Lazy Loopy Casual Hairstyle
Jan 11, 2011 by Violet
There are just some days when dressing up awesomely is out of the question. Lack of time, restrictive dress codes or just a lack of motivation can all be killers but sometimes it’s good to just relax and take a beak from it all. Because I work from home I spend most of my time inside behind a computer with not much contact with the outside world so I live in roomwear a lot of the time! On days when I’m not going out or have client meetings at a ridiculous time in the morning I like to do this style because it takes 2 minutes to do but is still cute and can be jazzed up with the right accessory. Also it’s good for summer because your hair is off your neck!

What you need:
- Brush
- Hair tie
- Cute accessory, I’m using a bow
- Bobby pins
| Start by tying up your hair in a high pony tail.

If your accessory is on a hair tie like mine then add it now too, if it’s on a bobby pin you can do it later.
Pull your hair up like this with your thumbs

Hold it up and grab the ends:

Here you have two options depending on how round and fluffy you want the end result. You can either roll the ends under so it goes in a big cylander (super fluffy) or fold them under like this:

If you choose to fold it backwards then you can skip the pins altogether and hold it in the hair tie when you make the original ponytail. That doesn’t work for me anymore though because my hair has too many layers so I have to use pins.

Either way hold the ends in place with one hand…

Then pin them in place!

Once it’s secure fluff it all out to the sides and hair spray if you need to. The back should look like a much neater version of this:

From the side:

And the front! Big and loopy and a nice change from a standard bun ^_^

Aww, really cute! I love stuff that takes almost no effort.
This looks so adorable with the pink in your hair. <3
Thanks Ashley :)
I did this one all the time in high school! It was such a great lolita look for school because it was so easy I could do it on the train, but it still looked really cute and put together. It’s still one of my favorites!
:D I did a lower version at school too!
really cute ^^
looks lovely with the bow and the pink in your hair :D
Thanks Lissy!
I love it! <3 you look super cute!
Thanks Kay!
wait. wait…
you’re wearing a Less Than Jake t-shirt….
we need to be best friends! :D
are you going to be seeing them when they come down in Feb?
BEST FRIENDS! Ahaha I was wondering if anyone would notice!! It’s actually James’ shirt that I steal quite often XD I totally didn’t know they were coming *runs off to check out details*
OMG BFFZ! haha ^^,
when it comes to less than jake, you can count on me to notice :p
but yes! you guys should come with me so i can have cool kids to dance with! :D its so awkward when your’re alone at jolly gigs like that ><
Waaa don’t tempt me! We haven’t been to a gig since we moved here because money has been tight. I’m thinking I’ll have to do something for James’ birthday though :D We should totally meet up for ice tea some time soon!
eee you guys should really come! LTJ always put on a super energetic show, and im pretty sure New Found Glory would be pumping the room full of good pop-punk vibes :)
yesss! we totally should :D i dont know if it sends you my email when i send these comments, but if not let me know :)
Off to email you now :)
Thanks, this is fab. I usually wear a chopstick bun or simple tight loop-bun on scruffy-but-have-to-work days (like today) so this look will be a welcome change! :)
A change is definitely not as good as a holiday but it’s still pretty fun XD
I love loopy hairstyles! I’ve been wearing my hair in low piggy tale loops! Great way to keep hair up in summer & super easy! I love all your hair tutorials!
I love low piggy tail loops too! My hair is getting too long for them now though ;_; Aww thanks Natalie!
I love it! When my hair regrows, I’d totally love to do this one
I think I’m going to have to get you a bunch of pretty hair accessories when your hair regrows!
i love the pink in your hair- how do you get the gradient [for want of a better word] effect?
cute hair style and awesome tee shirt :]
Thanks Daisy ^_^ The gradient is done just by dying the parts that I want pink and gradually pushing and blending it upwards :)
Oh I do this all the time with my hair! I live in Room wear myself, so this a quick and easy style that keeps my hair up, but still let’s it be cute.
Yay for roomwear!
Nice and easy! A quicker way would be to just make a pony and not pull the hair through all the way on the last round ;) This hair sort of reminds me of a Chestnut updo but easier and more casual!
Heehee that’s the way I was trying to describe half way through the tut, though that folded way doesn’t give as big rounded results and curling the ends under so it depends on the end result you’re going for XD
This hairstyle is adorable. I stick my hair in a ponytail 99% of the time. So boring. I should try this for something different.
You should totally give it a try!
