Deco'd Lipstick Pack

Mar 26, 2011 by

Long time no post huh? Things have been a bit quiet here lately, it’s been one of those weeks where everything seems to be piling on >_< I’ve had the flu so feeling fairly un-energetic during a week that was very high paced for work. All of that means no energy left over for blogging which really sucks :( I should be back up to posting every day next week again though and I’ve almost finished setting up my gallery and some other things which I’ve been planning for a long time so please look forward to that!

Back to it, one thing I did manage to do this week was deco my purse lip colour pack. I bought the container from Daiso several weeks ago and filled it up with lip colours that I use regularly.

  1. I LOVE this! I’m very tempted to get a second one when I go back to Daiso since the one I have has been tossed into my makeup kit now @_@

  2. Oh wow Violet that is so elegant, i love your tutorials!

  3. Sooo shiny! XD

    Hope you’re feeling better!

    Very pretty :)
Whereabouts do you buy your epoxy glue from? I always end up using superglue for my projects, and end up with superglue on my fingers for days…

  5. Wow that looks great and easy enough that I think I could even try it.

  6. so cute!
i also got that idea from my mum before though in her case she just used a simple pill box. but i definitely love your palette. it’s so girly!
    ^_^

  7. I love working with rhinestones!

    XOXO

  8. I love it! Like I said on Twitter, I’m definitely favoring slightly more toned down designs for deco, and this fits the bill. It’s so elegant but definitely packs a nice amount of sparkle. :)

    • I feel like I’m getting old liking toned down classier things hahaha! I mean I actually bought jeans the other day XD Just wait one of these days I’ll wake up and be completely onee style without having realised it!

  9. That’s lovely – simple but very elegant.

  10. This is awesome! I love this idea, now I’ll just have to keep an eye out for these containers! :D Thanks for the how to!

sooo cool!! I wouldn’t mind doing this to my Blackberry :-P

  12. This is gorgeous! Such a great idea, and what fun it must be telling people it is completely handmade :3

  13. The lipstick case is so cool, and I’m always amazed by the craft ideas you come up with! I mean I would never think of doing this. And the deco tut is nice, though I still don’t think I could do it hehe XD

    • Haha I am like 99% sure you could do this! Though if you’re worried maybe get the more forgiving 1hour dry epoxy ;)

  14. wow you did such a great job of putting the diamanted straight!! I don’t know if i were ever able to do that!!! not mentioning your amazing idea of creating such a paletter of lip glosses *o* cool cool cool!!!

    • Heehee thank you Jenia! They key to straight diamantes is cheating with a ruler or something straight XD

  15. Omg this is so awesome! <333

  16. Eri

I love this deco! It’s extremely cute!!

  17. Oh that is just too cute.

  18. Very neat idea! As well, very cute!

-Also! I hope you get better!-

  19. Good idea with lipsticks. Rhinestones on the box look beautiful!

  20. Brilliant idea, I have to do this project and clear up all those lipsticks

  21. rebekah

i love this. you could also zap it in the microwave for like 2 secs instead of the torch.

  22. The lipstick idea is genius! Also, I like your deco philosophy. <3

  23. Jin

Violet, this is a great idea! The deco box is so pretty. Glad to see you’re still using the magic tray!

    • The magic tray is such a time saver Jin! I still love the magic pick too, I think between the two of them you’ve saved hours of my life XD Thank you!

  24. Lady Connie

    It’s so awesome!

But maybe you should have melted them before pouring the listick in the containers? I’d give it a try to do a travel lipstick palette ^^ (do you think I could do it for gloss too?)

Take care and sleep well ^^

    • Gloss would probably work as long as it’s not too liquidy. Melting them first definitely works but I tend to spill half of it ans waste the lipsticks so I find this easier XD

  25. Hi Violet,

I’ve been following your blog for a while, and I love your tutorials! This one inspired me to re-work a few lipsticks that I had that didn’t work for my skin tone into a cute palette. I made an entry on my blog about the *practice* (I write it as so because it really was just practice) project and credited you for the inspiration.

    Keep up the great work!
