Review Illamasqua Pencil in Elate

Jan 18, 2011 by

When I went to the MBBE Illamasqua counter opening I took home a lovely gift bag with a lipstick and medium pencil. While the lipstick wasn’t quite my colour (black), the pencil has worked its way into my every day make up routine so here’s my review ^_^

  1. Why would they give black lipstick? o.O” anyways I just bought a white pencil too^^ learning to use it and loving it! And how did you make ur eye make up so colourful and vibrant? <3

    • The brand is all about finding your “alter ego” so I think the black fits with that but not for me XD The eye colour is an Estee Lauder one, so pretty :D

  2. Not so many people would wear black lipstick so I guess its very difficult to find some good black lipstick swatches and reviews.
    Pencil is nice :)

    • I agree, I gave it to a friend who I’m pretty sure loves it. The lipsticks that I’ve tried are really beautiful colours though!

Hey! I love white pencils I use mine on my waterline and my eyes look enormous lol… You have a beautiful eyeshadow too, it’s seems to be very nice quality. How do you make your make up last all day long? mine always go in my crease… You use a primer or something?

And maybe to make your pencil softer you could just warm it up a little… I put mine in my jeans pockets when I wear them, and a few time after, tadaaa soft pen! I actually dunno if it stays or not…

And if you don’t know what to do with your lipstick… could you sell it to me? (how much?)

    Take care of you

    • The eyeshadow is an Estee Lauder one ^_^ My make up usually stays in place fairly well through the day. I currently don’t use a primer but I have in the past. I already gave the lipstick to a friend sorry! Thanks for commenting!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I <3 Illamasqua. Recently I bought the primer (smells divine), light foundation, and the shadow called Poem, a light lilac, and I love them.

See, I love the brand because of the quality, the (thankfully) reasonable pricing here in the UK, customer service and the fact it caters to both classic and editorial sort of styles. I dare anyone to go into a store and *not* find something you fall in lust with :p

at the moment at myer in melbourne, you can take any old crappy make-up product and get 25% off the price of any of their products. how cool is that?
i actually do have their blue lipstick (which may be the one you’re talking about…it’s deep blue and looks black)…called ‘disciple’ and i use it under a bright red lipstick so that it comes out this wonderful blood shade! but i have black hair which means i often use dark lipsticks; i don’t have a picture on here…but you should be able to see me in your friends list on facebook Violet..
i love their products…so beautiful….the pencils can be used as lip and eye pencils…i have a bright red one which i use as a lip liner and i also use it on my eyes. it’s wonderful!

    • I love the idea of their make up amnesty! Such a great excuse for more shopping XD No the black that I have is very definitely the full black. I gave it to a friend and she loves it :D

  6. The white liner on top of the black looks subtle, yet dramatic at the same time. It really makes the colour of your eyes pop!
