Thoughts:

I have to admit that nude lips scare me. Especially nude lips that are actually lighter than the skin colour, I think they can look really good on some girls but I have just always found that with my skin tone I end up looking like a corpse! So when this and a nude Cover Girl lipstick turned up in a gift box from Alisa I was really curious to see whether it would work for me.

The consistancy is that of a really high shine gloss and while it can be a little bit sticky (picture me in the wind getting my hair stuck to my mouth) the other points about it are good enough to make me want to keep wearing it. It stays on well and feels quite moisturising. In the tube it looks majorly orange but I was really surprised that when I actually put it on the pink tint in my lips shone through to make it a really nice colour that actually looked good and matched my skin. I think it’s the kind of colour that can adapt really well to different skin tones.

I actually felt really confident wearing this one (especially over the top of the Cover Girl one) out, it’s the kind of high gloss that you could pair with big dark sunglasses, a scarf over your hair and have a very casual day but still look like a damn movie star. I really enjoyed using this as a segue to try some more nude-ish colours, this was great for me because it’s got enough colour to not make me look dead.

Would I buy Wet ‘n Wild Glassy Gloss again: Yes and I would buy the other colours in the range too..

Tom Ford Violet Blonde Perfume Review… Currently Using

Tom Ford Violet Blonde Perfume

Price: $155 for 50ml

Obtained: Sent by PR

Thoughts:

I laughed so hard when I was sent the press release for this. Clearly it was maaade for me! Hello, it’s called Violet Blonde! Even better, when the PR offered to send me a review bottle… I actually liked the smell! The bottle is very vintage themed with ribbed glass and gold lid so it looks beautiful on my dressing table with my other cut glass beauty bowls etc.

The smell is actually quite vintage too actually, it reminds me of something my grandmother might wear back in her day. It’s very floral and has a powerful scent which lingers quite a bit, you don’t need much to go a long way. It took me a little while to work out the perfect amount for me as I’m quite sensitive to this kind of scent too much was a bit overpowering. It’s perfect for evening events, I’m pretty bad at describing scents and they are so personal so I would suggest trying it out in store before buying. As it is, I think it was totally made with me in mind: Violet Blonde with a floral scent!

Would I buy Tom Ford Violet Blonde again: Yes if I had the money.

Tresemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray Review… Currently Using

tresemme-heat-protector

Tresemme Heat Tamper Protective Spray

Price: $9.95

Obtained: Bought

Thoughts:

Heat protector is something I use every time I do pretty much anything with my hair, with how bleached my hair is, I don’t want to do any more damage than I already have if it can be avoided.

This smells fantasticly fruity and works very well, I haven’t noticed any heat damage since I started using this and considering how often I heat style my hair that’s pretty good! The bottle is big, it’s lasts me around a year and the price is reasonable for that I think. I can’t really say much other than that, it works well for me and I like it.

Would I buy Tresemme Heat Tamper Protective Spray again: Yes.

Earth & Body Henna Wax Hair Treatment Review… Currently Using

earth-body-henna-wax

Earth & Body Henna Wax Hair Treatment

Price: $5.95

Obtained: Bought

Thoughts:

I bought this on the recommendation of a couple of friends when I was looking for a way to smooth my frizzy hair and generally improve the texture and health of it. It’s cheap, it comes in a gigantic tub and it isn’t really scented, so right up my alley. The first time I used it I pretty much fell in love, my hair felt silky and smooth and I looked like I should be in a hair commercial flicking it around 😉

The idea is you wash your hair, towel dry, add it, wrap in a hot towel and then wash out 20min later. I thought it was working well when I first started using it but after moving onto my second tub I noticed it was leaving residue in my hair that made it feel more and more straw like the longer I used it. I ended up stopping using because of that and after a week my hair went back to normal. That said my friends still love it so I really think it depends on the type of hair you have. For my dyed and bleached hair it didn’t work as a long term solution.

Would I buy Earth & Body Henna Wax again: Not anymore because it left residue with my hair type. I understand it works well for others though.

Klorane Dry Shampoo Review… Currently Using

klorane-dry-shampoo-review

Klorane Dry Shampoo

Price: $16.95

Obtained: From MBBE product swap meet

Thoughts:

I am a dry shampoo addict because of this product. After the Cedel one I didn’t think I would continue using dry shampoo but this one changed my mind completely. It doesn’t feel powdery at all, it’s like a thin cold mist which feels insanely good on a hot day. After settling and brushing out my hair actually felt 90% clean. Not just a bit cleaner but really nice. The only problem I have is the price, this bottle lasted me around 2 months which I don’t think is cost effective for my particular budget. If it was around the $8-10 mark I would keep using it in a heartbeat. As is I will probably keep using it but rationing it for problem areas like my fringe ^_^

Would I buy Klorane Dry Shampoo again: Yes but not often because I can’t afford it

Perfect Potions Breathe Easy Ointment Review… Currently Using

perfect-potions-breathe-easy

Perfect Potions Aromaceuticals Breathe Easy Ointment

Price: Around $15

Obtained: Bought

Thoughts:

I’ve been using this to help with hayfever since I was around 14 and while it certainly doesn’t cure it, it sure helps a bit and makes me feel better. It smells intense and clears out my nose in about 10 minutes. It has a strong eucalyptus scent and I like to add a bit to my handkerchiefs if I know I’m going somewhere that there will be a lot of  hayfever-y things like parks etc. I also find that it’s gentle enough for me to put a tiny bit directly on my nose. Again it doesn’t cure hayfever but it allows me to breathe more easily so definitely something I keep in my bag for summer. I’ll continue purchasing.

Would I buy Breathe Easy Ointment again: Yes, absolutely.
