And the stripey ones. Stripes are awesome :D

I made this cake when my Mum came over for dinner.

It didn’t turn out very well but it was pretty yummy! I think next time I need to just stick with icing because I tired to paint roses on the sides and it looked terrible!

One day I went to brush my teeth and there was a lizard in the sink who couldn’t get out. He was stuck because the sink was slippery >_<

He was scared of us (I named him Steven by the way) so I used the string on my pajamas to make a ladder for him. He got out and lived in our bathroom for a few days eating the ants.

One day he tried to venture into the lounge so we had to put him outside in case someone stepped on him :(

BYE STEVEN! He lives under our back steps now.

We discovered that there was a Japanese bakery that just opened up at one of our favorite shopping centers… and went a bit crazy. Turns out that as pretty as the below cake looked it was disgustingly stale >_< Luckily their other things are absolutely delicious so we’ve been going back almost every week!

These are the photos James took on Christmas Day. I didn’t get any of the morning when we went to my Dad’s house so here are the ones from lunch with James’ family. The food was so yummy!

And the table was very pretty ^_^

Candied yams… we don’t usually have this in Aus, it’s very American. I’d never heard of it until James introduced me but it’s sooo yummy!

Group shot!

I stole some of the decorations from the crackers to make my bow more Christmas-y.

For New Years we went to James’ Parent’s unit in Mooloolaba. There was such a pretty view from the balcony!

Oh course it always had a breeze in the most inappropriate times XD I still love this photo!

James wanted to try out lots of new camera settings so I got to do lots of cam-whoring.

And I wanted to show you how glittery my nails looked in the sun…

So glittery! I can’t believe I forgot to take a close up >_< They were seriously all pink and silver glitter with some cute black hearts.

For dinner that night I had Okonomiyaki from a street vendor, so over priced and not very nice. I give it a 5/10 because they didn’t have extras on top.

The view from that night, there were lots of street stalls there.

A kiss at midnight!

And the pretty fireworks.

It was a pity that half of them were behind that tree. Pretty anyway :D

So there you go! I’ll be back again with another nail art tutorial soon ^_^ |
dearie u ACTUALLY touched that lizard, held it n let it crawl on ur arm? O_O oh the horror!
XD It was just a little one, we get them all the time here. So cute! Clearly I am in desperate need of a puppy to love XD
Those purple nails (and jewellery)are gorgeous!! ‘course, I’m biased towards that colour :)
Haha I’m a little biased towards the violet too ;) I have a serious gigantic ring fetish at the moment!
Ooh lovely photos as always :-D looks like you had a fab holiday period :-D
:D I really did! And we’re going to Melbourne for a holiday in Feb so it’s just getting better :D
The nails are awesome, and so is that cake :D They match the Christmas-y theme perfectly :D and hahah I would be too freaked out to pick up a lizard if I found it in my sink x_x”
andddd is that Japanese bakery you were talking about Breadtop :D ? I LOVE Breadtop! Although I think it’s pretty much run by Chinese people …like every other Japanese store in Australia hahah (well most at least) !
Happy late New Year! :D
(that okonomiyaki doesn’t look very nice :( )
Oh the okonomiyaki was so icky :( waaaay too floury. Haha I felt so bad for the little lizard! I couldn’t just leave him there and now he eats all the gross bugs at our house! Yep the bakery is Breadtop! THEY ROCK! Yeah the one near our place is run by Chinese aunties too XD I haven’t seen an authentic Japanese bakery in Aus yet either but Breadtop is still yummy and so cheap too! Happy New Year <3
Aw, the lizard is so cute !
You look like Marilyn Monroe with the wind in you dress :)
Heehee thanks! You are the only person other than me so far that thinks the lizard was cute :D
Talking about “Kissy” pictures, *Sweeetttt*
I have one of you and James.
Yeah, I have been secretly stalking you.. *Evil laugh* Nyek Nyek Nyek..
Will send it to you via email. =)
OoooooOOooOOoo kissy pictures! You stalker! Oh I will totally email you soon and demand pictures! *snowed under*
great photos love jame’s photography and ur bow ^^
tehe bless the cute lizard
James is such a good photographer, I really hope he pursues it a bit more ^_^ Heehee I’m glad not everyone thinks the little lizard is icky!
I love that shot of you on the balcony with the well timed breeze. Where did you find the gorgeous print dress, or is it one of your own creations?
Me too! That’s probably my favorite of the whole trip ^_^ That dress is one of my creations, I actually made it as a back up to my NN award dress and now it’s one of my favorites! I’ve been 3 months without my sewing machine now and I’m craaaaving it!
What great photos! Mostly good food (can’t have everything, huh? lol), great ocean views, it looks like you had a fantastic time!
I will have to show my little boy your lizard photos in the morning, he will go beserk! We love lizards here, and my kids get really excited when they see them.
I really did have a great time :D Heehee go nuts with the lizard photos, I think I must be in desperate need of a puppy because I will heap attention on just about anything that moves including a lizard!
Violet I really like your photo taken at the balcony when the sea breeze came in! Great timing hehe. You must do a close up of your nails! Love the ones you did for your mom.
Aw thanks Jin ^_^ I will see if I can dig up a close up of the nails for you :D
Are you talking about Breadtop? When I saw that place was going to open I nearly died of happiness! Seriously, 16 years since my family moved here from Taiwan, Brisbane finally got itself a proper Japanese bakery! Every time I go back to Taiwan I eat all the bread I can find there because there’s a bakery like every two stores, and i’ve always been confused. Like in these past years, Brisbane’s got all sorts of Asian food, even some of my weirder favourites like hot grass jelly, but there is no bread?! So anyway the point is, i’m very happy now haha.
I’ve been continuously planning a trip to Mooloolaba for ages but something always comes up! It looks beautiful but i’ve spent all my money these holidays on med school study materials. Sigh.
Yep Breadtop! Mmmm I was so excited when I found out Breadtop was opening too! I think Brisbane has quite a way to go with Japanese/Asian cuisine but at lease we’re making progress XD Oh god now I’m craving fish buns again!! Oh Mooloolaba is really nice, especially if you can get right on the beach! It’s really relaxed as well but it can get pricey if you eat out all the time :( God luck saving!
love the nails!! soo cute!!!
:D Thank you!
Steven the lizard is adorable and i loved how you were kind to him!
Heehee I agree! Steven is so cute. I’m glad he still lives on our steps now and eats all our bugs!
Cute dress from New Year’s. Must have!!! *_*
Aww thanks :D I made it myself!
I just want to say that I don’t think you’re weird for picking up the little lizard! I see them a lot too, my mum calls them skinks, haven’t really taken 2 seconds out of my day to google that! But I love them! I don’t really like or dislike lizards but skinks are so tiny and adorable, they like to hang out in my letterbox! They’re cute! :3
I call them skinks too ^_^ It sounds much cuter than lizards haha! I agree, I don’t really like big lizards but skinks are just so small they’re cute! ^_^
