Polly Pocket Necklace Deco
This post is devoted entirely to Sirena Sparklestar, without whom I wouldn’t have rediscovered my love of my old toys or combined it with my love of sparkles. Do check out her blog, it’s full of very pretty crafts and beauty things!
The story behind this tutorial is that I was desperately searching through my box of old toys for something and I came across my old Polly Pockets, I used to have a massive collection of them as a kid but over the years they all gradually disappeared other than the first one I ever got: a little star locket and a rose locket. I still love it after all of these years and as a fitting way to make it a little more my current style I decided to deco it.
SO CUTE! I think you could even turn it into a necklace, so it’s like a huge, pretty, sparkly locket!
It originally came with a ribbon for a necklace too!

DO you remember Sweet Secrets? They came before Polly Pocket & were like Transformers for girls… with makeup inside!!! I think I posted aboutt hem once. Ooh! The star locket is now more “blingy” and can blend in as any clear gem encrusted star necklace. I love it. <3 What I really like about this deco is the fact that you took an old toy and instead of throwing it away, you made something new out of it and made it more "you". Now I noticed that it has been a general pattern for all of your deco and crafts, but this one I feel is "special" in a way, since it's a toy and at the same time a cherished memory.

This is so sweet. I still wear some of the jewellery I had as a little kid. I have a brooch in the shape of an ice-cream cone that I get loads of wear out of.

This is so adorable! I used to play with those ALL THE TIME when I was little (although I was born in ’92 so they went out of commission when I was still young) and when they turned to Fashion Polly’s I fell even more in love! haha!
