hair at the top.
Tease the whole section and hair spray it.
Concentrate the teasing on the back part of it.
Done! Just kidding.
Shape the pouf down with your hands.
Stef has super nice smooth hair so I just needed my fingers and to lightly drag the comb for a very smooth finish.
You may need to comb through a little bit more.
Pin it at the back.
You may need to comb it a little bit more for a smooth finish.
Tease both sides as well and hairspray them too.
The pouf ends up quite a bit smaller once we’ve pushed it down because this isn’t really an extreme look.
Pull the first side backwards and pin it in the same place as you pinned the top.
Again, just brushing through with my fingers to make it smooth.
And the other side.
To make it more interesting or if you have shorter hair you can twist it as you go to keep all of the straggler bits together.
Tease the rest of the hair at the bottom, grab it and roll it upwards.
Again, pin it in the same place as the others.
Most of the volume here ends up at the back.
Use more hairspray if there are any stray pieces hanging down.
If you feel you need more volume and your hair is short enough, you can just tease the top areas more and lay them back down and respray.
Special thanks to Stef for being my awesome model/victim for the day.

Morning Make Up- Meeting Michelle Phan Instructions

Michelle and Violet- Hi!
Violet- Good morning!
Today’s morning make up has a little bit of a twist to it.
I got to meet Michelle Phan at a Lancome Blogger event.
Better do my make up first though!
-Intro-
Foundation always first of course
I tried out this mascara guard from Daiso because it seemed like fun!
I had mixed results with it, it worked on the top lashes well but not so much on the bottoms.
Sure it may look ridiculous but… well not that’s pretty much it.
Verdict? Meh, not bad.
I went with one of my classic looks today.
A wash of light purple over the lid first.
I was invited to the Lancome Blogger event as Michelle was here to talk about their new range.
Light pink glitter in the inner corners of the eyes.
I was quite excited as it’s not often other bloggers or Youtubers come to Australia!
Dark purple in a pointed “C” shape on the outer corners of the eyes.
We weren’t sure what was going to happen but it turned out to be an informal Q and A session.
White highlighter under the brow to give it a lift.
And a dot of white in the center of the lid to open the eyes up too.
Then blending it all together with a fluffy brush.
Michelle was really sweet and answered all of our questions.
A thick layer of eyeliner next, winging out the edges quite a bit.
As well as giving us information about how she started out on Youtube.
I also like to bring the liner down a little bit on the lower lash line too.
It was a really interesting afternoon!
Getting there!
White shimmer liner goes all over the lower waterline.
Be careful not to poke yourself!
Both Michelle and the PR ladies complimented my outfit which was very sweet of them!
I blended the liner out with a little cream shadow too.
James shot my video and of course he just enjoyed the macarons.
Blush time! I like to use a little light pink on the apples.
I was more interested in taking notes than macarons!
Now my favourite part… the lipstick!
I love these deep pink tones.
And applying an orange toned glitter gloss over it really makes the whole thing look awesome.
I hope other Youtubers will come and visit us here in Australia soon too!
Of course I filmed all of this and was about to leave before remembering that I had forgot something very important…
Eyelashes!
Clearly my brain wasn’t working properly this day.
But it’s an easy fix!
My favourite lashes are those that alternate between long points and shorter criss crosses.
Actually done this time!
Enough of this though, let’s see the event!
Michelle- You’re so cute, I just want to put you in my pocket!
So I want to thank Lancome, Myer and of course Michelle Phan for putting on such a lovely event.
It was really great to meet everyone, catch up with old friends and make some new friends too.
I hope we can all meet up again soon.
Hopefully Michelle enjoyed her time here in Australia and she can come back again soon for a catch up!
I really appreciated all of the effort everyone put into the event!
So hopefully everyone had as fun of a time as I did.
Thanks so much for everyone who took photos and videos with me too!
If you enjoyed the video make sure you check out the rest of my videos for more cute crafty things as well as some hair and make up.
Hope you guys had fun too and thanks so much for watching.

How To Make Perfect Ribbon Roses Instructions.

Today I’m going to show you how to make a simple ribbon rose.
This is a companion video for the photo tutorial that I already made.
You’ll need some ribbon, needle and thread.
Fold the end of the ribbon over at a 45 degree angle so it makes a triangle.
Leave a little trail at the bottom to form the stem of the rose.
Stitch it in place along the bottom.
Roll the tail end left until you reach the edge of the fold and stitch it in place at the bottom.
This forms the centre of the flower.
Fold the rest of the ribbon backwards so the tail points down again.
Continue rolling the centre of the flower towards the new folded part until you reach the end of the fold.
This folding and wrapping forms the petals.
Stitch it in place.
The rest of the flower is made up with the same technique.
Fold the ribbon backwards, roll it up and stitch in place.
It can take a little while to get the hang of because you need to hold the folds in place while stitching them.
Make sure the points of your petals are evenly spaced around the flower, you don’t want all of the petals pointing in the same direction.
The step by step photo tutorial that I made is linked in the description so make sure you take a look!
Continue folding and rolling the flower until you run out of ribbon or you feel it’s big enough.
I tend to do a couple of folds before I stitch because it’s much quicker that way.
Lastly, fold any left over ribbon so it points down the stem.
Stitch all the way down and tie it off.
That’s really it!
Once you understand the folding motion it’s very quick and easy to make these.
You can add a bobby pin or a hair clip or use many of them to decorate a dress.
I hope this was a useful video, please check out the blog pst linked in the description for more information and a photo tutorial.
Thanks so much for watching!

Braided Updo Hair Style Instructions
Today I’ll be showing how I do a really beautiful braided updo.
Much more interesting than a standard bun!
Basic braiding knowledge is required for this one.
Brush your hair straight forward and pin any fringe out of the way.
Take a small section at the very bottom and divide it into three to begin the braid.
Braid forward to the top of your head.
It’s a little hard to see so here’s a view from the top!
It can be a little tricky because you’re effectively braiding backwards.
I find it’s a lot easier to do different direction braids like this without looking in a mirror, if you look in the mirror you just end up confusing yourself as to which direction you need to go.
So just judge it by the feel.
This is what it should look like.
Being upside down for so long it can be uncomfortable!
When you reach the top, tie it and the rest of your hair into a ponytail.
There are any number of buns and styles you can do from here.
You could try just a regular one or use a donut or sausage.
I like to curl the ends though.
Then scrunch them to the head and pin in place so it’s quite a messy bun.
It looks like it took more effort than it did.
Very pretty and a very nice change to a plain old bun!
A bit tall for my backdrop though.
I hope this was a useful video.
Please check out the blog post lined in the description for more information and photo tutorials.
Thanks so much for watching!
Bye!
