Architecture Time! – Melbourne Snapshots

Architecture time! Aren’t these trees beautiful? Everything is just starting to green up agin now.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve themed these posts.

I think when you live somewhere as pretty as Melbourne you kind of get a little blind to the beauty everywhere. You see it every day and half of the time you don’t even look.

So I’ve been trying to look at the little details.

Even down the gross alley ways.

And it’s definitely still beautiful.

You just have to stop and look up!

This is my favourite door:

And one of my favourite bits of street:

I like looking out of tall windows to see the tops of old buildings.

Sometimes there’s even a rainbow ^_^

Even the same standard boring buildings look beautiful again from a different angle!

So look up this week!

Changing Seasons- My Week In Snapshots

I’ve been completely addicted to white chocolate mocha frappuccinos lately. Especially with extra caramel sauce on top. I don’t usually like milky things but they are sooo good!

It’s been a lovely change of seasons.

The dead leaves are completely cleared away and there are tiny little buds coming through. It’s getting dark later in the evening which is my favourite part!

Seeing daisies everywhere makes me fee so energetic and inspired!

We hung out at Birrarung Marr Park to shoot some videos, it was fun seeing so many other people out with cameras! James wanted to do some lovely nature style shots …

But it’s really hard to stay serious when you are in the middle of a curtain of leaves and bugs XD

The ring I’m wearing below is one of my favourites, it’s from Cel’s Deco Store!

At home I’ve been organising my craft supplies which seems like a never-ending task. Every time I think I’m close, more junk just pops up.

I found these scarf hangers to organise my silk scarves at least! Storing silk scarves is something that’s bugged me for a long time because it’s hard to keep them all visible enough to use without making things really messy. I’m going to cover these in white ribbon so they are a little nicer.

Next to organise: jewellery!

And I will… as soon as nature stops being so distracting!

Food Yarn And Friends – Snapshots

It’s been one of those crazy fun weeks!

Anything that starts with mocktails and two entrees instead of a main is going to be fun!

Indeed this is the face that I make when I’m presented with that much food 😀

I was given this adorable terrarium. Two little doggies!

Of course given my track record of keeping things alive… the outside ones have already died a bit. Ugh >_>

Lucky for me, Lottie whines when she needs to be fed!

Chrissy and Charles came to visit!!

We bought matching scarves from H&M, I think Chrissy should be wearing my hat, it would match her outfit so much better in this photo!

I ate a lot of frozen yoghurt this month *_*

Tuttifrutti has new cups and for some reason mountains vomit rainbows onto other mountains’ heads? I don’t know.

And finally there’s finally a really good sushi train near our place, YUMYUMYUMYUM.

I have been eating too much from Emporium. Well I’ve been eating out in general way too much. In colder months I get so lazy and unmotivated to do anything.

Anything other than knitting that is!

I’m pretty sure that mountains of sugar like this are totally healthy.

I’ve never seen a kitty with these kinds of markings before. I wanted to give him a tummy rub!

James loves cooking in Winter which is good for me haha. He makes awesome fancy ragout!

How’s your week been?

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Emerging Designers And ShopHop Snapshots

I was lucky enough to be invited to some of the events for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week this year and it was so much fun! The first event was the Emporium Shop Hop and it was pretty much a big shopping night where each of the shops in Emporium had mini attractions inside.

The buildings were all lit up beautifully.

There were fashion shows in all of the tiny alleys between shops. Amazing fashion show in an alley that kind of smells like horse poop = so Melbourne.

Inside Emporium, Michael Kors dressed me up in their big jackets, I couldn’t quite bring myself to put the sunglasses on for some reason!

There were heaps of little stands dotted around the place with snacks too. Popcorn!

Michel Kors had the cutest little handbag shaped cookies and Mimco had chocolates and a claw machine game for their members to play.

Later in the week Celina snagged us tickets to the Emerging Designers Runway which is basically where the students from the fashion universities put on their final runway presentations.

I loved how many flowers there were everywhere, it really made this stubbornly long Winter feel more Springish!

At home while deciding on outfits we had this conversation…

Violet: Hmm, adding a scarf to my bag… too much?

Celina: Hmm probably a bit over the top…

Violet: You’re definitely right.

Celina: Am I wearing too much glitter?

Violet: Hmm maybe tone down a tiny bit.

Celina: Good call!

Of course when we arrived everyone was WAY more over the top and over dressed than we were!!

We were in the second row with awesome seats!

It was interesting, everyone there seemed to know each other already so it was like coming to a family reunion.

And the actual fashion! It was so creative and I wish I had been able to see some of the pieces up close because there were so many tiny details.

Each student had around 10 looks.

The model in the top right’s jacket is made out of security tags!

A lot of the collections seemed to use very squishy textures, the model below was even carrying a huge pillow.

I found it hard to photograph because I didn’t have a zoom lens with me but this was very impressive, the whole thing was made from perspex!

And the final show stopper outfit, her dress was massive and very detailed.

And the final walk through.

After the show finished we decided to have a look through the rest of the fashion areas still open that late at night.

There was a bar and a DJ with areas set up to get your hair and make up done.

Super fun!

It was a really awesome week! I found the whole thing very inspiring, it made me want to get my sewing machine out and make something amazing! It’s hard to be uninspired when you’re around so many people who are creative!

My Week In Snapshots ^_^

Snapshots! I’ve decided to take the whole weekend off to get through my sewing pile. It’s gotten a little ridiculous how many things are in there which I keep meaning to do stuff with but never getting around to it >_> So instead of sitting here, I’m going to go and actually do it now! Don’t worry, I will take photos for tutorials and possibly vlogs too while I’m going. In the mean time, enjoy snapshots!

These are some of my favourite things from this week.

Holy crap these Lindt balls are amazing, I don’t usually like their chocolate because it has that odd finish but these ones are SO GOOD!

I’ve been working on my macro photography a lot with the lovely flowers around this time of year ^_^

Ack, this dress is one of the ones I need to sew! The darts in the back are a little awkward around the butt so I’m going to finish them off a little ^_^

Hope you guys are having a good week!

Happy Birthday Miss Lottie

Miss Lottie is officially 2 years old now! Happy Birthday Miss Lottie!

She has been the absolute best thing in our lives for the last two years and she’s made us so happy. I think it’s really hard to be sad when you have a dog because they are always there waiting to greet you with excitement and love.

Happy Birthday Miss Lottie! I promise to make you lots of tuna biscuits 😀

Of course, even at 2 she is full of mischief and energy. For every one beautiful, touching photo like this:

There are like 50 of these:
