Clothes Recycling- Pink Shirt/Floral Dress

Jan 12, 2011 by

I like re-working things in my wardrobe. I like it a whole lot because in a few hours you can completely change up half of your wardrobe.

So I had two things I didn’t want anymore: a pink striped polo shirt from when I was 15 and a dress my mother bought me that I liked the skirt part but not the top. I don’t think I have before photos of them but oh well!

This is the dress, to get to this point I chopped off the bust and up. It was kind of cream beaded crochet and majorly ugly but the skirt part is cute and floralish:

  2. That is so bright and cheerful! It is gloomy and wintry outside here, so this post is like a bit of sunshine. :)

As usual, in awe of your awesome craftiness. I love how you did the bodice portion of the dress.

  3. That’s such a sweet dress Violet! I like how the darker pink in the stripes picks up the dark pink in the flowers ^-^

Ooh wow that’s really cool! I love the colours and they match really well together. And your shoes are GORGEOUS!!

I’ve got a skirt I’m working on at the moment. I found a navy linen piece at the Salvos for $4 which was just enough. Its the skirt in this suit http://www.etsy.com/transaction/40739468
And I made the pocket flaps and the inside of the pleats on the bottom out of red cotton (a Savers find that too for $4). So it’s really retro and almost sailor looking. Will post photos on the blog when I get the waistband and zip finished :-D

    • That is going to look *so* awesome!! I can’t wait to see it on you! I’ve been loving all your sewing posts lately!
