Jul 21, 2010 by

Morning everyone, today I’m making a cute shower cap ^_^

Continuing on in my series of cutening up every day objects today I’m going to show you how I made my shower cap that little bit pinker :D

Shower Cap Tutorial

To make this particular cute shower cap you need:

  • Plain shower cap (got mine from Coles for around $2)
  • Some fabric of your choice
  • Eyelet lace
  • Ribbon
  • Needle and thread

  1. Adorable! I never use a shower cap but this one looks so cute, like a little night cap I used to wear every night to bed when I was little!

  2. soooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!! =D

  3. Kari

Omigawsh… that is just toooo cute!!!! I totally need to do this to all of my shower caps now, it’ll probably help motivate me to keep better track of where they are XD

    • Haha I’m always losing them too >_< I used to have hooks in the shower and that was awesome, I'm too lazy to put them up now though XD

  4. uber cute *thumbs up once again* :D

  5. CUTE !!
I had one from safeway, its purple. Like it the way it is already :) And I don’t prefer my shower cap to be fabric tho. It’ll be wet after shower. But your prettify shower cap definitely make me want it :P

    xoxo

    • :D Yep it’s fabric but because it’s made out of toweling it will dry just as fast as your bath towel and be ready for next time ^_^

  6. Wonderful, I could not live without my shower cap. The whole time I was reading your post I kept thinking, I really hope she models it at the end….. and you did :). Super job.

  7. Soo adorable! You have a gift for always look cute in photos :) I love this idea, I use shower caps all the time, mine could use some decorating!

    • :D You totally should do it! Haha I don’t know if I’m always cut in photos, I bet I could dig up some mighty unflattering ones ;)

  8. That looks so much prettier!

  9. Awesome!! but the fabric will get wet…

    • Yep but because it’s made from toweling fabric it will dry as quick as quickly as a bath towel and be ready again for next time ^_^

  10. I don’t usually use a shower cap, but that one is so cute I may have to start!

  13. Spica

Wow! I’m going to need to make one. Since I’ve been swimming the stuff in the pool has been drying out my hair. At least now I can make one to match my swimsuit. <3

    • Hi “Kate/Leen/QiQi/Amber/Kathy/Linn”!
Thanks for commenting so many times! As the email address you used for each of your comments is the same, you all posted from the same IP address and have the same grammar/spelling issues I’m going to go ahead and make a small leap and say you are probably the same person. As such I will be copy-pasting this reply to each of the comments you have left here.

Generally speaking I really appreciate feedback on my website and things that I am doing, in this case let me address some of the issues you have mentioned…

OMG stop being asian u wannabe-
You couldn’t be more wrong on this one. I most definitely do not want to be Asian. I am 100% happy with the way that I look and while I admire other nationalities, the sense of culture they inspire, the products they create and the different things available to them, I am also 100% happy with being a caucasian Australian. I am personally inspired by the trips I have taken to both Singapore and Japan but equally so I am inspired by the trips I have taken to Europe and the UK. As James is a large influence in my life, his love of American 50′s kitsch and rockabilly is very influential in my style choices.

u look 40 y/o dressed as a little girl LMAO! only asians can pull this look or other caucasian girls who r prettier than u
Indeed there are thousands of girls who are prettier than me in the world. I personally couldn’t care less. The second you start measuring yourself against other people is the second you doom yourself to a life of unhappiness. I cannot change the way that I look and if I look older than I am there is not very much I can do about that. We play the cards we are dealt with, that’s life. As such I work with the canvas I am given and do my best with the limited resources I have. I don’t care what other girls look like… I’m not aiming for any one specific fashion or look… I’m just aiming to be me. There isn’t anyone in the world who can be me better than I can.

This all seems to bother you a lot more than it does me so perhaps you should exercise your right not to visit my website if you find me so unappealing?

I should let you know that I have your IP address so if you feel the need to be this hateful at anything in the future please be sure to stay within the bounds of the law. As I understand it cyber bullying is taken quite seriously in the country we both live in.You have the right to your opinion but I also have the right not to feel threatened or uncomfortable on my own website. I thought about blocking you from accessing my blog but by clicking here as often as you do (yes I can track that) and lingering around the place you are actually contributing to my statistics and income from advertising revenue. Thanks for that, I really appreciate it :D

I think you might want to look at whether commenting this many times is a constructive way to get your message across or just a way to kill time for you. If it is the latter then I can think of many ways in which you could spend your time better. Please try anything from the following list of suggestions:
      -Volunteering for a charity
-Finding a hobby, for example model air craft building
      -Reading a book
-Continuing your studies, possibly concentrating on spelling and grammar
-Working on your own look or looking at the kind of person you are on the inside rather than focusing on those around you

Again I appreciate you taking the time to leave so many comments for me, I hope you find something to help you with whatever it is you are looking for. Have a great day!

  18. Linn

..you’re still ugly though LOL!! :)

    • Dear “Kate/Leen/QiQi/Amber/Kathy/Linn/Bronte/Rachel”,

Thanks for commenting again and for providing me with so much amusement! Please note that all of your comments and visits to this site have been recorded. I can see that you must feel really strongly about this to put so much effort into trying to make me cranky ^_^ It must take a lot of effort to remain that ignorant about how things like IP addresses work so you can pretend to be several different people.

For your convenience please find this simple explanation:

      http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=UwR&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&defl=en&q=define:IP+address&sa=X&ei=d5yiTPvkIoGcvgPTheDwAw&ved=0CBQQkAE

To answer your question… no I don’t cry in the corner of my bedroom from negative comments left on my website. I find it refreshing to hear different points of view. I most certainly don’t have such low self esteem that I need the approval of a random stranger on the internet XD That would be a little pathetic wouldn’t it? Clearly this conversation is upsetting one of us, it’s certainly not me though :)

As you still seem to have a lot of time on your hands I would definitely suggest you look more closely at the list of suggestions I made in my last reply. Perhaps if you decide to pursue your studies it would be a good idea to focus on reading comprehension subjects as well :)

I might also suggest that you spend time looking at yourself rather than those around you. A beautiful face really can’t hide an ugly soul. Perhaps you might even take your own advice and start growing up a little? You seem to have a problem with anger so perhaps you should take some positive steps towards dealing with that too. If I’m ever in Sydney again I would be more than happy to meet up and discuss whatever problems you have with me. In the mean time I hope you can find whatever it is you need.

Thanks for continuing to support this website by visiting! Have a fantastic day ^_^

  19. This is such a cute idea! I wish I could find shower caps in my area of the US–no one seems to use them anymore!

If I do find one, I will definitely try this. By the way, if it ever does get a bit dirty, what do you do? Do you hand wash it?

    • They sell them everywhere here, maybe check places like Sally’s? If it gets dirty I just give it a good handwash, because the fabric is toweling it dries very quickly ^_^
