You need:
- Chocolate
- Microwave
- Sprinkles/decorations/icing
- Disposable spoons
- Thickened cream
Step one, get chocolate.
Step two, try not to eat chocolate.
Step three, buy more chocolate.

Break the chocolate into small pieces in a bowl.

If you’re really into it you could use a double boiler system to melt the chocolate but like I said, I’m lazy. I used the microwave. Put it in for 15sec at a time until it’s around 2/3rds melted.

Let the hot bowl melt it the rest of the way, this way you won’t burn it.

To turn it to ganache you need thickened cream.

Add a spoon full…

Mix it very thoroughly, it looks pretty gross.

Keep mixing until it gets much darker and really shiny. At this point you’re forgiven if you want to eat a few spoon fulls ;P

Grab yourself some pretty spoons…

And put the ganache in! If you want to be anal about it you could pipe it in but that just dirties something else.

Once they’ve cooled down a bit you can decorate them. I used left overs from the last lot so I added a bunch of sprinkles.
And piped a heart and a V so it’s like saying “Love Violet”.

Let them cool in the fridge and you’ve got some delicious spoons. That’s it! These are great to take to parties or as gifts etc.

So now you just have to give them to your friend… yeah of course… definitely don’t just eat them all. I mean that would mean you have pretty much no self control huh? Oh… right.

Yeah, sorry friends who I said would get these.

Ahaha you should totally do it!
I can’t believe you had left over chocolate for a week !!!! There is no such thing in our house ….. hehehe
Hahaha ok I might have cheated a bit and made them on the same day ;)
I’m definitely going to try this out! Thanks for sharing! ^^
And thank you for reading!
looks sooo good! I wanna eat now XD
Heehee I’ll post you one ;)
I saw plastic spoons lying in a drawer and decided to make some chocolate spoons this afternoon. I was lazier and didn’t even add cream, but I did add sprinkles so the cuteness was there. Thanks for the inspiration :)
Mmm that sounds delicious too!
Oh I am loving me some lazy cooking/gift ideas. Not sure I would be safe to be around them once done though ;)
Hahaha I know, it’s so hard to actually give them away right?
What’s thickened cream? We don’t have that here in America, or if we do it’s called something else.
Hmm good question, google says it’s similar to American “heavy cream”, they have a similar fat counts etc but apparently our thickened cream sometimes has gelatin in it too. Honestly I think you could probably use any kind of cream and get the same result though!
Cool idea as usual, and you always make me laugh, your personality rocks.
Aww I’m glad to give you a giggle!
I love the idea but not the disposable spoons. Thats like throwing more plastic into the thrash can. It will be better to use regular spoon and wash up later… or you can even use lolly sticks or bamboo sticks to serve these… just thinking. The idea is great but needs a green modification to work in this era!
True, I guess it depends on how you’re using them and whether you are recycling the plastic afterwards :)
