Luxury Facial

If you were to ask James what he did today he would giggle, say he gave me a luxury facial and then giggle again. No, no it’s not what you think, but my skin is just glowing!

I think one of the best rescues you can give to your skin are those little facial sachets, they are freaking awesome! My favorite brand is Montagne Jeunesse and today I got to try out Peach Kernel and Walnut Exfoliating Masque. See they spell mask all fancy and French so it must be good!

Anyway my skin feels so smooth and fantastic it’s great! I can’t stop touching my cheeks! Man I wish I had enough money to have one of these everyday!

Oh man I had a bad sleep! If anyone ever tells you to sleep 2 people on a single bed it’s best if you tell them to shove it.

My headache has a headache. DEATH. I don’t know how I’m going to concentrate for today, it’s the first Neis lecture. I have enough trouble concentrating for 5 minutes let alone 5 hours about boring things like tax!

We’ll see how it goes…

Top 5 good events of 2008

Top 5 of 2008… the good

1. Started own business/ being accepted for Neis/Registering our business name.

  • This is our first year with Blue Crane Design. It was one of the best moments of the year when we found out we were accepted for the Neis program. Even better was when we found out that we had gotten the name that we wanted! Hurray for blue crane design! Wish us luck guys!

2. Valentines day at Mooloolaba and our Anniversary

  • Oh man was this a freaking awesome couple of days. Just spending the time along with James in Mooloolaba was good to start with but we had so many adventures along the way! We ate at the best ice-cream store in the world, had dinner at the worst Life Savers club in the world and went on a 2 hour wild goose chase to find the most expensive café in the world with a nice view.

3. James quitting his job

  • Let me explain this one, James used to work at a service station (gas station for all the Americans here). He worked the night shift and it was very dangerous. Every time that I kissed him goodbye I spent all night worrying that he wouldn’t come back. The day that he finally quit was a weight floating away like a cloud.

4. Christmas dinner

  • For James Christmas is very family oriented while for me we have never really celebrated it much. Last year we did the family thing all day with no time for ourselves, he also worked the night before so we were tired all day. This year we did the family bits in the morning and spent Christmas dinner in bed having a chicken feast and watching “Love Actually”. It was awesome and romantic and a much needed relaxant.

5. Getting my groove back

  • I spent a good portion of 2008 in my pajamas, getting to love my clothing again made me really happy. Enough said.

Top 5 crap parts of 2008

Top 5 of 2008… the bad.

1. Worrying about Neis/screwing around with Centerlink

  • While it was awesome getting into Neis, there has been so much stress involved with this process! I’m so glad it’s over.

2. Having a seizure in the shower

  • I was on the floor of the shower for more than 2 hours until James found me and the feeling of helplessness is something I never want to repeat.

3. Not being able to wear nice clothes for a while

  • I love pretty things and pretty clothes. Not having a style, not having anything I love makes me sad.

4. Going to hospital and so many drs appointments

  • I hate doctors. I really really do. Nurses are awesome though.

5. Spending several hours trying to perfect curling my hair for a really important event to have it ruined by humidity.

  • Curling my hair or straightening it has never been a talent of mine. Who knows, maybe I’ll perfect it in 2009? Yes I know it’s lame but I couldn’t think of a last one.

Getting to Know Jimmy America!

My boyfriend James (also known as Jimmy America) features fairly heavily in my journal so I thought I’d introduce him a little bit. So without further ado…

Getting to know James aka Jimmy America!

James asked me to include in this bio that he is devilishly handsome and only drools occasionally. At least the former is true.

Also he says that he heard me bragging to my friends that his pleasure wand was unsurpassed. I’ll leave that to your imagination.

On a slightly more informative note, James is a wonderful man. We have been living together for more than a year and still loving every minute of it.

He is a graphic designer and he loves classic cars and 50’s-60’s nostalgia. He has a 1963 Valliant AP5 Regal who I compete with for attention along with his drums/guitar/double bass/bass. James is a fantastic musician.

He is a loving, genuine man and is polite to a fault. If the whole karma theory pans out I’ll be hoping to get by on his good deeds. He’s the link of person who will find a wallet full of money and spend his own to try and return it to his owner. He spends half of his life trying to get me to relax and de-stress. Even though James hates tea he still makes it for me. I don’t think I’ve met anyone nicer in my life.

Most importantly Mr. Jimmy America puts up with me!

Something Fishy With Copic Markers

I’ve been playing a lot more with Copic Markers the last few weeks. It’s been fun experimenting with s different medium and learning it’s eccentricities.

It sure has been a loooong day today. I wasn’t feeling well all morning so after having a bit of a mope on the couch Dad called and we drove to his place to pick up our new printer. Hurray for being able to print again! I’m looking forward to testing it out tomorrow with our new business cards.

Going through the whole setting up a new business process again is fun. We are currently getting the website written and all our logos etc set up, this is definitely the fun part before all the work starts! Tomorrow we’re going to get our new internet plan and I’ll be able to do a whole lot more from the couch than I used to!

Oh the picture above was done quite a while ago using Copic Markers. I sure do love Copic Markers.
