Food Friday- Chocolate Spoons

Sep 16, 2011 by

Fooooood Friday :D And it’s time to use the chocolate left over from last week’s decoration ^_^ To do so I’m going to make little presents for my friends… ok maybe I’m just going to eat it but we’ll see!

This idea was another one from a Japanese magazine a bajillion years ago. Cute little disposable spoons filled with chocolate fudge or chocolate something, I did mine with chocolate ganache. And I did it the laziest way possible which makes it even more awesome ;)

I saw plastic spoons lying in a drawer and decided to make some chocolate spoons this afternoon. I was lazier and didn’t even add cream, but I did add sprinkles so the cuteness was there. Thanks for the inspiration :)

  9. Oh I am loving me some lazy cooking/gift ideas. Not sure I would be safe to be around them once done though ;)

  10. What’s thickened cream? We don’t have that here in America, or if we do it’s called something else.

    • Hmm good question, google says it’s similar to American “heavy cream”, they have a similar fat counts etc but apparently our thickened cream sometimes has gelatin in it too. Honestly I think you could probably use any kind of cream and get the same result though!

  11. Cool idea as usual, and you always make me laugh, your personality rocks.

  12. I love the idea but not the disposable spoons. Thats like throwing more plastic into the thrash can. It will be better to use regular spoon and wash up later… or you can even use lolly sticks or bamboo sticks to serve these… just thinking. The idea is great but needs a green modification to work in this era!

    • True, I guess it depends on how you’re using them and whether you are recycling the plastic afterwards :)
