Tutorial- Storing Rings and Hair Pins

Sep 16, 2010 by

Omg look a tutorial shock horror! One about storage no less :P See I am slowly catching up on everything, it’s just taking me a little while to do it. Next month I’ll even hopefully be back to posting every day ^_^

Anyway back down to it… a whole bunch of you have asked me about storage solutions and how to make mundane things look prettier. I’m slowly working through all the requests and today I’m going to show you how I store my rings and also my bobby pins. Hair flowers and pins that are stood up vertically (like this) are my absolute favorite kind because they are so versatile but they can be a little hard to store.

Today I’m making/decorating ring boxes!

    Lovely!

I’m awful at storage for my jewellery, but I’ve had an idea in mind for a while of converting a small drawer in my dressing table into a split level cushion-y surprise for storing pins and earrings etc. I just wish I could find my camera (lost it when dear Love moved his stuff in – grrr!), so I could show off my little projects! Drat!

  11. How do you think of all of these lovely things?! All I need is foam and I will be making a project out of this on a rainy day. :)

    • Haha necessity is the mother of invention :D I just look at what I’m doing and see how I could improve it in a cute way :D

  12. So clever!! And you have the prettiest hair pieces. I love all of the roses! I especially love the GIANT fluffy pink bow! <3

    • I love that bow too! I hardly ever wear it for some reason though >_< I'll have to make some more! Thanks so much Charlene!

  13. They are so cute! I use wooden tea boxes. At christmas time they have lots of them as gift packs and they can cost a bit, but on the day after christmas they have them marked down, i picked a few up for $7 each! My only problem is i’m not totally happy with just stacking them… i need to come up with a way to store them and see the contents at the same time.

    • Oh that’s a great idea! I stack these ones with the rings facing outwards that way I can see everything ^_^
