| James who loves shopping is suave as ever!

Our tour guides were Celeste and this awesome book :D

We saw a whole lot of cute things including beautiful tea pots, dresses and skirts. One of my favorite dresses for the day was this blue number which reminded me of a Regency gown. It’s hard to see here but the details of the flower chains were lovely. I didn’t end up buying it, but I did end up buying the pink skirt hanging up for a whopping $4.99 :D You’ll have to wait until next time for photos of the haul!

I think we ended up hitting around 8 stores today! I can’t wait to have some more money to go shopping with… I left behind the most beautiful 4 piece Maxwell Williams mug/plate/dinner plate set in mint green with pink flowers only $15 but out of my budget ;_;
After all of the shopping we stopped in for lunch at Ping’s Dumpling Kitchen.

Delicious noodles, dumplings and crispy chicken rice was had!

I tried something called Chinese Black Fungus which was a first! It’s kind of like yummy jelly… but it was also hairy so I didn’t like the texture XD

The lovely Celeste:

The green tea was yummy too. VERDICT: DO WANT
I’ve been obsessing a bit over green tea lately, what are all of your favorite blends? I really like Jasmine at the moment :D

Now some lovely architecture I spotted this week…

This arcade houses my favorite chocolate shop: Haigh’s!

They have the most beautiful mosaics all over the floors.

And the ceilings are wonderful too. There are fantastic details pretty much everywhere you look in this place!

I received the most lovely letter from Om this week too, I can’t wait to sit down and write her a reply. She included the cutest little hair bows (photos later) too. I love receiving snail mail :D I mean I love email but it’s so nice to get a good old fashioned letter. I love seeing other people’s hand writing!

James’ baking this week consisted of one very yummy swirly sponge cake ^_^

And I’ll leave you with the worst number plate I have ever seen in my entire life… Yes it is made of torn cardboard and written on with a ball point pen -_-’

Tomorrow I am going to show you all how I painted those rose print nails in a video tutorial :D
Have you all had a good week?

I have that guide! Except I have the Sydney one because I’m from Sydney. It is pretty awesome but I’ve found quite a few of the places don’t exist anymore, or have moved. Awesome photos by the way! You’re looking adorable as always =]

Thanks Lauren! I was surprised how much details went into the book it’s fantastic. I wonder if there’s a more up to date version?
Unfortunately they don’t =[ I went on the website and got all excited because it said ‘New Updated Sydney Edition’ but that was in 2006 and it’s the same guide I have.
I agree, so many details! It’s good because they actually went to all the shops to review them and I like the way it says what percent of each type of items each store has. I hope they do bring out an updated Sydney version.
Oh no that sucks :( I hope they bring out updated ones too!
I love these snapshots! I’ll send you some snail mail too, if you like:)

Heehee the number plate was just silly! I’ll definitely post my haul soon <3
Is that leopard dress from Valley Girl? It looks very similar to one I have from there hehe. By the way I love your blog and you are incredibly cute!
Thanks very much Anna, yep that is a leopard print dress from Valley Girl ^_^
My last week was excellent and I hope yours was too. I love these snapshots. That blue dress was very pretty and I think I might have bought it @o@ I adore Regency clothes. Black FUNGUS? YUCK! I would have passed completely, without even trying it. And James’ sponge cake looks mighty tasty. I do love cake… Thanks for posting!

Thanks for commenting ^_^ I love Regency style clothes too, I would have bought it if I’d had the money! Haha I’m quite adventurous with food, I’ll try anything once :D
The pink flowered skirt looks cute, can’t wait to see how you co-ordinate it! And I totally agree with you that blue dress is very Pride and Prejudice!
And that cake looks tasty too!

I can’t wait to wear the pink skirt out, it’s even cuter in person, so much detail to it :D
But why didn’t you buy the blue dress? It made you look like a cake! :) That is a compliment, FYI. :)

I didn’t have the money for the blue dress ;_; I was very sad to leave it behind!
Oh! i was just at that arcade last weekend! Loved the atmosphere there. :3
It’s such a pretty place!
The thought of eating hairy black fungus makes my skin crawl… you’re a lot braver than me for trying it!

Haha I was very weirded out by it but there were so many other good foods I had to try it XD Food adventure!
I’m not fond of green tea it always tastes like grass to me. But I’ve been drinking a lot of black tea in an attempt to wane myself off of soda. I have one that’s vanilla caramel truffle. Sooooo good!

Oh that sounds delicious! James tried to cut out soda for a while too though he just replaced it with cordial so it was just as unhealthy XD
The black fungus is one of the more important ingredients used in Chinese cooking. not only that, it is said to be good for the skin. :)
I actually really liked the taste! I think it’s just the name fungus that’s kind of off putting from a Western perspective XD If it’s good for the skin I’ll have to try making something with it!
I couldn’t live without tea. I love it too too much! You should try to find a T2 store, I know there’s one in Melbourne Central. The layout of the store is very enticing and they have heaps of green tea. All flavours of tea, actually. I love Turkish Apple and Monk Pear. And Rosebud. Yum :)
Plus, because I know you love chocolate, you should also keep your eye out for Max Brenner (again, there is one in Melbourne Central).
Tea and chocolate – who needs anything else?!

There is a T2 store right near my house actually, it’s fantastic! James’ favorite from there is Turkish Apple while mine is Strawberries and Cream. It’s heavenly! I’ve seen the Max Brenner in MC but I haven’t tried it yet, totally on my list though :D Completely agree with you, I could live off tea and chocolate!
Great pics! I have the same book, it’s great :D

That blue dress makes me think you look like Wendy from Peter Pan! I couldn’t help but crack up at that licensee plate, how strange…
Haha I know, it’s terrible! I totally wanted to be Wendy when I was little!
