Violet and Jimmy Visit the Langham Snapshots!

Jun 17, 2011 by

I’ve been putting off writing this post. Seriously, I have withdrawals every time I have to look at the pictures. You’ll understand why by the end. This post is seriously picture heavy, even more so than usual.

Almost a year ago I went to an event at the Langham hotel here in Melbourne. It was right after I moved here and I was so excited because I had never been to a hotel with such pretty decor before. From that event I was invited to join the Press Club which is an extension of the Langham’s 1865 program. Part of that included a complimentary night at the hotel. I can’t tell you how excited I was at the prospect of a night away so I put the press pack away to save until I really needed a break! Fast forward to April this year and I decided that it was time to treat James to something special, it was coming up to my birthday and it’s our 4 year anniversary the end of this month as well as the one year point of coming to Melbourne so it felt like high time for a little time away!

  2. What a lovely post :) One of the first time I actually felt I was there with you, everything was so well written and great photographs with it too! :) Now I wish I was there! lol, well I was working next door :D That counts yeah? lol

  3. Cat

I want to go now. It looks so lovely. And great to see that you made the shoes fit :)

    • I loooove the shoes thank you! I’ve still got your package waiting to be sent too, so sorry! *reminds self to send tomorrow*

  4. I want to go to there!
It looks so luxurious. I know what I’m asking Ross for our anniversary!

  5. Holy Mackerel what a place! I think I have to start a new piggy bank and will have to spend a weekend down there for my 40th (which is WAY sooner than I’d like).

  6. Oh Violet that looks absolutely amazing. The Langham, Melbourme is one of my all time favorite hotels worldwide. Everything is so beautiful and lovely. Your stay looked like a very special event and by the sounds of it you enjoyed it very much, which is the most important thing!

  7. from your first 2 sentences I thought that something went terrible wrong (I don’t think I understand the proper meaning for withdrawals lol)
Anyway, that place looks fantastic!! That’s great all the people there are nice! and a great post, felt like I was there, I wish I was! ^^

    • Hahaha XD It does sound a bit misleading! Withdrawals means when you had something and it’s taken away and miss it so much it’s physically painful. I wish you were here too!

  8. omg! it looks like heaven! sounds absolutely amazing! xx

  9. Oh my god that hotel looks amazing!!!! Wow oh wow, pink and gold damask…pretttyyyy! Such good service from the sounds of it! If I ever go to Melbourne I’d love to stay there….although perhaps I should win the lotto first……

There’s this 5 star hotel here in ireland called the G and the theme of it is pink and hat design pictures from philip traecy, its fab:D

    • Haha lotto is right for the top rooms! the smaller ones are more affordable though ad totally worth it. *sigh* when I’m a millionaire! Oh wow I’m going to have to look up pictures of the the G!

  10. I’m currently doing the Day Zero project (http://www.dayzeroproject.com/) which involves completing 101 things in 1001 days. One of my things to do is spend a night in a posh hotel because I’ve never done so before, and this is the kind of place I would love to stay in. If only someone offered me the chance to stay there free for a night!

It sounds like you had a fabulous time, and it what a perfect pre-anniversary celebration :)

Also, if this blog world tour ever goes ahead, make sure you stop by my side of the pond and visit the Langham in London ;)

    • Hell yes I will come visit you in London if I can! The Day Zero project is a fantastic idea, I hope you’re able to complete them all!

  11. wow, Violet! I am so happy for you. What an amazing place to stay. If ever I am in Melbourne…
