Review- EyeMajic

May 8, 2011 by

I love me a good gimmick. Give me something shiny with a new feature and I’m all over it XD I’ve seen and tried similar systems to this before with mixed results so when Eyemajic arrived in my post office box from their PR agency I was intrigued.

  1. Don’t think they’d work so well with us Asian ladies :(. The dark colour wouldn’t line up with our upper eye socket at all.

personally for the cost, i’d expect them to look heaps better. you can buy a pallette of colours for $5 of BYS and get simillar results smearing 3 colours across ur eyelids. i dunno.

    • I totally know what you mean and if you just bought a palette you’d get far more than 2 uses out of it :/

Your mobile site isn’t working :( when I click on read more on both my iPad & iPhone, it just flicks back to the top. Cant read stuff now, missing my daily dose of your blog!

    • Ooo thanks for the heads up, it’s doing it for me too >_< I've disabled it until I can work out the problem. You should be able to at least read them now even if they don't load as fast in the mean time! I'll try to get it sorted tonight, sorry for the trouble!

Those are so great! The’d be great for girls who do a lot of theater (like me!) for when you play two different charecters or have two different costumes, and don’t have time to completly change your makeup between scenes, or the tools to do so. Are these availible in the US?

    • Oh I didn’t even think of theatre use but you’re right! I’m not sure if these particular ones are available but I’m sure there are other brands that will be if these aren’t!

  5. Avon makes/used to make something just like these. Hard Candy also has strips like this, but patterned instead of solid colors (like leopard print, etc). I’ve been very curious to see how they work in real life. When you first applied them, I could see a lot of color, but once they’re blended out, it’s almost gone.
Overall, I definitely agree it could be useful to someone just learning or in a big hurry, but def not cost effective or pigmented enough. Thanks for the demo!

    • I totally would love to see the leopard print ones, I think that would be a much more interesting use of the idea because you’re right once they are rubbed in here you can barely see them. That said I wonder if the colours just blend too well with my natural skin and it might look better with another colour. Either way not cost effective for long term!

aw thanks fo the review, I saw them at Sephora, and I was not particularly thrilled about it, so what you said just confirmed my doubts about how useful they are… On top of that I bought a very good primer so now my make up can last from morning to the ed of the night.

    Hope you’re ok

  7. Once blended I think these look great!
    Thanks for sharing :D

  8. An informative review! I like how you went over the steps to using these in addition to reviewing the strips. Would be very helpful in actually applying these onto your eyes. I agree in that they seem easy to use and it would be especially helpful in my case, since I don’t use makeup often. Good job!

  9. i think that’s pretty cool for travelling or stashing in your handbag :)

    • I completely agree for traveling would be really useful especially because they don’t take up much room ^_^

  10. As you say, they definitely have their place in my handbag for emergency makeup situations!
Also great photos – they really do help in demonstrating the product.
