| Every single window has a ridiculous amount of detail!

And the doors are awesome, I want a house like this :D

We also visited the Camberwell markets over the weekend. They are absolutely huge markets! It’s mostly vintage things and clothing as well as little bits and pieces. There were a lot of beautiful flowers too.

It was crazy busy!

More pretty flowers, I want to fill my window box with these ones!

James found some fancy walking sticks…

Of course he managed to pick up the manliest one there… with a dolphin on it XD

Posing with the delicious “wall of chewing gum”. Seriously there was about 10 times as much as you can see in the photo. Ick!

Our tour guide for the day was the lovely Super Kawaii Mama

I didn’t have any money to spend so I just took photos of all of the things I wanted to buy. The sad thing is I didn’t realise until we got home but everything I look photos of matched XD
Cute little dress…

Matching handbag which is completely hand embroidered…

Lovely bowl that I would keep accessories in…

Heehee scotty doggie tin with little figurines XD

VERDICT: There was so much there that I wanted to buy, I definitely want to go back when I have more spending money. The only thing I ended up buying was a gigantic comfy sweater with flowers embroidered all over it, it was only $2! I’ll show you a photo next time :D
James decided to try and make another of the recipes he really misses from the US. This time is was “Onion Blossoms”. Apparently this consists of cutting an onion so it looks like a flower and deep frying it. Then you eat it with ranch dip :D Hideous looking but quite yummy.

We also had a date night this week to try to relax. James cooked a lovely dinner and picked the movie… 1993 live action Super Mario Brothers XD Epically awesome and terrible! Who knew Luigi looked like this in real life….

Last thing for the week! James made me afternoon tea the other day, he said he was bringing cheese and crackers ^_^ I didn’t quite expect this…

He’s always going above and beyond the call of duty!!

Hi Violet,
I love that building too, beautiful architecture! It was originally Melbournes Safe Deposit Building, built in 1890, if only the walls could talk, the stories they could tell ;) I think the ANZ own it now, and have to agree it is a bit of a waste. I had some of my wedding pics take in front of this building- LOVE IT.

I loved the purse too! Haha I think there are so many pretty buildings in the city that I can’t help finding them XD
That bowl and purse are so pretty, and I couldn’t walk by that building without taking dozens of photos either as I love architecture that is so detailed like that.

There were so many cute things that day :D I am a big fan of pretty architecture too!
As horrible as they are I looove those fried onions XD I am getting hungry just looking at them. Ranch dressing is nothing though compared to this spicy dip though http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/blooming-onion-and-dipping-sauce/Detail.aspx I think that’s why I love those onions so much, just for that dip!
I love the items you spotted at the market, especially that purse!

Oooo spicy dip? I’m totally going to have to have a look at that :D I want to build up a tolerance to delicious spicy foods so this seems like a good place to start! Thanks for the recipe!
Awesome pictures! So much cute stuff you found! I loved the dress the most, the bowl was a close second.

Thanks Kathleen! There was so much I wanted to take home :D
Camberwell… oh man, the memories! My dad used to go for antiques, we’d be there at four in the morning to queue for a stall and then all the dealers start haggling at five – insane!

Omg 4 in the morning? I was hard pressed getting up early enough to arrive at 8 >_< I'm so not morning-ish. Sounds like so much fun though!

Thanks so much Polly! I love that belt too, it’s so sweet!
Mario Brothers! I remember when it came out and thinking it was the hottest thing ever. Of course I was only eight…
What cracks me up is the restaurant that started the onion blossom is the Outback Steakhouse, which is Australian themed. I had always assumed it was Australian.
Trixie recently posted..Cropping a Cardigan
Mwahaha I know what you mean about the Outback Steakhouse! A couple of Americans I know have totally assumed we eat like that here.. I had never even heard of a onion blossom until James told me about them XD Looking at their menu there is pretty much nothing Australian about it… especially the “Aussie cheesy fries” the only places here that serve cheese on their fries are specialty American restaurants LOLOLOL! Yay for cultural exchanges XD
I love farmers market flower stalls I just wna to sit in a big one all day and smell flowers.
Oh me too!
They open that building I think during the Melbourne Open House which is held every year in the middle of winter some time.
My bf used to work at 100 Queens (the rest of that ANZ) and he said that whole corner is super nice. The executive offices upstairs are very plush. And apparently there is a jade elephant on each corner of the spires on the top of the building!
If you want yummy fried onion-y goodness, go to Urban Burger on Errol St, North Melbourne (just jump on the 57 tram from Elizabeth St) – they have awesome burgers and PROPER onion rings, not those horrid processed things you get at Hungry Jacks.
Esz recently posted..Goin’ away
Ooo I totally want to go to the open house next time! I can only imagine the awesome executive offices :O I love a good onion ring, totally have to try out Urban Burger, thanks for the recommendation. Mmm hungry now.
I just love a good vintage market !!! But the chewing gum wall ……………eeewwweeeee !!!!!!!!
I knoooooow! It was so icky!
