Short video on houndstooth nail art made for my blog. This version uses acrylic paint rather than polish as it’s easier to work with.

Houndstooth nail art tutorial.
What you need: base colour polish (white), black acrylic paint, clear polish, thin nail art brush.
First thing is to clean and prep your nails.
I you use a base coat, apply this now.
Lay down a base coat of colour.
I needed a couple of coats to make it opaque.
Load the thin brush with black paint and draw a small square in the centre of the nail.
Add two small triangles from the lower corner of the square.
Add two small lines coming from the diagonal corners.
This is the shape you want to end up with.
Continue by adding squares to above and below the first one.
And repeat the pattern.
Add to the pattern on the sides as well to completely cover the nail.
Wait until it’s dry then add a clear coat. Finished.
Even if it’s a little messy from further away it’s a really effective pattern.
I hope you found the tutorial useful.
