Vanity Box PeriPera Review

Dec 7, 2011 by

As promised yesterday another review from Vanity Box! This time it’s including my now all time favorite bb cream.

This is the group of products that Kean sent me. They’ve just added the brand Peripera to the site and I’d heard a little about it before but not enough to have an opinion.

  1. bb creams are always so intriguing. ive never tried one but maybe this brand is the one to start with

  2. Hello Alex

Great review! Violet can you do a skin care routine post? I think I have the same skin type as you and I’d really like to know if this BB Cream would work for me. I might have to get the next shade darker though :/ I love your blog :)

    • Glad you enjoyed it Alex! Sure I’m changing up my routine at the moment trying to find the perfect creams etc so once I decide I’ll put one together :D

  3. The packaging on all of those is so pretty! I also really like the coverage of the BB cream. I’ll have to try it when my current one runs out.

Do you know where I could buy the BB cream? The link here doesn’t work for me, and when I searched for it on amazon I found what people are calling a fake one that actually makes skin worse. Help? :( I’d love to try it!

    • Not sure sorry, I imagine if you just google the name you could find it. I’m not sure why the link isn’t working maybe just go the vanitybox.com.au and navigate to cosmetics>bb cream? Hope that works! I just searched it on Amazon and it’s not listed there so not sure which reviews you’re looking at? Hope that helps!

  5. I’ve been wanting to try the peripera nail polishes ever since I saw eki’s review on the four pastel colours! I also want to try dolly wink’s but those are the same price for even less product than peripera I think :/

I’m not too sure about their bb creams, I have filled my watch list at full capacity on ebay and was going to buy the baviphat magic girls bb cream and their watery bb cream and probably some skin food and etude house and tony moly’s secret bb cream but I stopped myself because I have recently bought a bottle of the tony moly cutie bb cream in tomboy chris and I need to finish that first before I buy other ones lol. But I have to say this bb cream really suits you well like a second skin. :) I don’t really use makeup that often (except for special occasions) but I bought this tony moly one because I thought it was pretty cheap, and I was putting myself at a risk because there were little to no reviews about the cutie bb creams. But I’m really happy about it, it matched my skin tone well (it adjusted in one minute from a slightly off coloured tone to match my skin tone which was good); didn’t look heavy at all and for now is my HG bb cream :). It was really natural and really gave me that natural makeup I was going for (after all I’m 16 and I don’t want to look like a drag queen with really obvious makeup on my face or a quite matte looking face either, I don’t really have blemishes so I don’t need coverage much, except for my dark circles). It suited me way better than the tony moly expert triple bb cream (my first ever bb cream which I won’t be using anymore), which I thought looked good on me first then I thought was a bit too matte for my liking and the shade wasn’t really my original skin tone.

Anyhow I heard that the skin79 bb creams are pretty good too! I’m bidding on ebay for the triple function bb cream, vip gold bb cream and prestige pink bb cream in 5g tubes just to try them out. I tried them at a shop in burwood (in Sydney) yesterday but the sales assistant was asking me if I needed help after the other person did to me less than five minutes before, which I said ‘I’m fine, thanks’ but this lady kept looking and standing there after I told her, when I was screwing back the cap of the skin 79 bb cream which took a while, and I felt her watching my hands during the whole process which I find annoying (it ticks me off when a SA lingers or follows me around everywhere especially after I tell them when I don’t need help!). So after I screwed the cap on, I walked out of the shop.. after all I was pretty much the only person in there except for another lady browsing the sale items at the store’s entrance which was further away from the SA’s and me, and the SA’s didn’t even approach her yet the whole time. For goodness sakes, I was just trying samples, not trying to steal a whole box of skin79 bb creams which were next to them >_< I hate it when people watch me closely like a criminal and only pay attention on me :/

there's a the face shop store in sydney that is official, and I went in there a few weeks back and they had pretty well priced bb creams. I'm not sure where you get yours from, but there were 3 bb creams priced under $40. One of them was like 30 or 40 or 50 ml for about $12 but I forgot the name. But my tony moly one (you can get tony moly products but not every product from their lines at morning glory stores here, not too sure about Melbourne. Some of mg's prices are cheaper than those on ebay) from a tumblr shop in Sydney for about $12 or so for the 30ml cutie bb creams which was quite reasonably priced for one :) and is cheaper than the tony moly expert bb creams which are $25+ for 30ml or so. But of course it's not about buying the cheapest bb creams out there, it's about whether the price accurately reflects the product and what it does and if it does what it does and suits you. :) But I'm glad to know you have found your best bb cream yet.

    • Wow thank you for such a lovely long comment Alise! I’m really glad you’ve found your HG bb cream, it’s such a nice feeling :D I’ve tried the Skin 79 cream but I wasn’t a big fan of it, definitely worth trying for yourself though. I haven’t heard of Tony Moly but I will have to have a look out for it now! Thanks so much for your recommendations <3

  6. Loli

I ordered the bb cream after reading this and I’m absolutely loving it! I never tried one before because they’re usually too dark for my pale skin, but this review convinced me to try it.
And I also sent them an email to say how much I liked it and they gave me a discount for next time! :-)

    • Woohoo! I’m really glad it worked out for you Loli and that’s so awesome that you got a discount for next time :D

  7. Caren

does the peripera I Love BB Light Cream have a pink or yellow undertone? :)

    • It’s hard to say as it works on my pink undertones but I’ve also seen it work just as well on my friend’s yellow undertones. From the tube it really has more of a grey tone, sorry I couldn’t give a definitive answer!

  8. Shiroko

Hello ^_^ Loved your review, very detailed but also concise! I was just wondering if you’d tried the Missha BB creams before? I’m debating between the PeriPera cream (in Light Beige) and the M Perfect Cover (in #13 Milky Beige).
I’ve heard fab things about the Missha line and can get their cream at a discount on ebay, which make these two products very close in price and quality. If you have tried the Missha brand, I was just wondering which of the two you would suggest.
    Thanks for reading! ^_^

    • Thanks Shiroka! I haven’t tried the Missha creams before though I’ve heard good things about it. I hope you found a good one!
