Hello Besties!
I’ve been really sick so that’s why there haven’t been any videos but I’m better now so let’s rock this!
Today we are doing a pony tail with a poof!
You can start with fresh or curled hair,It doesn’t really matter but I’m starting with curled.
Grab a section of hair at the top and just pin it out of the way for the moment.
I’m sick of being sick! I’ve been off and on sick for the last couple of weeks and I can’t do voice-overs without a voice!
Brush the hair upwards into a high pony tail just like this.
You want it to sit just behind the pinned bit we created earlier.
The worst thing about being sick is cough medicine.
I could never be a spy because 15ml of cough medicine and I’ll sell out my country, family, goldfish, ANYTHING!!!
Now un-pin the front section and give it a brush forward.
You could always apply a LOT of hairspray and just chill out as a unicorn for a day!
But if that’s not your thing apply some hairspray to the roots at the back…
… and then using your teasing brush, tease in the root area.
Now GENTLY smooth the rest of the hair backwards to form your poof.
Fold it over and shape it a little bit with your fingers to get the shape you want.
And then pin it in place!
To pin it you can use bobby pins or several lizards, which ever you have available at the time.
How did the women on Gilligan’s’ Island always have such impeccable hair? Hard hitting questions right here.
So pin it just in front of where the pony tail starts.
Smooth down the sides of your pouf to meet your hair and hairspray it in place.
Grab a little bit of hair from your ponytail and wrap it the elastic and the ends of the pouf.
Add an adorable bow and there you’ve got it!

This is a very polished look that can be worn at work or at play and doesn’t take as much effort as you’d think!
As I mentioned at the start you can wear the pony tail curled or straight and I think it looks great either way!

Today I’ll show you how I style my curls once they are starting to fall flat. I use this style a lot while I’m traveling because I love curls but often don’t bother to bring curling implements for short trips. With styles like this and some other tips I can make the curls last a few days.

Today I’m going to show you what you can do with curls that are a couple days old and have lost their bounce!
Let’s get started!
Curls are awesome but after the first day they get kind of flat and floppy.
So rather than heat styling and risking damage, here’s what I usually do!
Leaving your fringe alone, brush all your hair upwards into a high pony tail.
Don’t brush through the curls, you want them to really messy and poufy.
But not SO messy that your curls try to eat your hair brush!
So now you can go one of two ways:
You can give it a twist like this and then pin the curls to your head…
Or you can cheat like me! This is way easier but looks a little different.
Just use an elastic hair band and pull it up into a really high pony tail.
Now just pull all the hair forward and fluff it out!
Fluff it out as much as you can so it’s super huge and messy.
Use some volumising powder if you want to go extreme!
Looks a little weird like this, but once you scrunch it up towards the band…
…and start pinning it in place….
You can form it into whatever shape you want, big or small, wide or tall!
And it just looks like a big curly bun that you actually put effort into!
Now just style your fringe so that it matches!
I like to curl my little side bits as well.
Minimal heat styling for the win! I always use a heat protector but even then a flat iron is around 180 celcius
Heat like that is always going to do some damage, so give your hair the occasional break!
And as Violet always says: hairspray the bajeebus out of it!
Once you’re sure all the pins are hidden, add some accessories!
A head band, huge bow or just something little, go with what you feel works best with your outfit.
There are lots of different ways to wear this one and it’s a good alternative to a plain old ordinary bun.
It’s very quick to do and with no damaging styling plus you get to wear your curls for an extra day!
This style is also really great for travelling.
I won’t tell anyone we started with old curls if you don’t 😉

Today we’re doing really easy victory rolls, this is a popular hairstyle in many subcultures but it’s most associated with rockabilly and psychobilly styles. I think it works really well with sweet fashions too 🙂

So let’s rock and roll baby!
Pin-up Victory Rolls Tutorial
Ok, let’s get cracking on these loops.
Today we are doing BIG hair, so I’m using a teasing comb for most of this.
Separate a small section of hair up to where your ear is on one side.
Comb through it a few times and then brush it upwards.
Tease the back of it and add some of your strongest hairspray!
This is the strongest one Tresemme makes, but I used to buy a magical one from Cedel that was discontinued.
Fan it out a little bit and gently twist it backwards.
The teasing will add some structural integrity and make sure there aren’t any gaps.
You want to form a big loop like this.
Now pin it in place. I have a video on hair pins coming up so subscribe if you want to catch that!
Now hairspray once again and do some shaping with your hand.
Fan out the back so you can’t see straight through the loop.
Now we are just going to repeat on the other side.
Same as before, brush through, tease and fan it out.
Hairspray.
Then gently guide it backwards into the loop.
Shape it with your hands.
Pin it in place. Once it’s pinned, shape it so that you can’t see through the loop.
Hairspray and you’re done!
Super cute and super simple!

This hair looks great for all kinds of rockabilly gigs, car shows or dancing around the house to Secrets’ “Shy Boy”.
Rockabilly hair is usually quite intricate so you may want to do something with the ends, but this is a great start!

The box from RY was shipped and arrived within 2 days which is so quick considering how long AusPost usually takes. They also have a pick up location in QLD which would be quite convenient. It came with some little samples and was packed securely with paper and a bag.

Inside the box is the very bright and pretty pink GHD and also a huuuge flat brush.
I’ve tried just about every straightener known to man and I really do have a soft spot for GHDs. It sounds silly but a straightener’s main function is to heat and a lot of the cheaper models just can’t get hot enough to work with my hair.
The 24mm is a really good size for creating curls too, it’s big enough that you don’t need to spend all morning doing them but it’s small enough to get tight curls and still be reasonable to travel with. I like the fact that these new models are really light too, compared to the older ones I’ve used this feels like holding nothing. When you have flimsy weak arms like me that’s a big plus haha!
So back to the idea of quick hairstyles that you can do on busy mornings… I’ve got 10 tutorials just for that purpose! A lot of them are very basic styles but sometimes basic is all you need when it’s a choice between 10 more minutes of sleep or hair styling!
This is totally a continuation of my Inspiration For The Lazy series. Each of these took only a few minutes to do with the GHD so now I know I have no excuse not to do something with my hair every morning.
Let’s get into it!
Style #1: Straight.
This is a pretty obvious style but so long as you can get some volume in your fringe I think it’s still really effective. I get more fringe volume by brushing it to the opposite side to usual.
Style #2: Sleek
Another variation of that straight style is pulling pulling the fringe back and teasing a little. I them like to leave some side bits down and use a headband to hold it in place. Very preppy!
Style #3: Fishtail
I love fishtail braids so much. They are so much cuter than regular plaits! I usually wear one over my shoulder but two is super cute too ^_^
Style #4: Mini Ponytail
This is one of my favorite lazy day styles because it has a lot of top volume but takes no more time than a regular ponytail!
Style #5: Side swept
I love side swept hair lately, and now that I’ve mastered pinning it at the back of my head so I don’t have to keep flipping it around the right side every 10 minutes it’s even more convenient.
Style #6: Side pony
So did I mention I liked hairstyles which are one sided? I don’t know why but this seems so much more interesting than a regular ponytail to me!
Style #7: Side bun
Yep it’s another side style but they just look so good! This one takes a little more effort because of the sheer number of plaits but the end result looks so complicated it’s worth it.
Style #8: The loop
This style has so many variations: do a loop on either side, do two loops. It’s such a retro style and looks even better in short hair!
Style #9: Double Twist
If you exaggerate the twists more you can get the nekomimi style too!
Style #10: Curls
This one does take a little longer but I justify this because I can use the curls in different hairstyles for like 3 days so it really saves time in the long run. Justified!
Bonus style 11: Updo
This is what I mean about using the curls for several days, the next day I just mess them up and make a big poufy updo!
So there you have it, 11 quick and easy styles using the GHD!
I think even though they take a little longer my favorite is still the curls ^_^
So overall verdict on the GHD: love it for quick lazy styling. Super fast to heat up, easy to use, light weight and the colour is very cute.

Today I’ll show you how I use my L’Oreal Rowenta Steam Pod to get super smooth straight hair. It’s totally awesome and doesn’t damage hair as much as a traditional straightener, I love it!

Look how lovely and straight my hair is!
Today I’ll show you how to straighten your hair using the L’Oreal & Rowenta Steam Pod!
Hooray!
I was lucky enough to win this Steam Pod as a door prize at the Garnier “Goodbye Damage” event.
I’m so glad that I did because this has become the love of my life.
This is my hair before I start. I washed it the night before, dried it and put some of the serum through.
This is the Steam Pod!
It’s like a normal straighter but it has a built in comb and these jets that shoot out steam.
The other half is the pod that goes on your bathroom counter.
It has suction cup feet that keep it in place.
The top comes off and you just fill it with water up to the max line.
It’s even comes with a water testing kit so you can see if you have hard or soft water.
Then pop it back onto the pod and you’re good to go!
Turn it on and wait about 90 seconds for it to heat up.
While you’re waiting, brush and section your hair into four sections just like you would for a normal straightener.
While you’re at it, pin back your fringe!
You can tell it’s ready when you close the straightener and steam starts to come out.
You’ve already applied heat protector, right?
Take a small section of hair, clamp the steam pod on top of it and move in the direction of the arrows.
The arrows are really important because it makes sure that the comb is going on the right side.
oooOOOoooo, soft!
Now just continue working section by section.
It can sound a bit scary because once you clamp it down the steam starts blasting out.
Even though it sounds scary it’s actually doing a lot less damage than a traditional straightener!
Before and after!
Frizzy, not frizzy. Silky smooth and shiny, not so silky or shiny.
Now repeat!
You don’t want to look like a before and after, right?
It’s actually really quick to do this, It takes me about 10 min max and that’s in my brain-no-workie just got up mode.
Don’t forget to do your fringe!
I do my fringe in two sections, bottom and top.
I’m not so much into the science-y side of things but you can read more about what it’s actually doing on their website.
I just care that it works!
Tadaa, all done!
Perfectly sleek and smooth and this will last pretty much up until I wash my hair again, about 3-4 days.
I can not tell you how much I love this steam pod.
I still use a traditional straightener for curling but this leaves my hair feeling great and healthy.

Today’s hairstyle is a big round beehive! After doing the pouf I decided on doing something a little more interesting with the back.

Hello Besties!!!
Today we’ll be doing a big sort of poufy beehive updo kind of thingy!
So let’s get started!
Straightened hair is easier to work with for styles like this.
Separate you hair into two sections.
We’ll be working with the top half for the moment, so just tie the other section away.
Brush the top half foreword and then take a smaller section from the top.
Hairspray and then tease the bajeebus out of it.
Then roll the teased section down into a rough tube.
Pin it to the top of your head and shape with your fingers.
You could also use a rat instead if you don’t like to tease your hair.
Now we are going to take the section in front, hairspray and tease the back of it but not the front.
This way the pouf stays all smooth while still being volumous.
Place it over the top of the teased bit and then pin at the back.
So far it should look like this. Everyone keeping up? GREAT!
Grab a smaller section on the side, hairspray, tease the back and then fold over to pin at the back as well.
Repeat on the other side.
We’re using smaller sections this time rather than two huge sections on either side.
This will give us a more intricate, almost braided look at the end, because you can see each section at the back.
Keep taking smaller sections from the sides until you run out of hair!
When you get to this point you can either braid or fishtail the ends together.
I fishtailed it and it looked pretty messy because I didn’t have a mirror handy while filming this.
Then again, I’ll be covering mine with a bow so this is probably a little redundant…
You can make yours as intricate or plain as you’d like!
Then roll the rest of the hair up into a flat bun or leave it down if you’d prefer.
Mine was too long to do a french twist at the back, so I just rolled it into a bun and lined it to my scalp.
And pin in place!
So this is what the back of mine looks like at this point.
Of course you need hair accessories!
I like to use big flowers at the front and big bows for the back!
Cute!
You can make the braiding more or less obvious depending on your preferences.
Either way, this is a fairly easy hairstyle that looks like it requires a lot more effort than it does!
