Felt Daisy Headband Tutorial

Jan 3, 2011 by

After searching for aaages for something cute to make for James that was daisy related (it’s really hard to make flowers look manly >_<) I gave up and decided just to make myself some hair accessories. I did actually find him something to make but that’s another post ^_^

This came out of an idea that Omega suggested on Twitter as she sent me a link from Future Girl’s blog!

This is what you end up with…

I really didn’t think it could be this simple, it looks so posh and something I know I would pay good money for!

Time to find some felt and thread…

  3. That is sooo cute! I’m not usually a daisy fan but this is just great! They look perfect with that hairstyle too!

  4. That looks so adorable, I love it!

  5. love it!
    yes very spring-ish :D

This is really cute. My mom is making a ton of doll clothes lately and this would be cute on some of the accessories.

I really like how you stitched the centers all criss-crossy, to really look like a daisy center. I’d love to see what all French Knots would look like, but putting yellow felt under them might be needed, so the white didn’t peek through. Maybe French Knots would be better on smaller flowers.

Keep up the great work on all your crafts. Looking at them makes me what to be more crafty myself and gives me lots of ideas.

    • Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I think French knots would look adorable but yes you would probably need some felt underneath. I think this would look adorable on dolls clothes too :D

  7. This is so cute! I have a bit of light blue felt left over from a project, maybe I’ll make one of these in blue :D

  8. That headband looks so sweet for Summertime. I heard it’s warming up in Melbourne.

  13. As usual, I am in awe of your craftiness. I love the idea of felt-textured daisies… I think that’s really different. It’s fun to contrast fabrics.

  14. A happy new year Princess!! Looong time no see(^^; hehehe…
These flowers look super cute on you:D I wish I had one too!!!

  15. gaah! That is so super-duper cute. It looks great with your hair up like that. I’m not much of a headband person, but I made an impromptu bow headband to wear to Hairspray the other day, and I really liked it, so I think I’ll be making heaps more.

  16. Looks gorgeous doll! I can never make my felt projects look so neat!!

  17. This is simply precious! I love flowers on hairbands and clips, so I might try this tutorial myself. Like Miss Lumpy said, it’d be fun to try these in different colours too!

I used hemp and hot glued the middlee to a little piece of white felt and then kept putting hot glue on the back after spinning it into a spiral =]
